warranty period.
Use and Storage of the User Manual
Inside this user manual, you will find information on how to use and maintain
your appliance properly, including but not limited to, safety instructions and
precautions, assembly and use instructions, troubleshooting, and warranty
conditions. Please store this user manual in an easily-accessible location for
future reference.
Intended Use
Your appliance is designed for food preparation as described in this user
manual. DO NOT use this appliance for any other purpose. This product is
intended for indoor use only. Your new appliance comes equipped with a one-
year parts and labor warranty. Please contact Magic Chef® Commercial Customer

service.

The Master Power Switch and the Light Switch are located on the back panel of the appliance.
The Mixing Motor Switch and the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch are located on
the right-hand panel of the appliance.

Electric Power
If an electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, the granita or slush machine may not operate properly. The appliance should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other operating appliances.
IMPORTANT: You must check the electrical rating on the nameplate of the appliance. The nameplate is attached on the rear of the appliance. The nameplate specification has priority over information in this manual. The electric circuit diagram of the appliance is attached to the inside of the panel. In addition, the product design and specification is subject to change without prior notice.
Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit,
the grounding plug reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape
wire for electric current. This appliance is equipped with a power cord that
has a grounding wire with a grounding plug. As a result, the plug must be
plugged into an electrical outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
This appliance requires a standard 120 Volt, 60 Hz electrical outlet with a 3-slot ground receptacle. To prevent accidental injury, the cord should be secured behind the appliance and not left exposed or dangling.
WARNING: Improper use of the grounding plug and/or outlet can result in a
risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the
grounding instructions are not completely understood.
WARNING: DO NOT cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord

Assembly
Assembling the Appliance

Attach drip tray to its original front bottom position located underneath the spout of the chamber.

Apply grease to the two piston rings and spiral using the supplied grease from the manufacturer or purchase commercially approved edible grease. (See A and B in Figure 1)

Assemble the dispenser and pull tab lever using the supplied parts. (See Figure 2)

To remove parts, release the pin and remove the pull tab lever, push down the spring and plastic piston to release then wash all parts.
CAUTION: Ensure the wide border of the gasket faces the wall. (See Figure 3)
CAUTION: Before attaching the packing cushion, apply edible grease to the inner part of the packing cushion. After assembly, apply the outer area with edible grease. -
Attach the insulation rubber sphere to the area shown in Figure 3, add the packing cushion first in front shown in Figure 4, then attach the plastic spiral properly to the packing cushion first then finishing with the attachment of the chamber. (See Figure 4)

Align the chamber and push it fully into the packing cushion and fixing latch. (See Figure 5)

After the chambers are washed and rinsed of all sterilizing solution, use a clean, damp cloth and wipe down all areas to remove any remaining liquids.
CAUTION: To reuse the appliance after an extended period of time, reapply edible grease to the packing cushion. Otherwise, noise may be heard from the appliance during operation, resulting in damages to components
Disassembling the Appliance
WARNING: Before disassembly and cleaning, disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet.

Remove the lid from the chamber.

Lift the front of the chamber upwards to unlock the latch. (See Figure 6) Then pull the chamber out towards you. (SeeFigure7)

Remove the spiral by pulling it out towards you (See Figure 8) and then remove the packing cushion. (See Figure 9)

Remove the rubber cushion. (SeeFigure10)

Disassemble the dispenser and pull tab lever as shown in the figure. (See Figure 11)

Lift the drip tray, and then pull the tray out. Empty the drip tray
This manual is intended to help you operate and maintain your new appliance properly. Keep it handy for reference purposes. This appliance requires regular cleaning and maintenance. Any disassembly or cleaning negligence or mistakes may cause the appliance to fail.
Installation
WARNING: DO NOT install the appliance near a heat generating source.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause a fire or the appliance to fail
DANGER: DO NOT install the appliance near combustible gases or inflammable materials.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause a fire or explosion due to an electric spark, resulting in serious injury or death.
CAUTION: DO NOT intentionally apply force or shock to the appliance.

WARNING: For proper ventilation, maintain a distance of at least 12 inches (30 cm) around the sides and rear of the appliance.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause a fire or the appliance to fail.
CAUTION: Firmly fix the appliance by using the adjustable leveling legs to stabilize the appliance. Adjust the vertical balance of the appliance first, and then the horizontal balance.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause vibrations and noise or the appliance to tip over, resulting in property damage or injury.
WARNING: DO NOT install the appliance near a water source as well as humid or dusty areas.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause an electric shock, fire or the appliance to fail.
CAUTION: Use extreme caution when moving the appliance.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause personal injury, property damage or the appliance to fail.
WARNING: DO NOT use outdoors; this appliance is designed for indoor use only.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause an electric shock, fire, property damage or the appliance to fail.
CAUTION: DO NOT install the appliance on a weak or uneven surface.
- If you do not follow these instructions, it may cause vibrations and noise or the appliance to tip over, resulting in property damage or injury.

Use
- Clean and sterilize the appliance parts according to the instructions in this manual. See “Care and Maintenance” on page 18.
- Fill up the granita or slush mixture up to the level specified on the chamber. NEVER overfill it. The optimal quantity (in liters or gallons) is written on the surface of the chamber.
- Make sure to completely dilute the granita or slush mixture in a separate container, then add the final mixture into the respective chamber of the appliance.
- ALWAYS follow the directions and measurements provided by the manufacturer of the syrup or mixture, to achieve the best granita or slush results.
Caution: A responsible adult should ALWAYS handle this appliance; not to
be used by children, incapacitated people or individuals with any physical
conditions.
Important: The raw mixture quantity may vary by the granita or slush type
and its sugar content. If the granita or slush touches the lid cover, reduce
the quantity of the raw mixture.
Controllers
The Master Power Switch and Light Switch are located on the back panel of the
appliance.
A. Master Power Switch
- Position “ON ( )” : All appliance functions and switches are activated. The fan motor is running.
- Position “OFF ( )” : All appliance functions are deactivated and the fan motor is no longer running
B. Light Switch
- Flip the Light Switch to activate the bulb inside the display header. If the bulb inside the display header is not lit, check whether the spring cord on the top of the cap is properly inserted and connected.
- If the life of the bulb has expired, remove the bottom panel of the cap and replace the lamp (12 V & 21 W). If the life of the lamp has expired, replace with same parts as necessary.
Each chamber is controlled by an individual Freeze/Cool Selection Switch; the chamber can be toggled between the Freeze or Cool modes. The individual Mixing Motor Switches and Freeze/Cool Selection Switches are located on the right hand panel of the appliance.
- In “Freeze” mode, the viscosity of the granita or slush mixture is controlled by the bolt on the rear of the appliance.
- In “Cool” mode, the temperature of the drink is controlled by a thermostat.
- For more information about the temperature and viscosity settings, see “Operation” below.
The switches in Figure 13 function as follows:
C. Mixing Motor Switch
- Position “OUTPUT”: The spiral motor is running and the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch is activated.
- Position “STOP”: The fan motor is turned off.
D. Freeze/Cool Selection Switch
- Position “FREEZE ( )”: The appliance is running in granita or slush mode.
- Position “STOP ( )”: The “Freeze” and “Cool” modes are deactivated.
- Position “COOL ( )”: The appliance is operating in refrigeration mode
Operation
- Place the Master Power Switch in the position “ON ( )”.
- Place the Mixing Motor Switch in the position “OUTPUT”.
- Set the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch as follows:
- Place the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch in the position “FREEZE ( )” to make granita or slush.
- Place the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch in the position “COOL ( )” to refrigerate beverages.
Care and Maintenance
IMPORTANT : Only procedural instructions are provided in this manual.
- To ensure optimal performance and taste, the appliance should be periodically cleaned and sterilized.
- Before disassembly and cleaning, be sure to remove all granita or slush mixtures from the chambers by following these steps:
- Place the Master Power Switch in the position “ON ( )”.
- Place the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch in the position “STOP ( )”.
- Place containers beneath each dispenser and extract all granita or slush mixtures from the chambers.
- Once the chambers are empty, place all control switches in the position “STOP ( )”.
- Daily maintenance: Remove and clean the inner parts including the base, side panels, and condenser.
- To prevent damage to the appliance, apply edible grease on all surface areas of the respective parts described in this manual.
- Keep the appliance and condenser properly cleansed and maintained at all times.
Cleaning The Appliance
WARNING : This appliance is NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. DO NOT wash any parts using a dishwasher.

Prepare a cleaning solution mixed with five liters of warm water and dish detergent. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean any part of the appliance.

After cleaning the chambers, activate the supply switch to extract the cleaning solution.
-
Frequently empty the remaining mixture in the chambers by refilling and draining the chambers with more cleaning solution.
CAUTION: Deactivate the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch. It may cause the spiral to freeze or the motor to fail.
WARNING: To prevent damage to the appliance, use nonabrasive dish detergent when cleaning plastic parts. -
Use the proper brushes to wash the disassembled parts using the cleaning solution.
CAUTION: When cleaning the appliance, avoid any water contact with electrically running parts. It may cause the appliance to fail or electric shock. -
DO NOT spill any liquid on the cover of the motor located on the rear of the appliance.

Use a soft bristle brush to clean the cylinder of the evaporator.
-
Use clean, cold water when rinsing all the parts.
-
Be sure to remove and clean the screen filter located on the side panel on a monthly basis using lukewarm water at around 77°F/25.0°C or with a neutral detergent solution. Dry the filter and reinstall it into its original position. If proper ventilation is not maintained, dust will accumulate and eventually appliance failure may follow, resulting expenses not covered under warranty.
Cleaning The Condenser
- Slide out the side filter screen, using a screw driver remove the screw located at the bottom panel, then remove the side panel to clean the condenser.
- Use a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush to remove all dirt and build up from the condenser.
Sterilizing The Appliance
The appliance should be sterilized before operating. After sterilizing the
appliance, DO NOT let it sit for an
extended period of time.
- Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap.
- According to food safety regulations and manufacturer specifications, prepare five liters of warm (113°F/45.0°C to 140°F/60.0°C), sterilizing solution consisting of a tablespoon of chloride condense liquefaction or sodium chlorate diluted with two liters of water (100 ppm).
- Soak all removable parts in the sterilizing solution for five minutes.
- Place the sterilized parts on a clean and dry area for drying.
- Wipe down all the surfaces of the appliance.
- DO NOT spill any liquid on the cover of the motor that is located on the rear of the appliance.
Sterilizing The Chambers
The assembled chambers and its respective parts should be properly sterilized
and thoroughly rinsed with
clean, cold water before use.
- According to food safety regulations and manufacturer specification, prepare five liters of warm (113°F/45.0°C to 140°F/60.0°C) sterilizing solution (remaining chloride 100 or bleach).
- Fill the chamber with sterilizing solution.
- Use nonabrasive brushes to wipe the surfaces projected above the solution level and the lower area of the chamber immersed with the sterilizing solution.
- Attach the chamber cover and operate the appliance to mix the sterilizing solution for about two minutes. Drain the sterilizing solution from the chamber via the dispenser.
- Use fresh, clean water to remove the remaining sterilizing solution from within and on the surface of the chamber. Afterwards, DO NOT rinse the sterilized parts again
Repairs
CAUTION: Repairs are to be performed by a certified commercial appliance
technician only.
- Only allow a certified commercial appliance technician to service the unit for any mechanical problems.
- Any service call or technician that operates on the appliance without the prior consent or authorization from the manufacturer will void the warranty and compressor terms expressed in this user manual
TROUBLESHOOTING
You can solve many common appliance problems easily, saving you the cost of a possible service call. Try the suggestions below to see if you can solve the problem before calling for service
Failure | Cause | Action |

The Master Power Switch is turned off.| Turn on the Master Power Switch.
The fuse is blown.| Replace the fuse.
If the spiral rotation has stopped and it is generating noise.| The spiral is
frozen due to low sugar levels in the granita or slush mix.| Turn off the
Master Power Switch and allow the ice to melt. DO NOT use a sharp tool such as
an ice pick. Once the ice has melted, retry using a granita or slush mixture
with higher levels of sugar.
The spiral and chamber is deformed due to use of hot water (176°F/80.0°C)
while cleaning and sterilizing the appliance.| Replace the spiral and chamber.
Spiral rotation shaft wear (wear of the part that meets the spiral rotation
shaft in the middle of the cylinder).| Replace the spiral.
The granita or slush mixture does not come out from the dispenser.| The
granita or slush mixture level is too low.| Fill the granita or slush mixture
up to three liters.
The granita or slush mixture is frozen.| Adjust the control screw on the cover
of the motor, located on the rear of the appliance.
The granita or slush is not formed.| The the granita or slush mixture level is
too low.| Replace the granita or slush mixture with a 13.0% to 15.0% sugar
level.
The Freeze/Cool Selection Switch is set to Stop or “Cool”.| Set the
Freeze/Cool Selection Switch to “Freeze”.
The granita or slush mixture is frozen.| The Freeze/Cool Selection Switch is
continuously set to “Freeze”.| Set the Freeze/Cool Selection Switch to “Cool”
or Stop. The switch needs to be toggled between “Freeze” and “Cool”to maintain
an optimal granita or slushtemperature.
The sound of water flowing is heard during operation.| The refrigerant is
activated during operation of the appliance.| Nothing; the appliance is
operating normally.
LIMITED WARRANTY
This warranty is subject to all of the terms and conditions stated below.
Warranty Claim
Proof of purchase, model number of the unit, the serial number of the cabinet,
date of installation, and all pertinent information supporting the existence
of the alleged defect must be supplied to validate warranty, and all claims
for labor or parts must be made directly through Magic Chef Commercial.
In case of warranty on compressors, Magic Chef Commercial will request the
compressor to be returned or otherwise, the compressor model tag must be
returned to Magic Chef Commercial along with all the above listed information.
Any action or breach of these warranty provisions must be commenced within (1)
year after that cause of action has occurred
What Is Not Covered By This Warranty
- Magic Chef Commercial is not responsible for food spoilage, loss of sales, consequential damages, or any shipping or disposal costs related to the failure of the product.
- This warranty is not assignable and honorable only to the original purchaser.
- This warranty does not apply to any part which has been subject to misuse, neglect, alteration, stolen, accident, or to damage caused by transportation, flood, fire, or acts of God
- This warranty does not cover for parts or labor for component failure or other damages resulting from improper usage or installation or failure to clean and maintain product as stated in the warranty packet provided with the unit.
One Year Parts & Labor Warranty
The original purchaser/user of every new Magic Chef Commercial refrigerated
unit warrants the cabinet and all parts thereof, to be free from defects in
material and workmanship. Upon proper installation, start-up, and operation in
accordance with the instruction packet supplied with each Magic Chef
Commercial unit, warranty is limited to a period of (1) year from the date of
purchase.
Any part covered under the terms of this warranty that are determined by Magic
Chef Commercial to have been defective within (1) year of purchase, is limited
to the repair or replacement of defective parts or assemblies including labor
charges.
Five Year Compressor Warranty
Magic Chef Commercial warrants its sealed compressor for (5) year to be free
from defects in both material and workmanship under proper use and maintenance
service.
Compressors determined by Magic Chef Commercial to have been defective within
this extended warranty will, at Magic Chef Commercial’s option, be either
repaired or replaced with a compressor or compressor parts of similar design
and capacity.
Labor/travel charges’ to replace the compressor or beyond the initial one year
warranty are not covered.
This extended warranty does not apply to any other parts or components,
including any electrical controls, accumulator, wiring harness, etcetera which
are covered by standard warranty.
R-134A or R-404A Compressor Warranty
The five-year compressor warranty stated above will be terminated if the
following procedure is not carefully adhered to:
- This system contains R-134A or R-404A refrigerant and polyester lubricant which has rapid moisture absorbing qualities. The lubricant must be removed and replaced with a new one if there is long exposure to the ambient conditions.
- Drier must be changed with a new drier with the same capacity when a system is opened for servicing.
- 500 microns or lower micron level vacuums must be achieved to insure low moisture levels in the system
A copy of the dated sales receipt / invoice is required to receive warranty service
Return Policy
- 5% re-stock fee on all orders returned with original packaging and pallet. This only includes order with buyers remorse or changed mind This does not apply to service related issues This does not apply to freight damages

- We are not responsible for any freight costs related to buyers remorse.
- Warranty is only valid in USA, continental states only. Alaska & Hawaii or any neighboring islands are void.
