Product Usage Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Connect the Adapter to iPad Pro
Plug the Type-C male connector of the adapter into the Type-C port of your iPad Pro.

Step 2: Connect HDMI Display
If you want to connect an HDMI display, plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI female port of the adapter and connect the other end to your HDMI display.

Step 3: Connect USB Devices
If you want to connect USB devices, plug them into the USB-A ports of the adapter.

Step 4: Connect Audio Devices
If you want to connect audio devices, you have two options:

  1. If you have an HDMI display with audio output, the audio will be automatically output through the HDMI connection.
  2. If you prefer to use the 3.5mm audio port, connect your audio device to the combo audio port of the adapter.

Step 5: Charging
If you need to charge your iPad Pro or other devices, follow these guidelines:

  • If you are using a Type-C PD Adapter, connect it to the Type-C female port of the adapter to enable PD charging up to 100W (20V/5A).
  • If you are connecting a Type-C device, the adapter supports max 5Gbps data transfer and max 7.5W (5V/1.5A) downstream charging. If you require more power, connect a PD adapter to supply enough power.

FAQ

  • Q: What is DP1.4 Alt mode?
A: DP1.4 Alt mode is a display protocol that allows for higher resolution and refresh rate support over a Type-C connection.

  • Q: Can I charge my phone or heavy-load USB devices through the BC1.2 port of this adapter?
A: It is not recommended to charge your phone or connect heavy-load USB devices through the BC1.2 port of this adapter. The max output of the iPad is 1.5A, and connecting additional devices may cause overload protection. If you need to charge multiple devices, it is suggested to connect a PD adapter to supply enough power.

  • Q: How does audio output work when both HDMI and 3.5mm audio ports are connected?
A: The audio output priority depends on the connection order:

    • If the iPad Pro is connected to this adapter first, the audio will output from the port that is connected last.
    • If devices are connected to the adapter first, the audio will output from the 3.5mm audio port.

DEAR CUSTOMER
Thank you for purchasing this product. For optimum performance and safety, please read these instructions carefully before connecting, operating or using this product. Please keep this manual for future reference.

INTRODUCTION

This is a 5-in-1 Type-C hub with HDMI, USB-Ax2, 3.5mm audio and Type-C data or PD charging, of which the ID design perfectly suits for Apple Ipad Pro. This hub adopts the latest DP1.4 Alt mode supported IC, enabling to output HDMI video with max 4k/60Hz and at the meanwhile transfer USB 3.1 Gen 1 data with max 5Gbps. Besides, the Type-C female supports PD 3.0 with max 100W PD Charging when connecting a PD Adapter and supports max 5Gbps data transmission when connecting a Type-C device. This hub can work on all Type-C and ThunderboltTM3 host that supports DP Alt mode(including DP1.2 and DP1.4 Alt mode). When working on a Thunderbolt TM 3 host, this product transmits DP signal.

FEATURES

Upstream:

  • Type-C Malex1(Connect to host)
    • Support DP1.4 Alt mode, with bandwidth max 2 lanes 16.2Gbps (8.1Gbps per lane),downward compatible with DP1.2 Alt mode
Note: To get max bandwidth, the host should support standard DP1.4 Alt mode with DSC3:1 and HBR3

Downstream:

  • HDMI Femalex1

    • Support HDMI max 4K/60Hz, 4:4:4, 8bit with 18Gbps Bandwidth
    • Support 6/8/10/12 bit color depth output
    • Support output pixel format RGB4:4:4/YCbCr4:4:4/YCbCr4:2:2
    • Support HDCP 2.2&HDCP1.4
    • Support HDR
Note: When connecting a DP1.4 Alt mode supported host, the max resolution of HDMI is 4k/60Hz; When connecting a DP1.2 Alt mode supported host, the max resolution of HDMI is 4k/30Hz due to bandwidth limitation
  • USB-AX2

    • 1 USB-A port supports BC 1.2 with max 7.5W([email protected]) downstream charging, 2 USB-A share max 9W (5V/1.8A) downstream charging.
    • Max 5Gbps bandwidth
Note: It’s not suggested to charge for phone or connect to heavy-load USB devices through BC1.2 port of this product. Since max output of iPad is 1.5A, if connected for phone charging or to heavy load USB devices plus other power consumption, it may cause overload protection. When two USB ports output more than 1A totally, it’s suggested to connect a PD adapter to supply enough power.
  • 3.5mm combo audioX1

    • Support 48K/44.1KHz sampling rate
    • Audio output
Note: Audio can be output from HDMI or 3.5mm audio port, below explanation illustrates the priority of audio output when both HDMI and 3.5mm audio ports are connected.
    1. When Ipad pro is connected to this product prior to devices, audio outputs from the port that is connected at last.
    2. When devices are connected prior to Ipad pro, audio outputs from 3.5mm audio port
  • Type-C Femalex1(for PD Charging & Data)

    • When connecting a PD Adapter:
    • Support PD Charging 100W (20V/5A)
    • Support Fast Role Swap of PD 3.0, the connected device will not get disconnected while plugging in and out PD Adapter
    • 8W is dedicated to the functioning of this product, the rest power (max 92W) will be passed to charge for the host
    • When connecting a Type-C device:
    • Max 5Gbps data transfer
    • Max 7.5W(5V/1.5A) downstream charging
    • Share max 7.5W downstream charging with USB-A port
