Set Up the Device
- Get lmou Life App
Scan the QR code below or search for “lmou Life”in the app store to download and install the app.
If you already use the app, make sure that you are using the latest version.
Pairing Setup
- Place the device close to the gateway. Make sure the gateway is powered on. Press the button on the front of the gateway and wait until the indicator slowly flashes blue.
- Connect the device to the power supply. The device starts preheating and the LED flashes yellow for 1 to 3 mins.
- Press and hold the LED for 5 s until the LED flashes green to enter the pairing mode.
Use the lmou Life app to scan the QR code on the manual and follow the instructions on the app.
Installation Position
Before the installation, please set up your device and test its signal.
Ceiling Mount
Install the device close to the potential leak source. The optimal installing
area is in the annual zone about 1.5 m to 3 m above the gas source.
Wall Mount
The optimal installing height is about 0.2 m to 0.6 m below the ceiling and
1.5 m away from the gas source.
Installation Method
Make sure that the device can be connected to a power socket.
Method 1 Using Screws (Recommended)
Step 1 Use the mounting bracket to mark the screw holes.
Step 2 Drill holes with an appropriately-sized drill and insert the anchors to fix the mounting bracket.
Step 3 Attach the device to the mounting bracket and turn clockwise to lock it.
- Make sure that the device will not be affected by heat, steam,or smoke residual generated by gas appliances (for example, above a gas stove).
- Make sure that the device is not installed near a large airflow, such as air vents, ventilators, windows, and doors.
Method 2 Using a 3M Sticker
Step 1 Peel off the 3M sticker and stick it to the rear of the mounting bracket.
Step 2 Fix the device to the mounting bracket and turn clockwise to lock it.
- If you choose to use a 3M sticker, affix the device to a smooth,fiat, dry, and clean surface.
- Regularly check whether the device is attached to the surface securely to keep it from falling down.
Additional Information
Routine Maintenance and Protection
To keep the device in good status, please follow these steps:
- Correctly install and maintain the device.
- Check the device’s alarm sound and LED indicator are working properly by testing the device every month.
- The device should be cleaned once every three months. Use a slightly damp towel to clean the cover and a soft brush to remove dust and dirt from the air vents.
- Do not use a wet towel or chemical solvents, such as alcohol or acetone to clean the device.
- Calibrate the device annually.
- Regularly check whether the device is attached to the surface securely to keep it from falling down.
Only qualified institutions with standard gas and calibration tools are authorized to calibrate the product.
How to Handle a Gas Leak
- Shut off the gas valve immediately.
- Open all the doors and windows for ventilation.
- Stop using any electrical device.
- Extinguish all sources of fire such as cigarette lighters, matches, and gas burners, and do not use items that may generate fire or any kind of electrical spark, such as electronic ignition devices for water heaters or gas burners.
- Do not turn any home appliances on or off.
- Check the causes of the gas leakage and notify fire departments and professional personnel of handling the problem.
- What should I do if the device always in preheating status when powered on (yellow indicator is flashing).
- Power on the device for 24 hours.
- Turn off the source of gas, and turn on the device to preheat.
- What should I do when the LED indicator flashes yellow and beeps for several times.
Please contact the vendors or manufacturers for repairment.
Cautions and Warnings
- The product can only be used for pipeline Methane (Natural gas) and cannot be used for bottled liquefied gas (LPG).
- Do not change the internal structure of the device.
- Do not directly use high-concentration combustible gas. The sensitivity of detection will be reduced.
- To avoid false alarms and maintain the device’s lifespan, please do not use hair spray, pesticides, paint, adhesives, or thinners near the device.
- Typically, the device’s built-in sensor can be used for five years. You can maintain the sensor only or buy a new device after having using the device for five years.
- Do not disassemble the product yourself. After-sales service engineers of the vendor can provide on-site guidance.
- If you choose to use a 3M sticker to affix the device to a painted surface, peeling of the paint may cause the device to fall down. If this occurs, you are liable for any problems incurred therefrom.
