KEYPAD FEATURE INSTRUCTIONS
Clock Clock The Clock uses a 12 hour cycle.

1. Check that the oven is off.
2. Press Clock.
3. Press Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to set the time of day.
4. Press Clock or START.
Light| Oven cavity light| The oven light is controlled by a keypad on the oven control panel. While the oven door is closed, press the Light switch to turn the light on and off. The oven light will come on when the oven door is opened.
Timer Set·Off| Oven Timer| The Timer can be set in hours or minutes up to 12 hours and 59 minutes.
1. Press Timer Set·Off.
2. Press Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to set the length of time.
3. Press START to begin the countdown. If enabled, Timer tone(s) will sound at the end of countdown.
4. Press Timer Set·Off twice to cancel the Timer. Do not press the CANCEL keypad because the oven will turn off.
5. If the Timer is running, but not in the display, press Timer Set·Off to display the countdown for 5 seconds.
START| Cooking start| The START pad begins any oven function. If START is not pressed within 5 seconds, “PUSH” appears in the display. If START is not pressed within 1 minute after pressing a keypad, the function is canceled and the time of day is displayed.
CANCEL| Range function| The CANCEL keypad stops any function except the Clock, Timer and Oven Control Lockout.
Temp/Time| Temperature and time adjust| The “up” or “down” arrow pads are used to adjust time and temperature settings.
Bake| Baking and
roasting| 1. Press Bake.
2. Press Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to set a temperature other than 350°F
(175°C) in 5°F (5°C) increments between 170°F and 500°F (75°C and 260°C).
3. Press START.
4. To change the temperature repeat step 2. press START or wait 5 seconds for the
change to take effect.
5. Press CANCEL when finished.

Broil| Broiling| 1. Press Broil.
2. Press Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to change the temperature in 5°F (5°C)
increments between 300°F and 500°F (150°C and 260°C).
3. Press START, and allow oven to preheat for 5 minutes.
4. Position cookware in oven and close the oven door.
5. Press CANCEL when finished.
Keep Warm| Hold warm| Food must be at serving temperature before placing it in the warmed oven.
1. Press Keep Warm.
2. Temperature is set at 170°F (75°C) for 60 minutes (1.00 hour).
3. Press START.
4. Press CANCEL when finished.
NOTE: The oven will automatically turn off after 60 minutes.
No Preheat Frozen| Prepackaged
food| 1. Position the food on a flat rack in the oven on rack position 4. See the “Positioning
Racks and Bakeware” section.
NOTE: Cook only 1 package of frozen food at a time when using No Preheat Frozen.
2. Press No Preheat Frozen Lasagna or Pizza.
3. Press the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow keypad to set the temperature as
recommended on the food packaging.
4. Press START.
5. Press the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow keypad to set the maximum cook time as
recommended on the food packaging.
6. Press START.
NOTE: The cook time that appears in the display is the estimated required cook time as
calculated by the oven control. It may be different than the time you entered. A beep will
alert you to check the food’s doneness with at least 2 minutes remaining on the Timer. To
add more time, press the “up” arrow keypad and press START. The time entered is added
to the remaining time.
7. Press START to start the calculated time.
8. At the end of the cook time, a beep will alert you to check the food’s doneness. To add
more time, press the “up” arrow keypad and press START. Unless more time is
selected, the Bake element turns off.
NOTE: The convection fan will shut off when the oven door is opened. If the oven door
remains open for too long, the heating elements will shut off until the oven door is closed.
All Timers, including any active Cook Time or Timed Cook functions, will continue to count
down.
Delay Start| Delayed start| The Delay Start keypad is used to enter the starting time for an oven function with a
delayed start. Delay Start should not be used for foods such as breads and cakes
because they may not bake properly.
To set a Timed Cook or a Delayed Timed Cook, see “Cook Time” section.
Cook Time| Timed
cooking| Timed cooking allows the oven to be set to turn on at a certain time of day, cook for a set
length of time, and/or shut off automatically.

Self Clean| Self-Cleaning
cycle| See the “Self-Cleaning Cycle” section in the Owner’s Manual.
Control Lock
(Hold 3 Sec)| Oven Control
Lockout| 1. Check that the oven is off.
2. Press and hold Control Lock for 3 seconds.
3. A tone will sound and a lock will be displayed.
4. Repeat to unlock. Only the Clock, Oven Light and Timer Set·Off keypads will function
with the controls locked. The cooktop functions are not affected by the oven Control
Lockout.

Surface Temperatures

When the range is in use, all range surfaces may become hot, such as the knobs and oven door.
Storage Drawer
When the oven is in use, the drawer may become hot. Do not store plastics, cloth, or other items that could melt or burn in the drawer.
Oven Vent
The oven vent releases hot air and moisture from the oven, and should not be blocked or covered. Do not set plastics, paper, or other items that could melt or burn near the oven vent.

Sealed Surface Burners

A. Burner cap
B. Burner base

E. Gas tube opening

IMPORTANT: Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air around the burner grate edges.
Burner cap: Always keep the burner cap in place when using a surface burner. A clean burner cap will help avoid poor ignition and uneven flames. Always clean the burner cap after a spillover and routinely remove and clean the caps according to the “General Cleaning” section in the Owner’s Manual.
Alignment: Be sure to align the gas tube opening in the burner base with the orifice holder on the cooktop and the igniter electrode with the notch in the burner base.
Gas tube opening: Gas must flow freely throughout the gas tube opening for the burner to light properly. Keep this area free of soil and do not allow spills, food, cleaning agents, or any other material to enter the gas tube opening. Keep spillovers out of the gas tube opening by always using a burner cap.

ports

Burner ports: Check burner flames occasionally for proper size and shape as shown in the previous illustration. A good flame is blue in color, not yellow. Keep this area free of soil and do not allow spills, food, cleaning agents or any other material to enter the burner ports.
To Clean:
IMPORTANT: Before cleaning, make sure all controls are OFF and the oven and cooktop are cool. Do not use oven cleaners, bleach or rust removers.

  1. Remove the burner cap and the burner base, and clean according to “General Cleaning” section in the Owner’s Manual.

  2.  Clean the gas tube opening with a damp cloth.

  3. Clean clogged burner ports with a straight pin as shown.
    Do not enlarge or distort the port. Do not use a wooden toothpick. If the burner needs to be adjusted, contact a trained repair specialist.

  4. Replace the burner cap, making sure the alignment pins are properly aligned with the burner cap.

  5. Turn on the burner. If the burner does not light, check cap alignment. If the burner still does not light, do not service the sealed burner yourself. Contact a trained repair specialist.

Cookware

IMPORTANT: Do not leave empty cookware on a hot surface cooking area, element or surface burner.
Ideal cookware should have a flat bottom, straight sides and a well-fitting lid, and the material should be of medium-to-heavy thickness.
Rough finishes may scratch the cooktop or grates/coils. Aluminum and copper may be used as a core or base in cookware. However, when used as a base they can leave permanent marks on the surfaces.
Cookware material is a factor in how quickly and evenly heat is transferred, which affects cooking results. A nonstick finish has the same characteristics as its base material. For example, aluminum cookware with a nonstick finish will take on the properties of aluminum. Cookware with nonstick surfaces should not be used under the broiler. Check for flatness by placing the straight edge of a ruler across the bottom of the cookware. While you rotate the ruler, no space or light should be visible between it and the cookware.

Use the following chart as a guide for cookware material characteristics.

• Ideal results on low to medium heat settings.
Copper| •  Heats very quickly and evenly.
•  May leave copper residues, which may be diminished if cleaned immediately after cooking.
Earthenware/
Stoneware| •  Follow manufacturer’s instructions.
• Use on low heat settings.
Porcelain enamel-onsteel or cast iron| • See stainless steel or cast iron.
Stainless steel| • Heats quickly, but unevenly.
• A core or base of aluminum or copper on stainless steel provides even heating.

For best results, the cookware should be centered above the burner with the bottom sitting level on the grate. The flame should be adjusted so that it does not extend up the sides of the pan.

Home Canning

When canning for long periods, alternate the use of surface burners between batches. This allows time for the most recently used areas to cool.

  • Center the canner on the grate above the burner.
  • Do not place canner on 2 surface burners at the same time.
  •  For more information, contact your local agricultural extension office or refer to published home canning guides. Companies that manufacture home canning products can also offer assistance.

OVEN USE

The normal operation of the range will include several noises that may be heard each time the bake burners ignite during the cooking cycle:

  • Gas valves may make a “popping” sound when opening or closing.
  • Igniters will “click” several times until a flame is sensed.
  •  A “poof” sound is heard when a bake or broil burner ignites.
    Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is used the first few times or when it is heavily soiled.
    IMPORTANT: The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off. Exposure to the fumes may result in death to certain birds. Always move birds to another closed and well-ventilated room.

Electronic Oven Controls

Control Display
The display will flash when powered up or after a power loss.
Press CANCEL to clear. When oven is not in use, the time of day is displayed. Indicator lights show functions that are in use.
Options Mode
Press and hold Timer Set·Off for 5 seconds, and “Opt” will appear.
Use the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to cycle through the following options. Press CANCEL to exit the mode.
Fahrenheit and Celsius
The temperature is preset at Fahrenheit, but can be changed to Celsius. Press Timer Set·Off to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Press CANCEL to exit.
End-of-Cycle Tone
“b1” (beep once) or “b” (continue to beep) will be displayed. Press Timer Set·Off to toggle through selections. Press CANCEL to exit.
Oven Light with Door Open
“LOn” indicates that the oven light will turn on when the door is open. If “LOFF” is displayed, the oven light will turn on only with the oven light switch. Press Timer Set·Off to toggle through selection. Press CANCEL to exit.
12-Hour Shutoff
If “12 Hr” is displayed, the oven will automatically shut off after 12 hours. Press Timer Set·Off to toggle to “- – Hr” to disable the 12hour shutoff. Press CANCEL to exit.
Tones
Tones are audible signals, indicating the following:

One Tone

  • Valid keypad press.
  •  Oven is preheated (long tone).
  •  Function has been entered.
  •  Reminder (on some models), repeating every 20 seconds after the end-of-cycle tones.

Three Tones

  • Invalid keypad press.

Four Tones

  •  End of cycle
    On some models: Use the clock keypad to change the tone settings.

Oven Temperature Offset Control
IMPORTANT: Do not use a thermometer to measure oven temperature. Elements will cycle on and off as needed to provide consistent temperature but may run slightly hot or cool at any point in time due to this cycling. Most thermometers are slow to react to temperature change and will not provide an accurate reading due to this cycling.
The oven provides accurate temperatures; however, it may cook faster or slower than your previous oven, so the temperature can be adjusted to personalize it for your cooking needs. It can be changed to Fahrenheit or Celsius.
To Adjust Oven Temperature:

  1. Press and hold BAKE for 5 seconds until the oven display shows the current setting, for example “0°F CAL” or “00.”
  2.  Press the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to increase or to decrease the temperature in 10°F (5°C or 6°C) amounts. The adjustment can be set between 30°F (17°C) and -30°F (-17°C).
  3. Press START.

Sabbath Mode
The Sabbath Mode sets the oven to remain on in a Bake setting until turned off. A Timed Bake can also be set to keep the oven on for only part of the Sabbath. The Oven Control Lockout Feature (if present) will be disabled during the Sabbath Mode. After the Sabbath Mode is set no tones will sound, the display will not show the temperature, the Kitchen Timer Mode will be canceled (if active) and only the following pads will function:

  • “up” or “down” arrow pads
  • CANCEL

When the oven door is opened or closed, the oven light will not turn on or off and the heating elements will not turn on or off immediately.
When power is restored after a power failure, the oven will return to Sabbath Mode and remain Sabbath compliant with the bake elements off until the CANCEL keypad is pressed. Pressing the CANCEL keypad at any time returns the oven to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath Mode compliant). Before entering the Sabbath Mode, it must be decided if the oven light is to be on or off for the entire Sabbath Mode period. If the light is on when entering Sabbath Mode, it will remain on for the entire time Sabbath Mode is in use. If the light is off when entering Sabbath Mode, it will remain off for the entire time Sabbath Mode is in use. Opening the oven door or pressing the Light keypad will not affect the oven light once Sabbath Mode has been entered. If the oven has the Convection Bake feature, the oven light is controlled by a separate Oven Light switch on the console. If the oven light is on when entering the Sabbath Mode, it will remain on for the entire time Sabbath Mode is in use. For the oven light to be off during the Sabbath Mode, the light bulb must be removed from the oven prior to entering the Sabbath Mode. Not performing these steps will cause the oven light to turn on when the oven door is opened, resulting in the oven being not Sabbath compliant. On the holiday, the oven temperature can be changed once the oven is in Sabbath Mode by pressing the “up” or “down” arrow pads. The oven temperature will change 25°F (14°C) each time the keypad is pressed. The display will not change, and there will be no sounds during this adjustment.
To Activate and Bake Using Sabbath Mode:

  1. Press Bake.
  2. Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads.
  3.  Press START.
  4. Press and hold the Timer Set·Off for 5 seconds. “SAb” will flash in the display.
  5. Press START within 5 seconds to enter Sabbath Mode; otherwise, the entire cycle cancels out. “SAb” will stop flashing and remain on in the display. The oven is now in Sabbath Mode and is Sabbath compliant.

Pressing the CANCEL keypad at any time returns the oven to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath Mode compliant).

To Set a Timed Bake Using Sabbath Mode (on some models):

  1. Press Bake.
  2.  Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a temperature other than the one displayed.
  3.  Press Cook Time. The Cook Time oven indicator light will light up.
  4.  Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a cook time length.
  5.  Press START.
  6.  Press and hold the Timer Set·Off for 5 seconds. “SAb” will flash in the display.
  7. Press START within 5 seconds to enter Sabbath Mode; otherwise, the entire cycle cancels out. “SAb” will stop flashing and remain on in the display. The oven is now in Sabbath Mode and is Sabbath compliant. The Bake, On and Cook Time indicator lights will be displayed. When the set cook time ends, the oven will shut off automatically and the indicator lights will turn off, indicating the end of the cycle. Pressing the CANCEL keypad at any time returns the oven to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath mode compliant).

NOTE: If “SAb” does not appear in your display, the Sabbath mode is not active. After Sabbath mode is deactivated, you must activate Sabbath mode by completing steps 1 through 5.
To Set a Delayed Timed Bake Using Sabbath Mode (on some models):

  1. Press Bake.
  2.  Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a temperature other than the one displayed.
  3.  Press Cook Time. The Cook Time indicator light will light up.
  4. Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a cook time length.
  5. Press Delay Start. The Delay Start indicator light will light up.
  6. Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a Delay Start.
  7. Press START.
  8. Press and hold the Timer Set·Off for 5 seconds. “SAb” will flash in the display.
  9.  Press START within 5 seconds to enter Sabbath Mode;  otherwise, the entire cycle cancels out. “SAb” will stop flashingand remain on in the display. The oven is now in Sabbath Mode and is Sabbath compliant. The On and Delay indicator lights will be displayed.

When the Delay Start is reached the Bake, On and Cook Time indicator lights will automatically turn on. When the set cook time ends, the oven will shut off automatically and the indicator lights will turn off, indicating the end of the cycle.
Pressing the CANCEL keypad at any time returns the oven to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath Mode compliant).

Positioning Racks and Bakeware

Use the following illustration and chart as a guide for positioning racks.

Bakeware
To cook food evenly, hot air must be able to circulate. Allow 2″ (5 cm) of space around bakeware and oven walls. Make sure that no bakeware piece is directly over another.
Multiple Rack Cooking
Two-rack: Use rack positions 2 and 5.

Baking and Roasting

Preheating
When START is pressed, the oven will begin preheating. Once 100°F (38°C) is reached, the display temperature will increase as the actual temperature of the oven increases. When the preheat temperature is reached, a tone will sound, and the selected  temperature will appear on the display. The time necessary to preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) is approximately 10 to 15 minutes (on some models). Factors that have an impact on preheat times are: room temperature, starting oven temperature, and the number of oven racks. Unused oven racks can be removed prior to preheating your oven to reduce the preheat times.
Oven Temperature
While in use, the oven elements will cycle on and off as needed to maintain a consistent temperature, but they may run slightly hot or cool at any point in time due to this cycling. Opening the oven door while in use will release the hot air and cool the oven which could impact the cooking time and performance. It is recommended to use the oven light to monitor cooking progress.
Temperature Management System
The Temperature Management System electronically regulates the oven heat levels during preheat and bake to maintain a precise temperature range for optimal cooking results. The bake and broil elements or burners cycle on and off in intervals. On convection range models, the fan will run while preheating and may be cycled on and off for short intervals during bake to provide the best results. This feature is automatically activated when the oven is in use.
Before baking and roasting, position racks according to the “Positioning Racks and Bakeware” section. When roasting, it is not necessary to wait for the oven preheat cycle to end before putting food in unless it is recommended in the recipe.
No Preheat Frozen
No Preheat Frozen can be used to cook prepackaged frozen food without needing to preheat the oven and without overbrowning the food. There are 2 preprogrammed food options to choose from: Pizza and Lasagna. No Preheat Frozen should only be used for these foods. Cook only 1 package at a time when using No Preheat Frozen. Use the recommended temperature and maximum recommended time from the packaging. A beep will alert you to check the food’s doneness before the cook time is completed and again at the end of the cook time. The display will prompt you to add to the cook time or end the cycle.

Broiling
When broiling, preheat the oven for 5 minutes before putting food in unless recommended otherwise in the recipe. Position food on grid in a broiler pan, then place it in the center of the oven rack.
IMPORTANT: Close the door to ensure proper broiling temperature.
Changing the temperature when Custom Broiling allows more precise control when cooking. The lower the broil setting, the slower the cooking. Thicker cuts and unevenly shaped pieces of meat, fish and poultry may cook better at lower broil settings. Use racks 4 or 5 for broiling. Refer to the “Positioning Racks and
Bakeware” section for more information.

  • For best results, use a broiler pan and grid. It is designed to drain juices and help avoid spatter and smoke.

If you would like to purchase a broiler pan, one may be ordered. Please refer to the Quick Start Guide for contact information.
NOTE: Odors and smoke are normal the first few times the oven is used or if the oven is heavily soiled.

Cook Time

To Set a Timed Cook:

  1. Press Bake. The Bake indicator light will light up.
  2.  Press the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a temperature other than the one displayed.
  3.  Press Cook Time. The Cook Time oven indicator light will light up.
  4.  Press the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter the length of time to cook.
  5. Press START. The display will count down the time. When the time ends, the oven will shut off automatically and “End” will appear on the display.
  6.  Press CANCEL to clear the display.

To Set a Delayed Timed Cook:
Before setting, make sure the clock is set to the correct time of day. See “Clock” keypad feature in the “Feature Guide” section.

  1. Press Bake.

  2. Press the Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter a temperature other than the one displayed.

  3. Press Cook Time. The Cook Time oven indicator light will light up.

  4. Press Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter the length of time to cook.

  5. Press Delay Start. The Delay Start oven indicator light will light up.

  6.  Press Temp/Time “up” or “down” arrow pads to enter the time of day to start.

  7. Press START.
    When the delay start is reached, the oven will automatically turn on. The temperature and/or time settings can be changed anytime after pressing START by repeating steps 1-7. When the set cook time ends, the oven will shut off automatically and “End” will appear on the display.

  8.  Press CANCEL to clear the display.
