Expanding the Powerline Network

To expand your powerline network with additional FRITZ!Powerline devices:

Plug the new FRITZ! Powerline device into an outlet near your existing powerline network.
Press the encryption button on one of the existing FRITZ! Powerline devices.
Within two minutes, press the encryption button on the new FRITZ! Powerline device.
The new device will automatically join the existing powerline network and be ready for use.

Optimizing the data rate

A powerline network is influenced by many factors. With the following steps you can contribute to an optimal data rate in your powerline network:
Insert powerline devices directly into wall outlets.
Connect multi-outlet strips to the outlet on your powerline adapter.
The data rate in a powerline network drops
for connections over multiple phases
when junction boxes are located on the path between your powerline devices
when the connection has to pass through a circuit breaker, dimmer, or ballast
whenever power drills or vacuum cleaners are used.
Attempt to minimize these inﬂuences.

Expanding the Powerline Network of the FRITZ!Powerline 530E Set

Plug the powerline device that is to expand the network into an electrical outlet.
Press the “Security” button for one second to establish a new connection.
Within 2 minutes, press the “Security” button on a powerline device already connected to your existing powerline network and hold it down for one second.
