HOW TO USE THIS INSTALL GUIDE
- Open the Bookmarks menu and find your vehicle OR scroll down until you find the install guide for your vehicle
- Print only the pages for your vehicle using the advanced options in the Print menu.
- Install your Maestro RR according to the guide for your vehicle.

Pressing the printer icon or “quick printing” this document will print all of
the guides in this compilation.
WELCOME
Congratulations on the purchase of your datalink Maestro RR Radio replacement solution. You are now a few simple steps away from enjoying your new car radio with enhanced features.
Before starting your installation, please ensure that your datalink Maestro module programmed with the correct firmware for your vehicle and that you carefully review the install guide.
Please note that Maestro RR will only retain functionalities that were originally available in the vehicle

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
VEHICLE DASH DISASSEMBLY
STEP 1
- On passenger side of the vehicle, open the glove box and push the side tabs toward each other to release glove box. Extract (3) 8mm bolts to release the airbag. (1.1) (1.2)
STEP 2
- Without disconnecting the airbag, push it out far enough to expose the copper-plated 7mm screw on the left side of the airbag and extract it. (1.3)
STEP 3
- Remove the instrument cluster cover by removing (2) 7mm screws. (1.4)
STEP 4
- Remove both side vent covers. (1.4)
STEP 5
- Remove the radio bezel by extracting (2) 7mm screws from the top and (2) 7mm screws from the bottom. (1.5) (1.6)
STEP 6
- Remove (8) 7mm screws from the factory display and radio; Remove both. (1.7)
STEP 7
- Remove the traction control button from the factory radio bezel; It will be relocated to the K150 dash kit. (1.8)
STEP 8
- Remove (2) 7mm screws from pocket on top dash, and remove pocket lifting from the forward edge fi rst. (1.9)
DASH KIT ASSEMBLY

Attach the storage pocket to the backside of the K150 dash kit and secure it with the screws included in the kit. (2.1)

Insert the factory traction control button into the K150 dash kit. (2.2)

Secure the K150 steel radio brackets to the aftermarket radio using the screws included with the aftermarket radio. (2.3)
MAKE CONNECTIONS
STEP 1
If using head unit adapter (sold separately), connect HRR-K150 harness to
adapter and skip to step 2.
- Unbox the aftermarket radio and locate its main harness.
- Cut and remove the black 20 pin connector from the HRR-K150 T-harness and connect the wires, shown in the wiring diagram, from aftermarket radio main harness to the HRR-K150 T-harness and match the wire functions.
Note : only connect purple/white wire to radio reverse input or module damage will occur
STEP 2
- Connect the K150 T-harness to the factory harness.
- Plug the backup camera cable into the factory harness (if applicable).
- Connect the antenna adapter (if applicable).
STEP 3
Option1-connection at SYNC module
Cut off the black 2-pin connector from the large 54 pin and connect as shown
in diagram. Connect red to white/blue (pin 53), and yellow to white (pin 54).
Option2-connection at OBD2 port
Cut off the black 2-pin connector from the large 54 pin, extend and splice the
two (2) wires into the back side of the OBD2 port. Connect red to white/blue
(pin 6), and yellow to white (pin 14).
Alternatively, if you have an extra OBDII connector from a previous install, you may plug that in and run it down to OBDII port.
STEP 4
- Plug the harnesses into the aftermarket radio.
- Plug the backup camera RCA cable into the aftermarket radio (if applicable).
- Connect the antenna adapter (if applicable).
- Plug the Data cable to the data port of the aftermarketradio (labeled iDatalink).
- Insert the Audio cable into the iDatalink 3.5 mm audio jack of the aftermarket radio (If there is no iDatalink audio input, connect to AUX).
Note : On Pioneer radio, ensure that there is nothing plugged into the W/R port.
STEP 5
- Connect all the harnesses to the Maestro RR module.
- If Maestro module is labeled RR (256) 1.0 : Use of GEN 1 red 4-pin cable and adapters is required.
- All other RR Modules listed RR (512) 2-4 will use GEN 2 red 4-pin cable.
STEP 6
- Connect the harnesses and red 4-pin cable to the K150 dash kit.
- Make connections to K150 pocket being used.
- Secure the K150 kit in the dash and test installation.

TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE

anything else is connected to the OBD2 or CAN wires of vehicle (programmer,
throttle controller, insurance tracker, etc.) try unplugging it to see if
gauges work. If gauges work without it installed, call tech support for
options.Reset the RR.
The radio goes go to the camera screen but there is no image from the backup
camera.| Ensure the 12-pin connector from the 4” factory screen is plugged
into the 12 pin plug of the F150 T-harness, and that the Backup cam RCA is
plugged into the rear camera input of the radio.
The dash panel of the K150 lights up, then turns off after a few seconds.
Climate controls are blowing full heat.| Ensure the cable with 4-pin red
connectors plugged to the K150 dash panel is labeled GEN 2.During the module
programming, ensure you selected K150 as the accessory and not FO2.
The light on the Maestro is blinking RED TWICE and the radio IS NOT turning
on.| If installing a modular radio and it is not turning on, ensure the screen
is secured and any trim pieces on the radio have been installed fully. Not
installing these fully will prevent radio from powering up and show a 2x red
error as well.Test red and yellow wires for DC voltage at radio using a
multimeter. Contact support if no voltage on red or yellow.
The light on the Maestro is blinking RED TWICE and the radio IS turning on.|
Ensure the 4-pin data cable is connected between the radio and the RR, and
that it is plugged into the black port on the Maestro RR. The red and blue
ports on the RR should be empty. **** Make sure the correct radio model and
serial number were entered during the flash. Verify the radio’s serial number
entered during the flash matches what is listed on the radio screen. This can
be found in the settings of the radio, listed as Device Id, Device Number, or
Serial Number.
MAESTRO RR RESET PROCEDURE:
Turn the key to the OFF position, then disconnect all connectors from the
module.
Press and hold the module’s programming button and connect all the connectors
back to the module. Wait, the module’s LED will fl ash RED rapidly (this may
take up to 10 seconds).
Release the programming button. Wait, the LED will turn solid GREEN for 2
seconds to show the reset was successful.

IMPORTANT : To ensure proper operation, the aftermarket radio needs to have the latest fi rmware from the manufacturer. Please visit the radio manufacturer’s website and look for any updates pertaining to your radio.
