SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the product.
Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.
– The appliance is not intended to be used by children under the age of 8. It can be used by children over the age of 8, as long as they are given continuous supervision. This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, as long as they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
– Keep this appliance and its power cord out of reach of children under the age of 8. Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children.
– Supervise childrento prevent them from playing with the appliance.
– This product is exclusively designed for household use. It is not suitable for commercial or industrial use.
– This symbol means “caution, hot surface”. The appliance’s accessible surfaces may reach high temperatures during operation. Be careful not to burn yourself.
– Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any other part of the appliance in water or any other liquid or expose electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
– This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
– Place the appliance on an even, heat-resistant surface.
Position the appliance in such a way to avoid spillage of hot liquids. Do not place the device near heat sources, places with high humidity levels, or combustible materials.
– Use this appliance for the purposes described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by Cecotec and may adversely affect the appliance’s lifespan. Incorrect or improper use can be dangerous for both the device and the user.
– When using electrical and electronic appliances, basic precautions must always be taken to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury.
– Switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains when not in use for some time and before moving it or cleaning it. Let it cool down completely before cleaning. Do not leave the appliance plugged into an unattended mains socket.
– Inspect the power cord regularly for visible damage, especially the cord, plug, and plug casing. Do not use the appliance if it’s damaged or does not work properly, has been dropped, or damaged. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec to avoid any type of danger.
– Do not try to repair the device by yourself. Contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec for advice.
– Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating label of the device and that the wall outlet is grounded.
– Do not block the openings of the appliance or obstruct the airflow around it. Keep openings free of any objects, and do not block them with clothes or your fingers.
– It is recommended that the room the appliance is in is equipped with an extractor fan or is ventilated. Do not operate it outdoors.
– Do not twist, bend, pull, or damage the power cord. Protect it from sharp edges and heat sources. Do not allow it to touch hot surfaces. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the working surface or worktop.
– The appliance should not be used in potentially dangerous locations, such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden, or wet atmospheres.
– Do not place the device against the wall. Leave a safety distance of 10 cm on the back of the appliance and 10 cm on each side. Do not place any object on top of the appliance when in use.

BEFORE USE

– This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the device out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent product damage when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
– Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or not in good condition, immediately contact the Technical Support Service of Cecotec.
– Clean the cooking plates with a wet sponge or cloth. Dry the plates with a cloth or paper towel.
– For optimal results, cover both plates with some oil or butter.
Warning
You may notice a slight burning smell or smoke when using the product for the first time, caused by the excess of lubricants from the manufacturing process. This does not affect the safety of your appliance.

OPERATION

– Close the electric grill and plug it into a mains socket. The power light indicator will light up, indicating that the grill is on, and the operation light indicator will light up, indicating that the electric grill has started to heat up.
– It will take approximately 2 minutes for the electric grill to reach optimal temperature.
When the temperature is reached, the operation light indicator will turn off.
This electric grill comes with a special handle and hinges that allow it to adapt to any food thickness, so it can be used in different ways:
– As a contact grill: lower the top cooking plate and leave the locking latch halfway, so as not to let the cooking plates close completely.
– As a panini grill: lower the top cooking plate and completely close the locking latch. As an open grill: place your left hand on the handle and, with your right hand, press the 180° release button to the right of the hinge. Open the top cooking plate until it rests flat on the worktop.Img. 2
– When using this appliance with more than one food type, it is important that they are similar in thickness for them to cook equally.
– When food is ready, open the locking latch and use the handle to open the grill (if necessary).
Remove the food with the help of a plastic spatula. Do not use metal tongs or a knife on the grill, as these can damage the non-stick coating of the cooking plates.
Detachable plates
– Unplug the electric grill from the outlet and allow it to cool down completely before removing the cooking plates.
– Open the grill 180º as indicated above.
– Press the upper-plate release button and slide the upper plate along the metal bracket to remove it.
– Repeat this step with the bottom-plate release button to remove the bottom one.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

– Unplug the electric grill from the power socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
The device is easier to clean when slightly warm.
– Clean the electric grill’s plates after each use with a soft, non-abrasive scouring pad to remove food residues. If any food sticks to the cooking plates, pour a bit of warm water mixed with detergent over the food residue and clean the plates with a non-abrasive scouring pad.
– The use of detergent or abrasive materials may damage the plates’ non-stick coating.
– Clean the outside of the electric grill only with a slightly damp cloth. Do not clean the outside with any abrasive scouring pad, as this will damage the finish.
– Do not immerse the electric grill in water or any other liquid.
– No part of the appliance is dishwasher safe.
– Clean the grease tray after each use with hot soapy water. Avoid the use of scouring pads or harsh detergents, as they may damage the surface. Rinse the grease tray and dry it completely with a soft, dry cloth.
– Store the appliance in a cool, dry place when not in use.
– Wrap the power cord around the base of the appliance for better storage.
