Product Usage Instructions

Installation

  1. Disconnect power at the main fuse box before installation.
  2. This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended.
  3. Before assembly, remove all parts and part packages from the box. If anything is missing, please contact the retailer from which the product was purchased.
  4. Position the mounting bracket (A) so that the threaded ends of the attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing out.
  5. Carefully pull the house wires through the large hole in the mounting bracket (A). Align the holes in the mounting bracket (A) with the holes in the junction box. Make sure the fixture mounting screws (E) are level.
  6. Thread each junction box screw (B) into the holes in the mounting bracket (A) and the holes in the junction box. Tighten the junction box screws (B) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. CAUTION: Make sure the house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket. DO NOT pinch wires between the mounting bracket and wall.

Wire Connections

  • Strip 3/4 of the insulation from the ends of the fixture wires. Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A), but do not completely remove it. Wrap the house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart below for correct wire connections.
  • Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to:
    • Bare Copper Wire
      • Bare Silver Wire
      • Green Insulated Wire
  • Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart on the right for correct wire connections.
  • Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts (C) and wires to ensure they are securely fastened.

Mounting and Assembly

  1. Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
  2. Place the backplate (D) over the mounting bracket (A). Pass the holes in the backplate (D) over the ends of the fixture mounting screws (E). CAUTION: Do not pinch wires between the backplate and the wall.
  3. Screw one threaded ball (F) onto the end of each fixture mounting screw (E). Tighten both threaded balls (F) to secure the fixture (D) to the wall. DO NOTover-tightenn.
  4. Raise the shade (K) to the fixture. Fit the shade (K) inside the cage. Pass the hole in the top of the shade (K) over the socket.
  5. Using the socket ring tool (G), thread the socket ring (L) onto the socket. Tighten the socket ring to secure the shade (K) in place. DO NOTover-tightenn.
  6. Screw the recommended bulb (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the socket. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture. WARNING: DO NOT exceed the maximum bulb wattage.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

  1. Position mounting bracket (A) so threaded ends of attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing out.

  2. Carefully pull house wires through a large hole in the mounting bracket (A). Align holes in mounting bracket (A) with holes in the junction box. Make sure fixture mounting screws (E) are level.

  3. Thread each junction box screw (B) into holes in the mounting bracket (A) and holes in the junction box. Tighten junction box screws (B) to secure mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. CAUTION: Make sure house wires are pulled completely throughthe  hole inthe  mounting bracket. DO NOT pinch wires between mthe ounting bracket and wall.

  4. Strip 3/4” of insulation from the ends of fixture wires.

  5. Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A). Do not completely remove the ground screw. Wrap house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference the chart below for correct wire connections.

  1. Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference chart to the right for correct wire connections.

  2. Wrap electrical tape (not included) around wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure wires are securely fastened into wire nuts.

  3. Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into jthe unction box.

  4. Place backplate (D) over mounting bracket (A). Pass holes in the backplate (D) over the ends of fixture mounting screws (E). CAUTION: Do not pinch wires between the backplate and the wall.

  5. Screw one threaded ball (F) onto the end of each fixture mounting screw (E). Tighten both threaded balls (F) to secure fixture (D) to the wall. DO NOT over-tighten.

  6. Raise shade (K) to the fixture. Fit shade (K) inside the age. Pass hole in the top of shade (K) over the socket.

  7. Using socket ring tool (G), thread socket ring (L) onto the socket. Tighten the socket ring to secure shade (K) in place. DO NOT over-tighten.

  8. Screw recommended bulb (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the socket. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture. WARNING: DO NOT exceed maximum bulb wattage.

Instructions for Mounting Fixture Outdoors or in Wet Location

  1. The mounting surface should be clean, dry, flat and 1/4” larger than the canopy on all sides. Any gaps between the mounting surface and the canopy exceeding 3/16” should be corrected as required.
  2. Apply silicone caulking compound around the top and sides of the canopy where the back of the canopy meets the wall surface to prevent water from seeping into the junction box. Leave the bottom unsealed so moisture can drain out.
    MAINTENANCE NOTE: Only use a soft damp cloth to clean fthe ixture as needed. DO NOT use harsh chemicals on fixtures. Harsh chemicals may damage the fixture. Coastal conditions may cause mineral and residue buildup on the fixture. It is recommended that customers in coastal areas clean all external surfaces of fixtures once every two weeks with a wet cloth.
