Preparation

  • Tools needed: screwdriver, tape measure, pencil

Installation

  • If there is a drilled hole for the lockset on the door, go to STEP 3

Mark the door with a template

  • Measure the dimensions from the door edge to the centre of the hole on the door face.
  • Use the TEMPLATE as an indication to mark the centre of the circle on the door face and the centre of the door edge.

Drill Holes

  • Measure the dimensions from the door edge to the centre of the hole on the door face.
  • Using the marks as a guide to drill a hole 02-1/8″ (54 mm) through the door face for the lockset, then a hole of 01″ (25.4 mm) for the latch.

Adjust Latch if needed
Measure the dimension as shown. If the measurement is 23/4′ (70mm), please adjust the latch.

Latch Adjustment

  • Determine if the latch needs to be adjusted to the 2-3/4″ (70 mm) backset.
  • To adjust, rotate the latch until it stops.
  • Reverse the direction to return to the 2-3/8″ (60 mm) backset.

Install the strike into the door frame

  • To identify the centre of the strike: close the door to lay the latchbolt against the door frame. Mark the centre line on the doorframe exactly opposite the latch hole in the door edge.
  • Measure one-half of the door thickness from the door stop and vertically mark the centre line of the strike. Drill 1″ (25.4 mm) hole, 1″ (25.4 mm) deep at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical line of strike.
  • Chisel 5/64″ (2 mm) deep along the strike outline to allow the strike to be aligned with the doorframe.
  • Install the strike plate into your door frame and tighten it with wood screws.

Identify door handling and install the keypad
For left-handed doors or right-handed doors, the tailpiece must be vertical when installed.

Fingerprint Scanning Tips & Troubleshoot

Tips for Fingerprint Enrollment and Recognition

  • Place your finger to completely cover the sensor with maximum contact surtace.
  • Position the centre of your finger (core) to the centre of the sensor.
  • Hold your finger still for more than a second until you hear a beep.
  • Scan a finger that is clean and free from dirt. If a finger is cracked and dry, lightly moisten the finger to improve recognition.

  • The elderly with fading fingerprints may have difficulty in recognition.
  • If your finger has a cut, scar, or cracked skin due to dryness, try another finger.

In case of poor fingerprint conditions

  • WET – wipe excess moisture from the finger before scanning.
  • DRY- moisturize or blow warm breath over the finger before scanning.
  • DIRTY – wipe stains and dirt off from your finger before scanning.
  • Make sure the sensor is clean from dirt or smudges – wipe the sensor with a soft cloth regularly.
