INSTALLATION
Positioning
Place the air conditioner on a firm, flat surface. The minimum distance required
from the operating air conditioner to any walls or objects is 50 cm.
Installing the Exhaust Hose
Step 1: Fit the hose end connectors to the exhaust hose by turning the
hose end connectors counter-clock-wise to the exhaust hose as shown in Figure
5.
Step 2: Open a window and fit the window kit. Extend the attachments as
required and lock into place with the window kit screw provided. Ensure the
outlet is not obstructed. The window kit can be installed horizontally or
vertically, to suit your window type.
Step 3: Fit the hose end connector to the window kit, and lock into place
with one of the screws provided.
Step 4: Lead the other end of the exhaust hose onto the exhaust outlet at
the rear of the air conditioner as shown in Figure 6. Ensure the clips on the
air conditioner have engaged onto the hose end connector. Keep the exhaust
hose as short and straight as possible. This will maximise the cooling
performance. Don’t use extension pieces
for the exhaust hose as this will reduce performance and possibly result in
damage to the air conditioner.
Hot air and mist will be emitted outside through the exhaust hose. It is
critical to the performance of the unit that all of the exhaust air is removed
from the space being cooled.
Installing a Drain Hose
For continuous draining of water during dehumidifying mode operation.
Step 1: Remove the drain outlet plug at the bottom rear of the air
conditioner.
Step 2: Connect a 12 mm diameter hose to the drain outlet as shown in
Figure 7. Push on firmly to secure into place. Step 3: Run the free end of
the pipe to a drain. Make sure that the drain hose does not rise above the
drain outlet as the water will not flow otherwise.

REMOTE CONTROL
Preparation Before Operation
Remove the battery cover and insert new batteries (AAA), making sure the + and
– match the compartment markings (Fig 10).
During Operation
If the remote control will not operate the air conditioner, the batteries may
need to be replaced.
Remove the batteries and replace with new ones. If this does not solve the
problem contact your nearest service centre for advice.
Note! The air conditioner must be plugged in and switched on for the remote
control to operate the air conditioner.
To use, point at the signal receiving window on the control panel and press a
button (Figure 9). The air conditioner will “beep” when signal has been
received.
If there is no beep, press the remote button again, ensuring it is within
range (6 metres) of the air conditioner.
Note! If there are two of the same air conditioners installed, they
cannot be controlled separately. When you operate either remote, it will turn
on both air conditioners if they are both within signal range (6 metres).
Care of your Remote Control
Don’t let the remote control drop onto hard surfaces or be subjected to sudden
shocks of any form. The warranty does not cover misuse or accidental damage.
Don’t place the remote control in direct sunlight, or near extremes of
temperature. Don’t allow the remote control to get wet. Don’t place near
strong electromagnetic waves.
Don’t mix old and new batteries! If the remote control will not be used for a
long time, remove the batteries to avoid corrosion.
Note! The remote will display heat mode.
Heat mode is not applicable for this model of air conditioner. When heat mode
is selected the air conditioner will make a beeping sound and continue to
operate in fan mode. Nothing will be displayed on the air conditioner.
NOTE:
WASTE BATTERIES SHOULD BE DISPOSED OF CORRECTLY
OPERATION
Starting the air conditioner
Step 1: Ensure the air-conditioner is plugged in at the wall power outlet
and is switched on. The air defl ector will open and close before entering
stand-by mode.
Step 2: Press the POWER button on the control panel or remote control
(Fig. 8 & 9). The air defl ector will open automatically.
Mode selection
Step 1: Press the MODE button on the control panel or the remote control
toselect the desired operating mode.
- Cool mode – refrigerated cooling
- Dry (or Dehumidify) mode – for extracting moisture from the air.
- Fan mode – fan only operation.
- Energy saving mode – refrigerated cooling with automatic control of the fans.
Step 2: Press the UP and DOWN buttons to select the desired room
temperature in 1°C (or 1°F) increments. The set temperature range is 16 – 30°C
(60 – 86°F). Cooling will only occur if the set temperature is less than the
ambient room temperature.
Change between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scales by pressing both UP
and DOWN together.
Note! Do not set the cooling temperature too low as this will consume
more power. 24°C is the recommended set temperature.
Step 3 : Press the FAN button on the control panel or the remote control
to adjust the fan speeds.
Note! In cooling mode the fan will continue to operate even if the
compressor has turned off.
Note! In dehumidifying mode the fan speed is locked at low and the
temperature cannot be adjusted.
Note! In energy saving mode the fan will stop for two and a half minutes
after the compressor has turned off due to reaching the set temperature. The
fan will then operate at low speed for 30 seconds and continue to cycle in
this manner until the ambient air rises and the compressor turns on.
Important! During operation, water will slowly collect in the air
conditioner’s tank. This occurs more rapidly in humid conditions. This water
is recirculated, with some being exhausted with the hot air. If the tank
should fill, the air conditioner will shut down and the WATER-TANK FULL
indicator will activate. The cooler cannot be restarted until the water tank
is drained. Refer to the Maintenance section for draining the tank should this
occur.
Sleep mode
Sleep mode can only be used in Cool or Energy saving modes. During sleep mode
the set temperature will increase 1°C after 2 hours and 4 hours, after which
the new temperature will be maintained.
Step 1: Press the SLEEP button to activate sleep mode. Alternatively,
press both TIMER and UP on the control panel.

Step 1: Press the AUTO-SWING button on the remote control, or
alternatively press both TIMER and SPEED on the control panel.
Step 2: Press the AUTO-SWING button on the remote control, or
alternatively press both TIMER and SPEED on the control panel to cancel auto-
swing.
Auto-clean
During shut-down, the air-conditioner will continue to operate the fans for 3
minutes to dry-out and clean the inside of the air conditioner. Auto-clean can
only be used when turning the appliance off whilst operating in either Cool,
or Energy Saving modes.
Timer Function
The air conditioner is fitted with a timer function, which allows the automatic
start or shut-down of the air conditioner after a set period of time. Timer
for automatic start-up is set by following the below steps with the air
conditioner in stand-by mode. Timer for automatic shut-down is set with the
air conditioner turned on.
Step 1: Press the TIMER button to enter timer setting mode. The display
will begin to flash.
Step 2: Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the time to shut down or start
up. Timer range is 0 – 24 hours. Increments are 30 minutes when using the
control panel, or 1 hour increments when using the remote control.
Note! Setting the timer to 00 will set the air conditioner to turn off
within 1 minute.
The air conditioner can only be set to 00 when using the remote control.
Note! Setting the timer for start-up can only be done when using the
control panel.
Step 3: Wait 5 seconds. The display will stop flashing and the time
remaining till start up or shut down will be displayed.
Step 4 : To cancel the timer turn the air conditioner on or off or press
TIMER whilst in timer setting mode.
MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the air conditioner from the electricity mains before
cleaning or draining.
To maximize the efficiency of the air conditioner, clean regularly.
Cleaning the housing
- Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the body clean.
- Never use aggressive chemicals, spirits, detergents, chemically treated cloths, or other cleansing solutions. These substances could possibly damage the cabinet.
Cleaning the filters
- Remove the filters from the top and bottom of the air conditioner as shown (Fig. 11).
- Use a vacuum cleaner or tap the filter lightly to remove dust and dirt and then rinse under running water (no hotter than 40°C).
- Dry thoroughly before replacing.
- Take care to replace the filter back into the slot in the cooler.
Note! Never operate the air conditioner without the filters.
