- Carefully pull house wires out of the junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.
- Position the mounting bracket (A) with the threaded ends of the attached fixture mounting screws (E) facing down towards the floor.
- Thread each junction box screw (B) into the holes in the mounting bracket (A) and the holes in the junction box. Tighten the junction box screws (B) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. Caution: Make sure house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket. Do not pinch wires between the mounting bracket and ceiling.
Shade and Center Stem Installation
- Lower the shade (K) down over the center stem (P). Pass the fixture wires through the hole in the top of the shade (K). Pass the top of the center stem (P) through the hole in the top of the shade (K).
- Slip the fixture wires through the hole in the coupling (L). Thread the coupling (L) onto the top of the center stem (P). Tighten the coupling (L) to secure the center stem (P) in place. Do not over-tighten.
Electrical Wiring
- At least one 6-inch stem (N) must be used.
- Strip 3/4 of the insulation from the ends of the fixture wires.
- Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A), but do not completely remove it. Wrap the house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart below for correct wire connections.
- Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart below for correct wire connections.
- Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts (C) and wires to ensure they are securely fastened.
- Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
