OPERATION GUIDE

Self-test
Prior to use, please perform a Self-test to ensure guaranteed Indication. Turn the switch to “O” position. Touch the Driven Blade and other hand touch the upper contact. Red LED lights up indicating normal function.

Microwave leakage detection
Turn the switch to “L” position. Move the Driven Blade of the tester slowly over and around the microwave oven, TV screen or PC monitor. The green LED lights up and beep sounds, if microwave leakage is detected.

Testing AC Voltage – non-contact method
Turn the switch to “L” position. Hold the tester and touch the upper contact. To locate “Live/Hot” side of wire, gently trace the tester along the wire. Live/Hot side is indicated by the green LED and beep sound.

Determination of Polarity – Contact Method
The tester can be used to determine voltage polarity within voltage range of 1.2–36V. Touch one of the poles of the power source with your hand and the other pole with the tester tip. Touch the metal sensor on the side of the tester with a finger of the hand holding the tester. If a green indicator lights up, the tester tip is touching the positive pole.

Verification of wire connection
Turn the switch to “L” position. Move the Driven Blade of the tester slowly over tested wire. Voltage is detected by the green LED and beep sound. Where the wire is broken, the green LED and beep turn off.

  • Electronic Component Check – contact method (Turn the switch to “O” position)
  • Bulb – Hold the bulb socket. Touch the bottom contact of bulb with the tester and touch the upper contact of the tester with your finger. The bulb is functional, if the green LED lights up.
  • Fuse – Process is the same as Bulb.
  • Coils and resistors – Process is the same as Bulb.
  • Diodes – Process is the same as Bulb. The red LED lights up in conducting direction and doesn’t light in reverse direction.
  • Capacitor – Process is the same as Bulb. If the capacitor is OK, the red LED lights up and slowly go down.
  • Transistors: PNP – Touch the emitter or collector. Then touch the base with the tester. The red LED lights up, if the transistor works correctly.
  • Transistors: NPN – Touch the base. Then touch the emitter or collector with the tester. The red LED lights up, if the transistor works correctly.

CAUTION

  • Never use the tester without the upper cap
  • Never test the voltage with contact method, if you don’t know exactly its range.
  • You can test only the voltage range, which is safe for current environment
  • Handle the tester according the valid standard
