WARNINGS AND IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.

  • The heater must not be placed in a location immediately below a socket outlet.
  • Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
  • For indoor use only
  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower, a swimming pool and similar locations. NEVER use the heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water containers. To protect against electrical hazards, DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids.
  • Do not touch any parts of the heater with a wet hand.
  • Do not use this heater if it has been dropped.
  • Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the heater.
  • Do not open or try to repair the heater yourself as risk of electric shock can appear. Contact Oase Outdoors by the need of repair.
  • Use only this heater on a horizontal, stable and heat resistant surface.
  • Do not use on long pile carpets, floaty rugs or similar.
  • Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the place on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
  • To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, or any other combustible and flammable material a minimum distance of 1 m from heater front. Minimum 50 cm from heater sides and rear.
  • This heater gets hot during use. To avoid burns do not touch any surfaces without protection gloves.
  • Do not place towels or other objects on the heater.

CAUTION
Some parts of heater can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

  • Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the heater provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the heater in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the heater or perform user maintenance.
  • Avoid that the supply cord (8) comes in contact with sharp, hot or moving objects.
  • Do not use the heater with the cord (8) tangled or cover the cord in any way.
  • Make sure to unplug the heater and await the heater to be completely cooled down before moving or cleaning.
  • The supply cord (8) cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be scrapped.
  • Make sure to inspect and clean the heater for insects, bugs, cobweb and etc. before each use.

Connection:

  • Make sure the oscillation switch is in the OFF (0) position, and that both controls (5) & (6) are in the OFF [ – ] & [ 0 ] positions, then plug the heater into an appropriate electrical outlet and switch on power to the outlet.
  • Always use a separate socket that has no other high wattage appliances connected at the same time – do not plug it into a power board or socket adaptor.
  • Do not use an extension cord, unless it can handle a sustained load of at least 10A. Make sure an extension cord on a reel is spooled out completely before use. Ensure the extension cord is not covered in any way.

Fan / heat operation

  • The mode control (6) has four positions: “Off” [ 0 ], “fan only” [ fan symbol ], heat level 1 [ I ] and heat level 2 [ II ].
  • Off: No fan, no heat
  • Fan only: Fan running, no heat
  • Heat level 1: Fan + heat (1000 W)
  • Heat level 2: Fan + heat (1800 W)

Setting the temperature

  • The temperature control (5) operates the thermostat, which you can set to maintain the room temperature at the desired level.
  • Turn the knob clockwise to the highest setting [ + ] until the room is comfortably warm.
  •  When the room temperature is comfortable, slowly rotate the knob anticlockwise (turn towards [ – ] ) until the heater cycles off audibly and the control lamp (11.) turns off. The heater will now cycle on and off to maintain the room temperature at this set level.

Oscillation

  • The heater has an oscillation (swing)function of approximately 45°, which helps to provide uniform heating or ventilation.
  • The heater has an oscillation switch (10) located on the rear of the heater body (1)
    • The switch has two positions: ON [ I ] and OFF [ 0 ].
    •  When switched ON [ I ] the heater will oscillate, regardless of the position of the mode control (6).
    • The oscillation will however be switched on and off, as the thermostat (5) switches the heat on and off.
  •  To stop the swing while the appliance is oscillating, wait until the airflow is in the desired direction, then switch the oscillation switch (10) to OFF [ 0 ].

CAUTION:
Never attempt to adjust the swiveling mechanism manually, as it could damage the heater

Switching off

  •  When you no longer need the heater, turn the mode control (6) to the OFF [ 0 ] position and the temperature control (5) to the minimum position [ – ].
  • Unplug the heater from the power source and wait for it to cool down before packing it away.

Tilt protection (tip over switch):
The appliance is fitted with a tip over safety switch (7), which switches the heater off automatically if it is tilted or tips over. This prevents hazards caused by overheating. Should this happen, place the heater upright again, but take care as it may still be hot. The heater will turn on again automatically once it is back in an upright position.

WARNING:
Always place the appliance on a smooth, horizontal surface. Avoid carpets in order to prevent failure of the safety switch.

Overheat protection:
This heater is equipped with an automatic reset temperature control (overheat protection), which switches the heater off automatically in the event of abnormal overheating. While this feature provides additional safety in case of overheating, first and foremost you should make sure to eliminate all potential reasons that can lead to overheating and create a fire risk.

  • If the overheat protection has been triggered, turn the mode control (6) to the OFF [ 0 ] position and unplug the heater from the wall outlet.
  • Let the heater cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Eliminate the cause of the overheating (for example, excessive dust in the heater, or the air outlet is covered) and start it up again.
  • If after eliminating the cause you still cannot switch the heater back on, or if the overheat protection circuit switches on without an apparent reason, contact your local store or Oase Outdoors for advice.

MAINTENANCE & STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • To keep the heater clean, the heater body (1), mesh (2), base (9) and handle (4) may be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. You may use a mild detergent if necessary. After cleaning dry the unit with a soft cloth.
  • Wait until the unit is completely dry before using it.
  • Do not use alcohol, gasoline, abrasive powders, furniture polish or rough brushes to clean the heater. This may cause damage or deterioration to the surface of the heater.
  • If the heater will not be used for a long period of time, store it in a cool, dry location. To prevent the heater getting dusty or dirty keep and use the original packaging for protection and storing.
