Product Usage Instructions

Installation

  1. Disconnect Power: Before installation, disconnect the power at the main fuse box.
  2. Code Requirements: This fixture should be installed under the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, it is recommended to have the installation done by a certified electrician.
  3. Pre-Assembly: Remove all parts and part packages from the box. If anything is missing, please contact the retailer from which the product was purchased.
  4. Pulling House Wires: Carefully pull the house wires out of the junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.
  5. Mounting Bracket Positioning: Position the mounting bracket (A) so that the threaded ends of the attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing down towards the floor.
  6. Pulling House Wires Through Bracket: Carefully pull the house wires through the center hole in the mounting bracket (A). Align the small holes in the mounting bracket (A) with the holes in the junction box.
  7. Securing Mounting Bracket: Thread each junction box screw (B) into the appropriate hole in the mounting bracket (A) and the hole in the junction box. Tighten the junction box screws (B) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. Make sure the house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket and avoid pinching the wires between the bracket and ceiling.
  8. Attaching Ring and Finial: Slip the ring (N) onto the end of the center stem in between the arms. Thread the finial (L) onto the end of the center stem. Tighten the finial (L) to secure the ring (N) in place.

  9. Stripping Insulation: Strip 3/4 of insulation from the ends of the fixture wires.
  10. Ground Connection: Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A). Do not completely remove the ground screw. Wrap the house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire (copper) together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart for correct wire connections.
  11. Lead and Neutral Connections: Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart for correct wire connections.
  12. Securing Wire Connections: Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts (C) and wires to ensure they are securely fastened.
  13. Completing Installation: Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

  1. Carefully pull house wires out of the junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.
  2. Position mounting bracket (A) so threaded ends of attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing down towards the floor.
  3. Carefully pull house wires through the center hole in the mounting bracket (A). Align small holes in mounting bracket (A) with holes in the junction box.
  4. Thread each junction box screw (B) into the appropriate hole in the mounting bracket (A) and hole in the junction box. Tighten junction box screws (B) to secure mounting bracket (A) to a junction box.
    • CAUTION: Make sure house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket. DO NOT pinch wires between the mounting bracket and ceiling.
  5. Slip ring (N) onto the end of the center stem in between arms. Thread the finial (L) onto the end of the center stem. Tighten the finial (L) to secure ring (N) in place.
  6. Strip 3/4” of insulation from the ends of fixture wires.
  7. Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A). Do not completely remove the ground screw. Wrap house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire.
    • Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire (copper) together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference the chart below for correct wire connections.
      Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to:

      Bare Copper Wire or,
      Bare Silver Wire or,
      Green Insulated Wire.

  8. Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference chart to the right for correct wire connections.
  9. Wrap electrical tape (not included) around wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure wires are securely fastened into wire nuts.
  10. Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
    Connect Black Lead Supply (House) Wire to:| Connect White Neutral Supply (House) Wire to:

    Black Wire or,| White Wire or,
    Parallel Cord (Round and Smooth) or,| Parallel Cord (Square and Ridged) or,
    No printed words on wire insulation or,| Printed words on wire insulation or,
    Insulated Wire (other than green)

with Copper Conductor.

with Silver Conductor.

*When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used: The lead wire is round in shape or smooth. The neutral wire is square or ridged.
11. Carefully raise the fixture to the ceiling. Place canopy (D) of fixture over mounting bracket (A). Pass holes in canopy (D) over ends of fixture mounting screws (E). 12. Screw one threaded cap (F) onto the end of each fixture mounting screw (E). Tighten threaded caps (F) to secure the fixture to the ceiling. DO NOT over-tighten. 13. Screw recommended bulbs (E12 candelabra bulb type, not included) into sockets. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture.

  • WARNING: DO NOT exceed maximum bulb wattage.
  1. Carefully pass the hole in shade (K) down over the bulb Turn shade (K) clockwise to secure shade (K) in place. DO NOT over-tighten.
