SAFETY CAUTIONS
- Original instructions. Read these safety precautions carefully before using the unit! This appliance should only be used as described within this instruction booklet. Please retain for future reference.
IMPORTANT SAFETY
- UK Only: This appliance must not be used in the bathroom.
- Outside the UK: If using the appliance in a bathroom, unplug after use as the proximity of water can be dangerous even if the appliance is switched off. For additional protection the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if damaged or if the appliance has been dropped. In the event of damage contact the Conair Customer Care Line (refer to UK After Sales Service section for further information).
- WARNING! Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.

Return the appliance to the Customer Care Centre (refer to ‘UK After Sales Service’ section for further information). No repair must be attempted by the consumer.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended when switched on or plugged in.
- During use, do not place the appliance on any heat sensitive surface
- WARNING! Only hold the handle during use.
- Special care is required when using the appliance close to the skin, in particular the eyes, ears, face and neck.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand, the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and use maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Allow the appliance to cool before storing away.
- This product contains batteries (2 x AAA batteries) that are not to be removed from the appliance for charging.
- Do not use any accessories other than those recommended by BaByliss.
- Always unplug the appliance when not in use or before cleaning.

IMPORTANT! Only use the attachments supplied with this appliance.
Mains Operated Clipper
Oiling Instructions
IMPORTANT! It is highly recommended before each use to oil the blades with the
oil provided. This ensures optimum cutting performance. For the first use you
will need to use the oil supplied with the product. Unscrew the cap and cut
off the very end of the plastic tube with a pair of scissors to release the
oil. To oil the blades, ensure the appliance is switched on. Gently squeeze
the oil tube and apply 2 drops of oil onto the blades. Leave the unit on for a
further few seconds to allow the oil to thoroughly spread the length of the
blades. Switch off the unit and remove any excess oil by gently dabbing with a
cloth.
Comb Guides
This appliance is supplied with 6 comb guides:

- To attach a comb guide, ensure the appliance is switched off. Slide the cutting blades of the clipper under the slot in the rear of the teeth of the cutter guide and snap the clip on the bottom of the guide, over the bottom edge of the fixed clipper blade.
- To remove a comb guide, ensure the appliance is switched off. Push the tab on the rear of the comb guide away from the head and lift off.
Preparation for Use
- Always inspect the appliance for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.

- For best performance, use on clean, dry hair that has been combed until tangle-free.
- Prior to use always inspect the head for warts, moles, spots and broken skin. Special care should be taken to avoid injury and cuts.
- Remove any head jewellery such as earrings and necklaces before use. Please Note: This appliance should not be used for longer than 20 minutes of continuous use.
Clipping
For an all over even cut:
- Attach a comb guide as required – your clipper is supplied with 6 comb guides (Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8). Each comb guide is labelled.
- Switch the clipper on and the blades will start to move.
- Starting at the nape of the neck, hold the clipper with the teeth of the clipper pointing upwards, ensuring that the comb guide is resting flat against the head.
- Slowly move the clipper upwards and outwards through the hair towards your crown, against the direction of growth. The comb guide will help to lift the hair and the blades will cut the hair at the desired length.
- Once the desired length is achieved at the back of the hair, start clipping the top and sides.
- Hold the clipper to the front of your hair with the teeth pointing towards the back of your head and move the clipper towards your crown. Repeat as necessary, moving in rows from the front and sides of your head to the back.
- You should achieve an even length cut all over your head.
For a shorter back and sides, with length on the top:
- Attach the longer comb guide as required for the top of your hair – your clipper is supplied with 6 comb guides (Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8). Each comb guide is labelled.
- Switch the clipper on and the blades will start to move.
- Hold the clipper to the front of your hair with the teeth pointing towards the back of your head and move the clipper towards your crown. Repeat as necessary, moving in rows from the front and the sides of your head to the back.
- If you wish to take the back and sides of your hair to a shorter length, switch off the appliance and attach a shorter comb guide.
- Starting at the nape of the neck, with the comb guide flat against the head, move the clipper upwards and outwards over the area you want to take shorter.
- Repeat on the sides of the hair, starting with the teeth of the clipper pointing upwards and comb guide flat against the area above the ear, again moving the clipper upwards and outwards.
Outlining:
- To tidy the edged around your cut, e.g. the neckline and sideburns, detach the comb guides.
- Hold the appliance upside down, so the front of the clipper is facing towards your head.
- Hold the clipper straight on your sideburns or neckline and move the clipper downwards. This will give you a clean, smooth finish.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
To maintain optimum performance, the appliance should be cleaned after each use.
- Switch the appliance off and unplug at the mains supply.
- Remove any comb guides. Rinse the comb guide under the running water and dry thoroughly before storage or use.
Removable Blades
To make cleaning easier, the BaBylissMEN clipper blades can be removed.
- Make sure that the trimmer is off and remove the cutting guide.
- Hold the clippers with the blades pointing up and remove them by pressing the points (Fig.1).
- Carefully brush the blades using the cleaning brush to remove the hair.
- Rinse the blades under water without immersing the product.
After cleaning, switch the appliance on, and oil the blades by adding a few drops of the oil supplied over the blades. Only use the lubricating oil supplied with this appliance as this is specifically formulated for high-speed clippers and does not evaporate or slow the blades.
Please note: Do not attempt to repair or replace the blades. In the event that the blades become blunt or damaged, contact the Conair Customer Care Line.
Precision Trimmer
The precision trimmer can be used for tidying sideburns and neckline. It can
also be used to maintain a beard or moustache.
Preparation for Use
- Prior to initial use, test the trimmer on a small area of arm or leg hair. If any signs of allergic reaction or sensitivity occur, discontinue use. Do not use on very sensitive or irritated skin.
- Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
- Ensure the trimmer head is free from hair and other debris.
Changing the Battery
The trimmer requires 2 x AAA batteries (1.5V). To insert or replace the battery, hold the trimmer upside down with the back of the unit facing you. Placing one thumb on the Triangular Mark of battery cover, firmly push up to remove the battery cover. Insert the battery as indicated on the inside of the battery compartment. Replace the battery cover by sliding it back into the main trimmer until it clicks into place. If the appliance remains unused for a while or if the battery runs down, remove it from the appliance. Do not mix old and new batteries.Do not mix alkaline,standard(carbon-zinc),or rechargeable(Nickel cadmium or Nickel Metal Hybride) batteries.
Changing the Trimmer Heads
- Your trimmer is supplied with one removable cutting head.
- Make sure the trimmer is switched off.
- To remove the trimming head. Hold the trimming with the blades pointing up and remove them by pressong their points. (Fig. 2)
- To reassemble the head onto th body, with the trimmer facing away from you, place the bottom of the blade on to the trimmer and push the blade down until it clicks into place. (Fig. 3)
Trimming
Neckline:
- Switch the appliance on.
- Hold the trimmer with the teeth of the trimmer pointing upwards, yet flat against the skin.
- Move the trimmer upward and outward through the hair, against the direction of hair growth.
- The trimmer will work most efficiently when cutting though the hair at its Own speed. Never force the trimmer.
- Never switch the appliance off whilst in the hair.
Sideburns:
- Use a comb to comb the hair in the direction of the growth.
- Always trim your sideburns from the top down.
Beards
Outlining:
- After having combed through your beard in the direction of growth, outline the desired shape, starting under your jawline.
- Work backwards on each side of your face towards your ears.
- Define the upper outline of your beard across your cheeks, past your sideburns and towards your hairline.
Outlining Moustache:
- Use the comb to comb hairs in the direction of growth.
- Use the blades only to define the outline of the bottom of your moustache.
BATTERY DISPOSAL
To minimise hazards to health and the environment at the end of this product’s life, laws dealing with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and The Waste Battery Directive require you to dispose of these products and their batteries at a suitable collection facility where they will be sent for appropriate recycling. Please contact your local authorities for more details on recycling and safe disposal of these in your area.
UK GUARANTEE
This BaBylissMEN appliance is guaranteed for consumer use for 3 years and is
only valid within the United Kingdom.
This guarantee covers consumer use only i.e. defects occurring under normal
use within the home from date of purchase or date of delivery, whichever is
later.
If the product develops a fault due to defects in materials or manufacture
within 12 months from the date of purchase, to avoid delays and unnecessary
inconvenience, where possible please return the product to the point of
purchase for an exchange,
If the product develops a fault due to defects in materials or manufacture
after 12 months from the date of purchase, and within the guarantee period,
Conair UK After Sales Service will repair or replace the product.
Exclusions
This guarantee will no longer be valid meaning that The Conair Group Ltd will not be liable to repair or replace your product where:
- The appliance has been used on a voltage supply other than that which is marked on the product, or advised within this instruction booklet
- The appliance has been purchased from an unauthorised stockist*
- The appliance is used for professional/non-domestic usage
- Repairs or alterations have been attempted by unauthorised persons
- The failure of the appliance is a direct result of misuse
- The failure is a result of not following the instructions for use
This guarantee does not cover any cosmetic damage due to misuse of the product nor any damage to persons or property that occurs because of product misuse.
