APPLICATION
This conversion kit is only applicable for two-stagegas valves for use in propane gas(L.P.G) applications.
TO CONVERT FROM NATURAL GAS TO PROPANE GAS (L.P.G)
Step 1: Remove the gas valve/burner assembly. Remove the natural gas orifices
counterclockwise from the manifold with an adjustable wrench and replace them
with the propane gas (L.P.G.) orifices.
Step 2: Place the gas valve horizontally. Unscrew and remove the HI and LO
regulator cover screws.
Step 3: Unscrew and remove the plastic regulator adjustment screws. Remove the
natural gas springs and replace them with the propane gas (L.P.G.)springs from
the kit. Make sure to line them up in the center of the holes.
Step 4: Reinstall the HI and LO plastic screws, tighten clockwise to the
bottom. Then rotate them counterclockwise for 2-3 turns.
(This is a rough setting, manifold pressure needs to be tuned in step 6)
Step 5: Reinstall the gas valve/burner assembly, gas supply, and gas pressure
gauge, then check for gas leaks.
Step 6: After ignition, adjust low and high manifold pressures to the
manufacturer’s requirements. After setting the high fire pressure, check the
low fire pressure again.
After adjustment, check whether the high fire and low fire work normally.
Step 7: Attach the WARNING label(provided in the kit) to the gas valve where
it can be readily seen. Also attach the small round L.P. labels to the top of
the regulator cover screws.
Conversion back to Natural Gas use maybe made at a later date by retaining the
Natural Gas springs(removed in step 3,above) and following the same
procedures.
NOTE
The outlet pressure of LPG device should be checked with a manometer according
to the manufacturer’s instructions.
