APEX DIGITAL SM620
Amplified Indoor Antenna with Smart Connector
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the SM620 amplified indoor antenna. It has been designed to provide many years of viewing enjoyment by optimizing its use with a number of installation options. Use it to connect directly to your TV or standard DTV converter box. When used with a converter box that features the SMART connector (EIA/CEA-909), the SM620 will maximize signal strength and automatically self-adjust for optimum reception anywhere you position it. This connection will also provide AC power to the antenna without the need to plug into a wall outlet.
Its stylish and space saving design compliments most entertainment systems. Lay it flat, hang on the wall or stand it up vertically in its cradle. Either way, the SM620 recognizes and amplifies digital broadcast signals while reducing interference and noise providing you with a beautifully clear digital picture.
WHAT IS A SMART ANTENNA?
Smart antennas combine multiple antenna elements with signal processing to optimize its reception pattern. The array of multiple antenna elements along with the received digital broadcast signals are weighted and combined to maximize the desired signal and reduce interference/noise. A smart antenna is therefore an adaptive array that adjusts to the environment.

Installation
Find an unobstructed area near your television for best placement of your new amplified antenna. For convenience, you may lay it flat, stand up vertically in its cradle or hang on a wall. Before you hang the antenna, perform the auto channel scan process on your TV or DTV converter box holding up the antenna near the intended area. Verify that reception is satisfactory before proceeding. To hang, use the supplied plastic anchors and screws. Mark two holes on the wall vertically 6” apart. Drill holes using a 1/8” drill bit. Insert plastic anchors into the holes until flush with wall. Screw into anchors leaving a ¼” gap between the screw head and the wall. Place antenna over screws and slide downward to secure.
