OPERATIONAL SAFETY
FAILURE TO UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY RULES AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

This portable work platform is designed to support a maximum load of 250 lb
(113 kg).
PROPER SETUP
- Before using the plank, check that all parts function properly and there is no damage. Make sure rivets and joints are secure and tight.
- A damaged plank shall be removed immediately from service and shall not be used until repairs have been completed and tested by the manufacturer.
- If the plank is exposed to excessive heat or fire, it shall be removed immediately from service and destroyed due to loss of structural strength.
- DO NOT apply impact loads to the plank. NEVER attempt to straighten a deformed plank section or part.
- Oil, grease or any other slippery material shall not be permitted on the surface of the plank.
- Users shall never use the planks when it is covered with ice or snow, unless all ice and snow is removed and the plank is spread with sand to prevent slipping.
- Users shall never use the plank during storms or high winds.
- Keep your footwear dry and clean. Footwear with leather soles shall NOT be worn whilst using the plank. Wear slip-resistant shoes.
- Do NOT use the plank for cantilever applications. NEVER stand on the part of the plank that extends beyond the supporting point of the ladder.
- Ropes and other binding materials shall NEVER be used to suspend the plank.
- Free-standing plank supports with a height to base ratio of more than 4:1 must be prevented from tipping by securing with ropes or other steadying means.
- The total combined weight of each user and materials shall NOT exceed the rated working load. DO NOT overload.
- The ends of the plank must be properly supported and exceed the supports no less than 12 in. (30 cm) and no more than 18 in. (45 cm).
- The plank shall only be used when the work surface is level.
- The support footing for the plank trestles shall be rigid, secure and capable of carrying the maximum intended load without displacement or settling.
- Unstable objects, such as barrels, boxes, loose bricks or concrete blocks shall not be used to support this plank.
- Only extend the plank sections when on the ground, NEVER by bouncing while on the supports.
- DO NOT extend/retract the plank while standing on it.
- Tag lines shall be attached to materials hoisted onto the plank.
- Unstable objects, such as barrels, boxes, loose bricks, tools and debris shall not be allowed to accumulate on the plank.
- Safety harnesses and fall prevention lifelines shall be used by each user if the plank is used more than 10 ft (3 m) above the ground or floor. The lifelines must be secured to a suitable structural member other than the one of the plank.
- Setup and keep the plank close to the work. Avoid pushing or pulling while on the plank. DO NOT overreach.
- Overhead protection shall be provided to users on the plank when in the vicinity of overhead hazards.
- DO NOT use ladders or other items to attain greater heights when on the plank.
- Do not use planks if you tire easily or are subject to fainting spells, or are using medication or alcohol, or are physically impaired.
- Never climb onto the plank from another ladder unless both the plank and the ladder are secured firmly from moving or shifting in all directions.
- When moving the plank, DO NOT use the plank to ride on or transport tools and equipment.
- DO NOT alter or remove any part or device that limits the minimum or maximum length of the plank.
- DO NOT setup and leave the plank unattended when children are present.
- DO NOT setup the plank where objects may strike the plank eg. in front of doors and windows.
- NEVER apply an impacting or prying force to the plank or drop items onto the plank.
- DO NOT use the plank near acids or corrosive substances or any other material that could damage the plank.
PROPER CARE AND STORAGE
- Store the plank in a safe and dry place.
- The plank shall be secured when being transported.
- NEVER store materials on the plank.
- Keep the plank free and clean of any foreign materials.
- Destroy plank if broken, worn or if exposed to fire or chemical corrosion.
