TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM #1
The doorbell chime does not sound.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
- A. The batteries are not installed correctly.
- B. The batteries are dead.
- C. The motion sensor and doorbell chime are not synced.
- D. The code of motion sensor doesn’t match the code of doorbell chime.
SOLUTION:
-
A. Make sure the batteries are installed according to the diagram inside the motion sensor and doorbell chime.
-
B. Check the charge of the motion sensor and doorbell chime batteries and replace them if necessary.
-
C. Sync the motion sensor and doorbell chime:
Refer to installation step 2, SYNCING THE MOTION SENSOR AND DOORBELL CHIME. -
D. Ensure the code of the motion sensor matches the code of the doorbell chime. To ensure operation, they will both need to be in 100M code or 12E code. Refer to Operation step 1 for more information. Re-sync the motion sensor and chime again. (see step 2 of installation)
PROBLEM #2
The batteries seem okay, but the doorbell chime does not work after
installation.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
- A. Doorbell chime or door sensor is mounted on metal or near metal studs.
- B. Doorbell chime is mounted near a concrete floor or wall.
- C. Doorbell chime and motion sensor are installed too far apart.
SOLUTION:
- A. Metal reduces transmission range. Use 1/4 in. to 1/2 in. (6 to 13 mm) wood shims to move the doorbell chime or motion sensor away from the metal surface.
- B. Concrete may reduce range. Move the doorbell chime away from the concrete surface.
- C. Locate the doorbell chime closer to the motion sensor.
PROBLEM #3
Doorbell chime sounds when not intended (false triggers).
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
A. Doorbell chime is receiving interference from another wireless device.
SOLUTION 1:
- Convert the motion sensor and chime to 100M code (see step 1 of operation). Re-sync the motion sensor and chime again. (see step 2 of installation)
SOLUTION 2:
- If the door/window sensor and doorbell chime do not work after Solution 1, please perform a factory reset using the steps below:
The PIR motion sensor will need to be held still without motion for 15 seconds.
Press and hold ” Tune ” button of the doorbell chime for 10 seconds until the doorbell chime prompts “beep-beep- beep-beep”
To re-sync the motion sensor and doorbell chime, press and hold the “Tune” button on the doorbell chime for 3 seconds until the doorbell chime prompts a “beep-beep”.
Wave your hand in front of the motion sensor within 10 seconds, the doorbell chime will prompt “beep-beep” to indicate the motion sensor is synced.
Wave your hand in front of the motion sensor to ensure operation.
PROBLEM #4
The new motion sensor and doorbell chime do not work with existing motion
sensors and doorbell chimes.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
A. The new motion sensor and doorbell chime are not using the same codes as
existing motion sensors and doorbell chimes.
SOLUTION:
A. Ensure the code of the motion sensor matches the code of the doorbell
chime. To ensure operation, they will both need to be in 100M code or 12E
code. Refer to operation step 1 for more information. Please call
1-888-543-1388 for assistance in
changing the codes to work with the existing motion sensors and doorbell
chimes. Re-sync the motion sensor and chime again (see step 2 of
installation).
