Precautions

Read all of the instructions before operating the set. Keep these instructions well for future use.

Product
  • Do not block or cover the ventilation openings on the back cover.
  • Do not push objects of any kind into this unit through the cabinet slots as they could touch the current carrying parts or short-circuit parts, resulting in fire, electric shock, or damage to the unit.
  • Do not attempt to open the cabinet as this may cause damage. There are no parts inside you can service by yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Do not touch the screen surface with your fingers as this may scratch or mar the TV screen.
  • Do not impact the TV screen with hard pressure as this may damage the TV screen severely.
  • The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Power and Plug

  • Unplug the set under the following conditions:
    • If the set will not be used for a long period of time.
    • If the power cord or the power outlet/plug is damaged.
    • Follow the instructions to install and adjust the product. Adjust those controls that are covered in this operating instructions as improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage. If this happens, unplug the set and refer to the service personnel.
    • If the set is subject to impact or has been dropped to have the cabinet damaged.
    • Where the mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as a disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. (* Where an all-pole mains switch is used as the disconnect device, the switch shall remain readily operable.)
  • Power Cord and Signal Cable
    • Do not allow anything to rest on or roll over the power cord and the signal cable.
    • Protect the power cord and the signal cable from being trampled.
    • Do not overload the power cord or the power outlet.
    • Do not expose the power cord and the signal cable to moisture.
    • Use Environment
    • Do not place the set on an unstable cart, stand, or table. Place the set in a place that allows good ventilation. Do not use the set near damp, and cold areas. Protect the set from overheating.
  • Keep the set away from direct sunlight.
  • The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
  • Do not use the set near the dust place.

Cleaning

  • Dust the set by wiping the screen and the cabinet with a soft, clean cloth or some special liquid cleaner.
  • Do not apply excessive force to the screen when cleaning.
  • Do not use water or other chemical cleaner to clean the screen as this may damage the surface of the TV screen.
  • Hanging the TV Set on the Wall
    • Warning: This operation requires two people.
  • To ensure a safe installation, observe the following safety notes:
  • Check that the wall can support the weight of the TV set and wall mount assembly.
  • Follow the mounting instructions provided with the wall mount.
  • The TV set must be installed on a vertical wall.
  • Make sure to use only screws suitable for the material of the wall.
  • Make sure that the TV set cables are placed so that there is no danger of tripping over them.
  • All other safety instructions about our TV sets are also applicable here.

Important Information

If a television is not positioned in a sufficiently stable location, it can be potentially hazardous due to falling. Many injuries, particularly to children, can be avoided by taking simple precautions such as:

  • Using cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer of the television.
  • Only using furniture that can safely support the television.
  • Ensuring the television is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture.
  • Not placing the television on tall furniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) without anchoring both the furniture and the television to a suitable support.
  • Not standing the televisions on cloth or other materials placed between the television and supporting furniture.
  • Educating children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the television or its controls.

Buttons on the TV

Take a certain model for an example:

  1. button
    Turn the TV on or on standby. The TV is on, press , and brings up the function system to select Source, Channel, and Volume. (Only in ATV or DTV mode, Channel can be selected.) , Long press it, TV will be standby.

  2. button
    Increases/decreases the volume. In the function system, press the button to select the function accordingly.

Sockets

Note: The location and names of the sockets on the TV may vary according to the TV model, and not all sockets are available on all models.

  • USB sockets (input)
    These sockets can be used to connect a USB device.

    • Note: The number of USB sockets on the TV may vary according to the TV model.
  • RCA AUDIO OUT sockets
    Use an RCA audio cable to connect your TV to a compatible audio receiver.

  • SPDIF socket (output)
    The SPDIF socket can be used to connect a compatible digital audio receiver.

  • HDMI1 and HDMI2 socket (input)
    The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) socket can be used to connect a PC with a compatible video card installed, certain DVD players, or a high- definition compatible digital satellite decoder. This socket provides an uncompressed digital connection that carries both video and audio data by way of an integrated mini-plug cable.

  • YPbPr/VIDEO component sockets (input)
    These Y/VIDEO sockets can be used to connect a device that has component video sockets, such as a DVD player. The component sockets can recognize if the device you’re connecting to is Y Pb Pr compatible or Y Cb Cr compatible. The component sockets provide excellent picture quality because the video is separated into three separate parts.

  • PC/AV/COMPONENT AUDIO IN
    These AUDIO IN L & R sockets can be used to connect a range of equipment, including video recorders, camcorders, satellite receivers, DVD players, or game consoles. AUDIO IN sockets are shared by AV, VGA, and YPbPr sockets.

  • VGA socket (input)
    This socket can be used to connect a computer.

    • Note: The VGA is the same as the PC.
  • ANTENNA IN socket (input)
    This socket can be used to connect the outside aerial.(including the analog signal and the digital signal)

Remote Control Functions

Most of your television’s functions are available via the menus that appear on the screen. The remote control supplied with your set can be used to navigate through the menus and configure all the general settings.

  • Mute: (MUTE) Reduce the TV’s volume to its minimum level. Press again to restore the volume.
  • (On/Off button): Turns the TV on or off.
  • 0-9: (numeric buttons) Enters channel numbers.
  • Info: Display the status information.
  • Return: Return you to the previous channel in TV mode.
  • Source: Press to select signal source.
  • Menu: Bring up the menu system.
  • (up, down, left, and right direction buttons): Highlights different items in the menu system and adjusts the menu controls.
  • OK: Confirm your selection.
  • Option: Enters the record function.
    • Note: The speed will depend on the specified speed of the USB stick. For best results, use a hard disc drive. .
  • Exit: Exits the menu system.
  • VOL +/-: Increase or decrease the TV’s volume.
  • CH +/-: Scan up or down through the current channel list.
  • Zoom +/-: Press to select the desired screen format. (In USB mode, it is unavailable.)
  • ECO: Press to enter saving energy mode.
  • Guide: Display the information of the digital program. (Only available in digital mode)
  • Text: Teletext
  • Subtitle: Press to display the Subtitle Language menu.
  • List: Press to select the Channel List.
  • TV: In DTV mode, press to switch DTV and RADIO.
    • In the other sources, presses to back DTV.
  • Red button: In the corresponding mode, press it to enter the right function as a hint.
  • Green button: In the corresponding mode, press it to enter the right function as a hint.
  • Yellow button: In the corresponding mode, press it to enter the right function as a hint.
  • Blue button: In the corresponding mode, press it to enter the right function as a hint.(In USB mode, press to select soundtrack mode )
Switching on

Follow the instructions on this page on how to switch on your TV set and the remote control before going on to the following pages describing how to use the channel set-up procedure.

  • Insert two AAA batteries in the remote control. Precautions on using batteries:

    • Only use the battery types specified.
    • Make sure you use the correct polarity.
    • Do not mix new and used batteries.
    • Do not use rechargeable batteries.
    • Do not expose batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire, or the like, throw them in a fire, recharge them, or try to open them, as this could cause them to leak or explode.
    • Remove the batteries from the remote control if you are not using it for a long period.
  • Connect the power cable FIRST to the television, then to a mains socket.

    • (Note: If the power cable is connected to the television, please only connect the power cable to the main socket.)
  • Your TV set should only be connected to an AC supply. It must not be connected to a DC supply. If the plug is detached from the cable, do not, under any circumstances, connect it to a mains socket, as there is a risk of electric shock. Note: The figures are for representation only. The location of the power socket at the back of the television might differ depending on the model.

  • Connect an outside aerial to the ANTENNA IN socket at the back of the TV set. The aerial socket (75 OHM – VHF / UHF / cable) can be used for connecting an external aerial or other equipment fitted.

  • When powered on, the TV will be turned on directly or be on standby.

    • Note: For some models, switch the TV on by pressing the power button.
  • If the power indicator lights up, the TV set is in standby mode. Press the button on the remote control or on the TV set to turn on the TV.

Switching off

  • To put the TV set into standby mode, press the button on the remote control or on the TV, the TV set remains powered up, but with low energy consumption.
  • To switch off the TV set, unplug the mains socket from the mains outlet.
    • Note: For some models, press the power button to switch off the TV set .

Menu Function

The following instructions will introduce how to access and operate the main menu of the TV. Please note that some functions might be unavailable in certain input sources.

Source

Display the menu by pressing the Menu button. Press the up, down, left, or right direction button to select the Source icon and press the OK button to enter the Source menu.

Selecting a Signal Source

  1. Press the up or down direction button to select your desired source.
    • (Note: The available source might differ depending on the model.)
  2. Press the OK button to confirm the selection.
    • Note: The ATV and DTV icon in the Main Menu has the same function as the ATV and DTV in the Source Menu.

Setting

Display the menu by pressing the Menu button. Press the up, down, left, or right direction button to select the Setting icon and press the OK button to enter the Setting menu. left or right direction button to select: Picture, Sound, Time, Option, and Channel.

Picture

Note: Some options may be not available for certain signal sources.

  • Backlight: this option can be used to adjust the brightness of the backlight, depending on room lighting. Use the left or right direction button to adjust.
  • Picture Mode: use the right direction or OK button to enter the selectable options, then press the up or down direction button to scroll through the picture preset settings: Standard, Dynamic, Mild, or User, and press the right direction or OK to confirm.
    • Note: When selecting Standard, Dynamic, or Mild, the Back Light will restore to the defaulted setting in the factory. You are recommended to use Brightness for the vivid palette.
  • Aspect Ratio: Select the picture scale. This options Include: Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Zoom1, Zoom2, Panorama.
  • Brightness: adjusts the brightness of the picture.
  • Contrast: adjusts the difference between the light and dark areas of the picture.
  • Color: adjusts the richness of color.
  • Sharpness: Adjust the crispness of the edges in the picture.
  • Tint: adjusts the balance between the red and green levels.
    • Note: Tint is available to be adjusted only when the system of the video signal is NTSC.
  • Color Temperature: Adjust the color temperature of the picture. options include Cool, Medium and
  • Warm: Cool is for a more blue palette of picture colors; Warm is for a more red palette of picture colors; medium is between the two.
  • Noise Reduction: options include: Off, Low, Middle, and High.
  • Screen: This function is only available in VGA mode.
  • Press Menu to return or Exit to close the menu.
Sound

The SOUND menu allows you to adjust each option for your listening pleasure.

  • Sound Mode: options include User, Standard, Music, Movie, and Sports.
    Balance: adjusts the volume between the left and right speaker. Sets to “0 ”in the normal condition.

  • AVC: options include Off and On.

  • SPDIF Mode: options include Auto and PCM. Surround Sound: options include Off and Surround. EQ: adjusts the audio frequency settings.

Time

The Time menu allows you to set the sleep timer and turn on time.

  • Clock Mode: options include Auto and Manual. If you select Manual, you may adjust the time.
  • On-Time: Select a time to turn on the TV at a specific time. Options include Hour, Minute, Source mode, and Volume.

If the source mode is ATV DTV or Radio, the Channel item will appear. If you select Off, Channel, Volume, Hour, Minute, and Source will not display.

  • Sleep Timer: sets a period of time after which the TV set goes into standby mode, use the up or down direction button to set the period. To disable this function, select Off.
  • Auto Sleep: options include On, Off. Select On, the TV will enter standby mode at the specific time that you set. Note: it turns off automatically without a signal in 10 minutes.
  • Time Zone: Select the time zone you stay.

Option

Lock

This function allows you to effectively stop anyone without the correct password from watching TV.

  • When you select the Lock System is On, the menu is changed, and the options include Set Password, Block program, and Parental Guidance.
  • Set Password: Set a new password for operating the TV. the default password is “0000”.
  • Block Program: lock the program you set.
    • Note: If you forget the password, enter 0812 to override any existing codes.
  • Parental Guidance: limits the age of watching TV. Options include Off,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18.
    • Note: It is only available in digital mode.
  • OSD Language: Press button to select OSD Language, then press the OK or right direction button to enter the sub-menu. Press button to select OSD language.
  • Audio Languages: Press button to select Audio Languages then press the OK or right direction button to enter the sub-menu. Press button to select. (Only in DTV mode)
  • TTX Language: Press button to select TTX Language, then press the OK or right direction button to enter the sub-menu. Press button to select. (West, East, Russian, Arabic, Farsi)
  • Subtitle Language: Press the button to select Subtitle Language then press the OK or right direction button to enter sub-menu. Press the button to select. (Only in DTV mode)
  • Hearing Impaired: Press the button to select Hearing Impaired, then press the OK or right direction button to select On or Off. (It is only available in DTV mode.)
  • Location: Press button to select Location then, press the OK button to enter the sub-menu.Press the button to select. (Home or Shop Mode)
  • Default setting: Press button to select Reset, then press the OK or right direction button to enter a dialogue. Press ◄ the button selecting Yes to restore the factory default.
  • Software Update(USB): Update the software by USB with downloading software.
Channel
  • Auto Tuning: searches and stores the active channel automatically.
  • DTV Manual Tuning: manually searches and stores the channel in digital mode that have not been stored after automatic tuning.
  • ATV Manual Tuning: manually searches and stores the channel in analog mode that have not been stored after automatic tuning.
  • Programme Edit: deletes,moves or skips a channel.

Multimedia

Connect a USB device to a USB socket and display the main menu by pressing the Menu button, then select the Multimedia icon and press OK button enter Multimedia.

Notes: In the Multimedia menu, you can press the left or right direction button to toggle among Movie Show, Photo Show, Music Show, Text Show, and Game, then press the OK button to confirm.

  • The short keys of the USB include the up, down, left, right direction buttons and OK buttons.
  • In USB state, if no USB device is connected, the USB interface will be displayed.

Music Show

  1. Press the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select MUSIC and press the OK button to enter the USB content browser.
  2. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a subfolder. Press the OK button to enter. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select music and press the OK button to play it.
  3. Press the MENU button to display the control menu. The menu options include Pause/Play, FB, FF, Prev., Next, Stop, Repeat mode, Mute, Playlist, Info., Goto Time.
  4. Press the OK button to confirm your settings. Press the MENU or EXIT button to exit the control menu.

Photo Show

  1. Press the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select PHOTO and press the OK button to enter the USB content browser.
  2. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a subfolder. Press the OK button to enter. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a photo and press the OK button to show it.
  3. Press the MENU button to display the control menu. The menu options include Pause/Play, Prev., Next, Stop, Rotate, Music On/Off, Musiclist, Zoom In, Zoom Out, Repeat mode, Brightness, Contrast, Info..
  4. Press the OK button to confirm your settings. Press the MENU or EXIT button to exit the control menu.

Movie Show

  1. Press the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select MOVIE and press the OK button to enter the USB content browser.
  2. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a subfolder. Press the OK button to enter. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a movie and press OK button to play it.
  3. Press the MENU button to display the control menu. The menu options include Pause/Play, FB, FF, Prev., Next, Stop, Repeat mode, Set A~B, Playlist, Info., Slow Forward, Step Forward, Goto Time, Brightness, Contrast.
  4. Press the OK button to confirm your settings. Press the MENU or EXIT button to exit the control menu.

Text Show

  1. Press the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select TXT and press the OK button to enter the USB content browser.
  2. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a subfolder. Press the OK button to enter. Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select a file, then press the OK button to display all the content.
  3. Press the MENU button to display the control menu. The menu options include Prev. Page, Next Page, Prev., Next, Stop, Music On/Off, Musiclist, Info..
  4. Press the OK button to confirm your settings. Press the MENU or EXIT button to exit the control menu.

Game

  • Press the OK button to enter.

PVR

  • Display the menu by pressing the Menu button. Press the up, down, left, or right direction button to select the PVR icon and press the OK button to enter the PVR File System menu. The PVR File includes Select Disk, Check PVR File System, USB Disk, Format, Free Record Limit, Speed, and press the up or down direction button to select Select Disk, Format, and Free Record Limit. (Only in DTV mode)

EPG

  • Before using the following three functions, connect a USB device to the TV and keep the TV in digital mode. For those functions, you might operate them following the directions on the screen.
  • Display the menu by pressing the Menu button. Press the up, down, left, or right direction button to select the EPG icon and press the OK button to enter the PROGRAMME GUIDE menu. (NOTE: Press the Guide button in the remote is quick access to the PROGRAMME GUIDE menu.)

NOTE: The PROGRAMME GUIDE’s content is based on signal information, the picture is only for reference.

  • Before you plug your USB device into the TV, make sure you have backed up all your previously stored data to avoid unusual performance and data loss. We recommend that you use a USB device with at least 1Gb free space, and a disc speed faster than 5.0M/sec.
  • Do not unplug your USB device when the system is reading a file or transmitting data, otherwise the system or USB device may be damaged.

Programme Guide

Using this function you may know the following program.

  • Press UP/DOWN buttons to move the highlight to the Channel or Time item.
  • Press LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select the Channel or Time item.
    • Select Channel, and the programme information on both the day and the next day will appear.
    • Select a Time, and the programme information in one week will appear.

Reminder Setting

Using this function, you will not forget to watch the programme you desire.

  1. Press the BLUE button to enter the Reminder Setting menu, and use UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select and adjust it. Then press OK button to save.
  2. Near the time that you set, it will remind you the channel will be switched automatically in 10 seconds.

PVR (Personal Video Record)

Allows you to record your favorite programme so that you will not miss your favorite part even if you go out.. If you go out, you may set the time that programme will play, then add it to the schedule list, at that time, it will start to record automatically. But, before that, need to set the turn-on timer for the TV.

Record the Programme

  1. Press GUIDE button to display the digital programme guide. Then press RED button to enter the submenu.
  2. Use UP/DOWN buttons to select the item that you want to adjust, then press LEFT/RIGHT buttons to adjust it.
  3. Note: select Mode Auto, will not allow time adjustment.
  4. Press OK button to confirm it. The time information will be stored in the Schedule list automatically.
  5. In the recording, the toolbar shows to indicate the recording progress. Press STOP button to stop recording manually. If the recording duration finishes, it will stop automatically. during recording, only PLAY and PAUSE in directions on the screen are working.
  6. To watch the recorded programs, go to USB/ Movie and find the folder PVR.

Short-cut for PVR

Press the Option button on the remote control to record the programme directly.

Schedule List

Allows you to perform scheduled recording and reminding.

  1. According to the steps above add to the list.
    • Press the UP/DOWN buttons to select items and use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to adjust them. Press OK to save your selection.
  2. Press the yellow button to enter the schedule list.
    • Enter the schedule, and press the RED button may delete the list that you select.
  3. The TV will record the program at the set time automatically. A prompt appears during the last seconds before recording.

Attention and Frequently Asked Questions Attention

  1. Some non-standard mobile storage devices may not be recognized. Please use standard devices.
  2. This system supports the following file formats: Picture format: JPEG, BMP, and PNG.
  3. Video format: H.264, MPEG4, MPEG2, MPEG1, etc.. Audio Format: MP3.
    • Note: for coding files, there are many kinds of non-standard coding methods, so this system can not be guaranteed to support the file formats using any coding method.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Under the following conditions, this system cannot decode the file and the file cannot be played normally:
    • The parameters of the file, such as the pixel of the picture, the code rate of audio and video files, the sampling rate of an audio file, exceed the limit of the system;
    • The format of the file is not matched or the file is harmed. Note: The code rate of this system does not support data rates exceeding 20Mbps.
  2. Hot plug: Do not disconnect when the system is reading or transmitting data, to avoid damaging the system or the device.
  3. Pay attention to the power supply of the device when you are using a mobile hard disk or a digital camera. If the power supply is not sufficient or not stable, you may encounter problems during operation or can not operate at all. In this case, please restart the device, or unplug the device and plug it again, and ensure that its power supply is normal.
  4. The system supports standard USB1.1 and USB2.0 devices, such as standard U-disks, MP3 players, mobile hard disks, etc..
  5. For obtaining better audio and video quality, we suggest using an external device that accords with the USB2.0 standards.
  6. Connecting two USB hard disk devices simultaneously can cause to slow speed of reading or other problems, we suggest connecting two U disks or one USB hard disk and one U-disk simultaneously.
  7. When playing the video with a high compression ratio, these phenomenons, such as picture standstill and slow menu response are normal.
  8. For some USB devices with power supply, such as large-size hard disks, MP4, etc., Suggests using it with power to avoid electric power shortage.
    • The parameters of the file, such as the pixel of the picture, the code rate of the audio and video file, and the sampling rate of an audio file, exceed the limit of the system;

Troubleshooting

Most problems you encounter with your TV can be corrected by consulting the following troubleshooting list.

  • No picture, no sound
    • Check if the fuse or circuit breaker is working.
    • Plug another electrical device into the outlet to make sure it is working or turned on.
    • The power plug is in bad contact with the outlet.
    • Check the signal source.
  • No color
    • Change the color system.
    • Adjust the saturation.
    • Try another channel. The black-white program may be received.
  • The remote control does not work
    • Change the batteries.
    • Batteries are not installed correctly.
    • The main power is not connected.
  • No picture, normal sound
    • Adjust the brightness and contrast.
    • Broadcasting failure may happen.
  • Normal picture, no sound
    • Press the Vol+ button to increase volume.

  • Unorderly ripples on the picture
    • It is usually caused by local interference, such as cars, daylight lamps, and hair driers. Adjust the antenna to minimize the interference.
  • Blank screen in VGA mode
    • Perhaps the TV can not recognize the resolution set by the PC. We suggest changing to the best resolution or other standard resolutions of the Windows system.
  • Snowy dots and interference
  • If the antenna is located in the fringe area of a television signal where the signal is weak, the picture may be marred by dots. When the signal is extremely weak, it may be necessary to install a special antenna to improve the reception.
    • Adjust the position and orientation of the indoor/outdoor antenna.
    • Check the connection of the antenna.
    • Fine-tune the channel.
    • Try another channel. Broadcasting failure may happen.
  • Ignition
    • Black spots or horizontal streaks appear, or the picture flutters or drifts. This is usually caused by interference from car ignition systems, neon lamps, electric drills, or other electrical appliances.
  • Ghost
    • Ghosts are caused by the television signal following two paths. One is the direct path, and the other is reflected from tall buildings, hills, or other objects. Changing the direction or position of the antenna may improve the reception.
  • Radio frequency interference
    • This interference produces moving ripples or diagonal streaks, and in some cases, loss of contrast in the picture. Find out and remove the radio interference source.
