INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALLING THE DOORBELL CHIME BATTERIES

    • Push the battery cover tab towar the battery cover and pull to remove.
    • Install the 18650 lithium battery (included) into the doorbell chime Ensure the batteries are oriented correctly.
    • Replace the battery cover on the back of the doorbell chime and fasten it with the screws (BB) provided. NOTE: In typical use, alkaline batteries will last up to one year.
  2. INSTALLING THE BATTERY TO PUSH BUTTON

    • Rotate the battery cover in the direction of “OPEN” indicated and remove it.
    • Insert the battery according to the direction shown in the figure, with the positive pole facing outward and the negative pole facing inward and replace the battery cover and rotate it in the direction of “CLOSE” indicated.
  3. TESTING THE DOORBELL BUTTON AND DOORBELL CHIME

    • Temporarily position the doorbell button and doorbell chime where they will be mounted.

    • Press the doorbell button to verify the doorbell chime and doorbell button work properly.

    • If the doorbell chime does not sound, move the doorbell chime closer to the doorbell button and test again.
      NOTE: Do not permanently mount the doorbell button until the doorbell button and doorbell chime are working properly.

    • The doorbell button and doorbell chime come synced from the factory. The range of the wireless doorbell chime can vary with location, temperature, and battery condition.

  4. MOUNTING THE DOORBELL BUTTON
    Use either screws or double-sided tape to mount the doorbell button.

    • To mount with screws, remove the back of the doorbell button by pushing in the tab on the bottom with a small screwdriver and twisting it. Place the doorbell button back on the door jamb and mark the two screw holes. Drill two 1/16 in. (1.5 mm) pilot holes. Attach with screws and snap on the front of the doorbell button.
    • When attaching the doorbell button with double-sided tape, remove the paper from both sides of the double-sided tape and apply to a clean surface.
      NOTE: Remove material in screw holes (if needed) before mounting with screws.
  5. MOUNTING THE DOORBELL CHIME

    • Use two of the screws to mount the doorbell chime.
    • Determine mounting location.
    • Drill two 7/32 in. (5.5 mm) pilot holes and insert the wall anchors.
    • Insert the screws (AA) into the wall anchors leaving about 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) of the screw threads exposed.
    • Hang the doorbell chime on the screws using the keyholes o the back of the doorbell chime.
      Note: The distance between two screws is 62mm

OPERATION

  1. ADJUSTING THE DOORBELL CHIME VOLUME
    The doorbell chime has an adjustable volume control. Press and release the “Volume” button to adjust the volume one step at a time.
    NOTE: To return the doorbell chime to maximum volume, simply double click the “Volume” button.

  2. MUTING THE DOORBELL CHIMEHeathZenith-18000206-Wireless-Doorbell-Button-\(8\) NOTE: The doorbell chime will flash the selected color each time when the door bell button is pressed regardless if the doorbell chime is muted or unmuted.
    The doorbell chime can be muted for a select period of time: full-time, 3 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, or 12 hours. The mute indicator light will turn on when the “Mute” button is pressed to indicate the amount of time the doorbell chime will be muted for.

    • Press and release the “mute” button doorbell chime to select the amount of time the doorbell chime should be muted.
    • The blue light by the selected mute period will flash every 5 to 6 seconds.
    • The mute light will jump to the next period automatically according to the remaining mute time. When it is on full-time mute, the light will remain at the 12H icon and will flash every 5 to 6 seconds.
    • To unmute the doorbell chime, press and release the “Tune” or “Volume” button.
      NOTE: The doorbell chime flashes the selected color every time you press the doorbell button, whether the doorbell chime is in silent mode or not.
  3. SELECTING THE DOORBELL CHIME LIGHT COLOR
    The doorbell chime will flash whenever the doorbell button is pressed There are 8 preset colors to choose.

    • Press and release the “Light” button to select the desired color.
      NOTE: The doorbell button and doorbell chime come synced from the factory. The range of the wireless doorbell chime can vary with location, temperature, and battery condition.
  4. ADDING MP3 TUNES TO THE DOORBELL CHIME
    Note: The selected tune will not play when this tune is under modifying when connected to the computer.

    • Connect the USB cable to the doorbell chime and the computer.
    • Locate and open the external drive folder.
    • Drag the desired MP3 file to the doorbell chime drive.
    • Disconnect (eject per computer operating system the doorbell chime from computer.
    • Remove the USB cable. NOTE: The suggested tune length is 2-15 seconds. The maximum tune length is 20 seconds. If the tune is longer than 20 seconds, only the first 20 seconds will play. 16MB available MP3 space in total.
  5. SELECTING A TUNE
    The doorbell chime allows you to customize your doorbell chime sound with 16 pre-loaded selectable tunes.

    • Press and release the “Tune” button until the desired tune is heard.

    • While the desired tune is playing, press the doorbell button to lock in the selected tune.
      NOTES: Each doorbell button can be assigned its own unique tune.

    • To listen to the selected tune, press and release the “Tune” button.

    • Doorbell chime is designed to work with up to 10 wireless doorbell buttons (sold separately).

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM #1

  • The doorbell chime does not sound.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:

  • The batteries are not installed correctly.
  • The batteries are dead.
  • The doorbell button and doorbell chime are not synced.

SOLUTION:

  • Make sure the batteries are installed according to the diagram inside the doorbell button and doorbell chime.
  • Check the charge of the doorbell button and doorbell chime batteries and replace them if necessary.
  • Sync the doorbell button and doorbell chime:
    • Press and hold the “Tune” button on the doorbell chime until the doorbell chime prompts a “beep-beep.”
    • Press the doorbell button within 10 seconds. The doorbell chime will prompt a “beep-beep” tone to indicate the doorbell button is synced.
    • Press the doorbell button to ensure operation.

PROBLEM #2

  • The batteries seem okay, but the doorbell chime does not work after installation.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:

  • Doorbell chime or doorbell button is mounted on metal or near metal studs.
  • Doorbell chime is mounted near a concrete floor or wall.
  • Doorbell chime and doorbell button are installed too far apart.

SOLUTION:

  • Metal reduces transmission range. Use 1/4 in. to 1/2 in. (6 to 13 mm) wood shims to move the doorbell chime or doorbell button away from the metal surface.
  • Concrete may reduce range. Move the doorbell chime away from the concrete surface.
  • Locate the doorbell chime closer to the doorbell button.

PROBLEM #3

  • Doorbell chime and doorbell button don’t work properly.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:

  • The doorbell chime and doorbell button are not synced from factory properly or the doorbell button is synced with other doorbell chime by chance.

SOLUTION:

  • Restore the doorbell chime and doorbell button to factory settings. Follow the below instructions:
  • Press and hold the “Tune” button on the doorbell chime until the doorbell chime prompts a “beep-beep-beep-beep.”
  • To re-sync the doorbell button and doorbell chime, press and hold the “Tune” button on the doorbell chime until the doorbell chime prompts a “beep-beep.”
  • Press the doorbell button within 10 seconds. The doorbell chime will prompts a “beep-beep” tone to indicate the doorbell button is synced.
  • Press the doorbell button to ensure operation.

PROBLEM #4

  • The new doorbell button and doorbell chime do not work with existing doorbell buttons and doorbell chimes.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:

  • The new doorbell button and doorbell chime are not using the same codes as existing doorbell buttons and doorbell chimes.

SOLUTION:

  • Make sure to use products in UltraRange™ family only to work with this new UltraRange™ wireless battery operated doorbell kit. Please call 1-888-543-1388 for assistance.
