Before you start using this router, please check if there is anything missing in the package, and contact your dealer to claim the missing item(s):

Safety Precautions
To avoid any device damage and bodily injury caused by improper use, please observe the following rules.
Keep the power off during the installation.
Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap, and make sure that the wrist strap has a good skin contact and is well grounded.
Use only the power cord provided with the Switch.
Make sure that the supply voltage matches the specifications indicated on the rear panel of the Switch.
Ensure the vent hole is well ventilated and unblocked.
Do not open or remove the cover of the Switch.
*Before cleaning the device, cut off the power supply. Do not clean it by the waterish cloth, and never use any other liquid cleaning method.

Please refer to the following description for the front panel:

LED Definitions:

LED Name Light Status Description
PWR On Switch powered on
Off Switch not powered
LINK/ACT On The port is connected to 100M network
Off The port is not connected or connected to 10M network
Flashing The port is transmitting /receiving data.

Gigabit
(GS-1008PHE)| On| There is a 1000Mbps device connected to the corresponding port.
Off| There is a 10Mbps device connected to the corresponding port, or there is no device connected to the corresponding port.
Flashing| The port is transmitting /receiving data.
PoE| On| There is a PoE PD connected to the port, which supply power successfully.
Off| No PD is connected to the corresponding port, or no power is supplied according to the power limits of the port.

Back Panel: Power Connector:
Plug in the DC power plug from provided power adaptor to the 48V DC IN jack and plug the AC power plug to the wall socket using the included power cord.
Terminal Block: Used for connection to auxiliary backup DC power, supported input voltages is DC 48V/1A.

  • Please ensure you do not exceed the PoE power budget and overload the PoE switch.

  • Make sure the PDs that you connected to the Switch are compliant with IEEE802.3af standard.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION

I. Install the switch on a level surface that can support the weight of the unit and the relevant components, and attach the rubber feet to the bottom. The rubber feet cushion the switch and helps protect the case from scratches.
II. Plug the switch into an electrical source with the provided power cord.
Regarding the installation environment, we strongly recommend:

  1. The switch should be placed in an appropriately ventilation environment. A minimum 25 mm space around the unit is recommended.
  2. The switch and the relevant components should be kept away from sources of electrical noise such as radios, transmitters and broadband amplifiers.
  3. Avoid environments with higher than recommended moisture levels.

Troubleshooting

  1. Power LED is not lit
    Check if the power cord is properly connected to the plug and the power outlet; make sure the power cord is firmly plugged into the power socket of the switch.

  2. LINK/ACT LED is not lit when connected to devices
    • Make sure the network device attached to the switch is turned on.
    • Make sure the network cable is properly connected to the switch and the network device.
    • Make sure the network cable is a UTP cable that complies with EIA/TIA 568 and Category 5 specifications.

[!] Contact your dealer if problem persist.

Appendix: The standard RJ-45 Introduction
RJ-45 Pin:
Below is an indication of a standard RJ-45 socket and plug, and definition for the pins. RJ-45 Connector pin signal:

The following shows straight cable and crossover cable connection, ordinary please use straight cable to connect switch/Hub or other devices:
Straight cable for the switch (uplink MDI-II port) to switch/Hub or other devices connection Cross over cable for switch (MDI-X port) to switch/hub or other network devices (MDI-X port) connection.
