Product Usage Instructions

Safety Information
Before using the heater for the first time, please read and follow the safety information provided in the manual.

Locating Heater
When installing the heater, ensure the following minimum distances:

• Side to wall: 13 inches
• Back to wall: 24 inches
• Discharge (front) to any object: 13 inches
• Minimum clearance to ceiling when not using mounting brackets: 1 5/8 inches

Installation Warning
If the heater is to be turned and wire is inside conduit, follow these steps:

1. Slide the 8 gauge wire into the conduit.
2. Connect the conduit connector to the heater.

If the heater is to be connected with NM Cable, follow these steps:

1. Connect the flexible NM cable connector to the heater.

If the heater is to be connected with Flexible Conduit, follow these steps:

1. Connect the flexible conduit connector to the heater.

Note the wiring connections:

• Black wire (hot) to terminal L1
• White wire (hot) to terminal L2
• Green wire (ground) to the grounding screw

Operating Instructions
To turn the heater off, press the power button. The heating element will stop working immediately, but the fan will continue to run for some time to help cool the heater down.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Power failure or circuit breaker has been tripped (power icon lights off)
Possible Cause: Check for power failure. Make sure the heater is connected to a circuit breaker at 63Amp. Disconnect other parallel connections(if any). Then reset the breaker and turn on the heater.

Problem: Heater is in Lock Mode (LOC on display)
Possible Cause: Press the POWER button on the control panel (not the remote control) for 10 seconds to quit the lock mode.

Problem: The heater is set on fan only mode (FA on display). Blow cold air only.
Possible Cause: Press the HEATER button to switch from FA to AU, namely enter the auto mode.

Problem: Heater does not heat or stops working suddenly.

• Possible Cause: The set temperature is lower than the room temperature (power icon lights on). Room temperature reaches the set temperature, the thermostat control turns off the heater (fan keeps running for 60 more seconds).
• Solution: Press the HEATER button to enter the auto mode (AU), adjust and set the temperature higher than the room temperature. This is not a product defectiveness. Wait for the room temperature drops below the set temperature. The heater will start working again.

Problem: Heater were switched onto external thermostat setting.
Possible Cause: Check the thermostat switch on the back of the heater. Switch it back onto the built-in thermostat position.

Problem: The thermostat sensor is disconnected. EE on display.
Possible Cause: Disconnect power, then open the bottom panel to reconnect the thermostat sensor.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before installing or using this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
4. Always turn off the power of heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate any heater with the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Disconnect power at the service panel and have the heater inspected by a professional before reusing.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
8. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
9. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
10. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
11. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
12. To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, and turn off power supply to the heater circuit at main disconnect panel.
13. If the red alarm light is on, immediately turn the heater off and inspect for any objects on or adjacent to the heater that may have blocked the airflow or otherwise caused high temperatures rise.

PET OWNERS WARNING: The health of some small pets including birds are extremely sensitive to the fumes produced during the first-time use of many appliances. These fumes are not harmful to humans but we recommend that you do not use your heater around birds and small pets during its initial use until the manufacturing corrosion coatings burn off.

SPECIFICATIONS

SAFETY INFORMATION WARNING
A This heater requires hardwire installation (no plug). The installation of this product must be carried out by a certified electrician and in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.

NOTE: Compatible with a 240V Line Voltage Double Pole Wall Thermostat. Must be installed by a Certified Electrician. Read and understand all installation & operation instructions prior to operating this unit. Observe all safety instructions.

1. Use only copper wires rated for at least 60°C.
2. Heater air flow must be directed parallel to or away from the adjacent wall.
3. Observe all wall, floor and ceiling clearance requirements.
4. All wiring must be done according to national and local electrical codes. The heater must be grounded as a precaution against possible electrical shock. Heater circuit must be protected with proper fuses.
5. The mounting structure and the anchoring hardware must be capable of supporting the weight of the heater and the mounting bracket (if used).
6. All electrical power must be disconnected at the main service box, which must be locked before connecting, inspecting, cleaning or servicing the heater. This is an important precaution to prevent serious electric shock.
7. This heater is not suitable for use in hazardous locations containing explosive liquids or vapors. This heater has hot or arcing or sparking pads inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.
8. This heater is not suitable for use in corrosive atmospheres such as marine greenhouses or chemical storage areas.
9. This heater must be mounted at least 8 feet off the floor. For specific clearances, please see next page.

Improper installation or failure to follow the procedures outlined in this instruction manual can result in serious electrical shock.

LOCATING HEATER
Install heater away from traffic areas, maintaining clearances stated in figure 2 (below). The air flow direction should not be restricted (ie. by columns or machinery). The air flow should wipe exposed walls rather than blowing directly on them. When more than one heater is used in an area, heaters should be installed so that the air discharge of each heater supports the air flow of the others, to provide best warm air circulation as shown in Figure 3. INSTALLATION

MOUNTING THE BRACKE (Refer to Figure 4a and 4b.)

1. Locate a stud in the ceiling joist
2. Drill a ¼” pilot hole in ceiling joints. Place a washer on screws before thread through the mounting bracket, and screw tight into a ceiling joist. NOTE: If you want to swivel the heater either to the right or left, adding a washer to both sides of the bracket is recommended. A longer Lag bolt may be required to properly secure the unit (see 4a).
3. Tighten screws enough to secure the heating unit with air flow pointed to desired direction.

HANGING THE HEATER

1. Attach the heating unit to the mounting bracket.
2. Align the bracket screws with the keyhole slots in the mounting bracket.
3. If the heater is to be tilted, It must be positioned in the keyhole slots (see Figure 5)
4. Hand-tighten the bracket screws to secure the heater at the desired direction.

ADJUSTING AIR FLOW DIRECTION

1. Turn the unit horizontally – ONLY if the heater were mounted with a single lag bolt, as shown in figure 4a. Simply turn the entire heater to the desired direction.

2. To tilt the unit vertically – Adjust the hand- tight screw on the heater to the desired angle,as shown in figure 5
   NOTE: For the heater to be tilted vertically, it must be mounted in bottom keyhole slots of mounting brackets to maintain adequate clearance and prevent possible overheating.

3. Adjust louvers to the desired position (see Fig. 6).

NOTE: The louvers are designed so they cannot be completely closed. DO NOT attempt to bypass this feature, or damage to the unit can result.

WARNING
To prevent possible electric shock, disconnect power to the heater at the main service box before attempting to adjust the heat output of this unit.

MULTIPLE VERTICAL ANGLES

CONNECTING THE POWER

1. Remove the screw from the front of the unit to connect the power to the heater.

2. Attach the cable connectors to the unit (See Figure 7) and slide the 8 gauge wire through the cable connector.
   NOTE : This appliance must be grounded.
   NOTE : Proper size fuses and circuit breakers in accordance with the National Electric Code must be used.
   NOTE : The appliance must be connected to a 63Amp current protection circuit breaker before being connected to power supply!
   NOTE : For certain applications, conduit may be required (See Figure 6). Check local electrical codes. If you run the wiring in conduit and wish to be able to turn the heater be sure to purchase enough flexible conduit to allow the heater to be turned

3. Pull wire at proper length through cable connector and connect the wire to the power terminal located at the bottom of the heater (see Figure 8).
   NOTE :

4. Black wire(hot) to terminal L1;

5. White wire(hot) to terminal L2;

6. Green wire(ground) to the grounding screw.

7. If an external external thermostat were preferred to use, please follow below diagram.
   Note : The external thermostat must be in accordance with the requirement of UL or CSA standard.
   Note : The lead wire of external thermostat can not be less than 22AWG.
   Note : All wiring must be carried out by a certified electrician and must be in accordance to national and local electrical codes.
   WARNING: DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE WIRE CONNECTING, SERVICING.

8. Turn on the power at the main service.(240V or 208V, 60Hz, single phase)
   Note : When turning the heater off after it heats for more than 3 seconds, the heating element will stop working immediately while the fan will continue to run for 60 seconds to help cool the heater down.

WARNING High temperatures – risk of fire. Keep flammable materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) from the front and top of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
WARNING To reduce the risk of fire, do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.
WARNING This product can expose you to chemicals including disonony, phthalate (DiN?) which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and Di-iso-decyl phthalates (DIUP) which is known to the State of California to cause development harm. For more information, go to www.p65Warnings.ca.gov

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING A The heater must be properly installed before it is used.

Main Power Button(1 &R1)
(1)on the control panel: a. short press to turn the heater ON and OFF b. when the heater is working, press this button for 10 seconds, the heater enters the Lock Mode(with 1 beep sound). The Heater Control Button(2&2), Temperature Control Button(3&3R) on the control plate and the remote control will not work. With screen on, press for another 10 seconds to quit the Lock Mode(with 1 beep sound). Please note the Lock Mode can be triggered ONLY on the control panel board. It won’t work on the remote control. (R1) on the remote control: a short press to turn the heater ON and OFF

Heater Control Button(2 &R2)
(2)on the control panel; (R2) on the remote control: Press this button to cycle as OFF→FA→AU/H/L “OFF”means the thermostat is not activated and temperature reading cannot be changed up or down. ‘FA” means the fan runs with no heat output. “AU “indicate the heater entered the Auto Mode, the thermostat is activated. “L”means the heater is working on its lower heating set(5600W). “H”means the heater is working on its higher heating set(8500W)

Note: when the thermostat set temperature is 4°C(or 4°F) , or less, higher than the ambient temperature, the heater works on “L” heating set; when the thermostat set temperature is 6°C(or 6ºF) ,or more, higher than the ambient temperature, the heater works on “H” heating set.

Temperature Control Button (3 &R3)
(3)on the control panel: a.In the Auto Mode, Press these buttons to increase/decrease set temperature(by 2°F /1°C increment) or timer(by 1h increment) b. Press the button for 5 seconds, the temperature readings switch between °C and °F.

(R3) on the Remote Control
Press this button to increase set temperature( 2ºF /1°C increment) or timer(1h increment). Press this button to decrease set temperature ( 2°F /1°C increment) or timer (1h increment).

Note: The default temperature is 77°F(25°C) . If there is no power outage occur, when the heater is turned on again, it will keep the thermostat temperature set during last use. If there is power outage, it will switch back to the default.

Timer Button(4 &R4)
(4)on the control panel: (R4) on the Remote Control: Press this button to set the timer (off-1H-2H-3H-4H-5H-6H-7H-8H). Once the set timer expires, the garage will shut down automatically.

Note: On its first press, the timer function is off and the screen won’t lit.

Digital Display Screen(5)
The digital display screen shows temperature reading, function indicator, error code etc. When the heater is working with display screen off, press any function button one time, the digital screen will be woken up and show the ambient temperature. Press the same function button for the second time, the heater will enter the its function mode. If no operation(button press) proceed in 5 seconds, the display screen will go off.

Fahrenheit/Celsius Button(R5)
The default temperature shows °F (Fahrenheit). Press this button to switch between °C and °F. Thermostat Switch(6) Find this switch on the back of the heater. This heater is designed with a built-in thermostat for power saving. If an external thermostat were preferred to use. Connect the external thermostat to the heater as instructed by a certified technician. Then switch this button to “External Thermostat”

Featured Function

• Over-heat Protection The heater will automatically shut off when overheat. All the icon on the display panel will light off. Should the unit overheat, the cause of the overheating MUST be diagnosed and rectified before further operation.
• Heating Element Protection When shutting down the heater after it heats for more than 3 seconds, the heating element will stop working while the fan will keep running for 60 seconds.

MAINTENANCE

1. Before cleaning, make sure the power has been turned off at the circuit breaker panel and the heating element of the heater is cool throughly.
2. For daily cleaning, wipe the unit with a dry duster regularly. If not used for a long period, wipe the unit with damp cloth. But always remember DO NOT PROCEED ANY CLEANING BEFORE THE HEATER TOTALLY COOLED DOWN.
3. Do not use abrasive clearing powders or furniture polish. Do not use chemical or abrasive products, metallic scourers and so on, which may deteriorate the surface, to clean the appliance.
4. During the summer months, or at other times when the appliance is not in use, disconnect the power supply, and cover the whole appliance with a dust- cloth. Moreover, keep the appliance in a dry and cool place.
5. All other servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel. Do not try to repair or alter the heater yourself.

Note: The motor is permanently lubricated, and no further lubrication is needed.

TROUBLESHOOTING

NOTE: This heater is a convectional heater which circulator air and heat the entire space, not a single spot/direction the fan blows at. The heat might be hard to feel if stays 11 feet away from the the heater air outlets. This is not a productive defectiveness.
