HOW TO ASSEMBLE PLUMBING MATERIALS
- To assemble the plumbing materials, follow the connection diagram shown in Figure 1.
- Verify the proper orientation of the pressure regulator and check valve. A small arrow is marked on the side of the check valve and the labels “IN” and “OUT” are marked on the bottom of the pressure regulator as indicators for the correct orientation for both parts. If these parts are installed in the reverse position, this will block the water flow to the coffee machine.
- The water tubing must be measured and cut to size:
-
Between the 3/8 NPTF connector and shut off valve, cut 12 inches of tubing, Between the 1/4 NPTF connector and check valve, cut 4 inches of tubing.
-
Measure the distance from check valve to the placement area of the water filter and the distance from the filter placement to the coffee machine. Cut tubing to size needed. If possible, cut tubing to a longer length to accommodate for some slack and avoid stretching the line.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE PLUMBING MATERIALS (CONT.)- When connecting water tubing to the Murlok connectors, firmly push water tube into the quick connectors and pull to ensure proper fastening (as shown in Figure 2). Then attach a locking clip around the collar of the quick connector to prevent any risk of disconnection.
- For threaded connections, the use of Teflon tape is required. Wrap 2-3 layers of Teflon tape over each thread connection to safeguard against leaks.
- Donot overtighten threaded connections. Overtightening will damage the threads and cause leaks.
HOW TO INSTALL FILTER CARTRIDGE AND SET WATER FLOW BYPASS
For instructions on determining and setting the proper filter head blend
bypass, installing the filter cartridge and performing a rinse prior to
connecting the water line to the coffee machine, please refer to the 3M Water
Filtration Installation Manual included with the filter.

• “Direct Water” program setting must be turned on. Please review the “HOW TO ACTIVATE DIRECT WATER CONNECTION” section and adjust the setting accordingly.
• The water supply is blocked. Ensure the following: Direct water supply is turned on or the orientation of the check valve and pressure regulator is correct. Review “HOW TO ASSEMBLE PLUMBING MATERIALS” section.
A full rinsing of the filter was not performed. Review installation instructions provided with the filter cartridge. DWC Kit is improperly connected. Check that direct water line is properly plugged into port 3. Review “HOW TO ATTACH DIRECT WATER LINE TO NESPRESSO MOMENTO” section. -
The tank(s) fill with water up to approximately 1/3 of the way. This is normal to ensure fresh water is always available in the tank(s). As water is used, the unit will auto fill the tank(s) with a small amount of water.
