Fitting the Air Suspension Brackets and Bellows

To install the air suspension brackets and bellows, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the original bump stop on both sides of the chassis beam.
  2. Mount the upper bracket with the raised edge on the outside of the chassis beam using the M10x25 DIN7991 bolt.
  3. Refer to the bill of materials for the required nuts, washers, and bolts.
  4. Repeat the process on the other side of the vehicle.

  • Thank you for purchasing the MAD air suspension kit. Read these installation instructions carefully before mounting.
  • The installation of the auxiliary air spring kit must be done by a qualified technician. Damage due to improper assembly or modifications to the product is excluded from the MAD warranty.
  • The auxiliary air kit can be ordered with different operating systems. The mounting brackets and bellows for these different controls are the same. For installation of the operating system, refer to the appropriate part of this installation manual.
  • Mount the original parts of the vehicle according to the instructions in the workshop manual.
  • Protect metal parts with an anti-corrosion coating.
  • Check the headlight beams, and readjust if necessary.

Technical specifications

Air pressure

  • Remove the original bump stop and mount the top bracket with the raised edge on the outside of the chassis beam. Use bolt M10x25 DIN7991.
  • Top left: Loosen the wiring. Then secure it with a pull strap at the overlying wiring so that it is lying free from the mounted bracket.
  • Bottom right: Undo the brake line support from the rear axle and gently press it a little away from the rear axle.
  • Bottom left: Loosen the bolt of the brake line support to make room for fitting the air bellows.
  • Tilt the air below between the upper bracket and the rear axle. Pay attention to the position of the air connection.
  • Tighten the top of the air below with the supplied M8 bolts.
  • Place the lower bracket on the round plate of the rear axle. Pay attention to the converted edge on the outside.
  • Fasten the support with the supplied mounting material. Do not forget to place the spacer bush.
  • Retighten the brake line supports.
  • Result: Note that nothing touches the airbag.

  • The operation panel can be fitted at several locations. If the panel has to be fit into the cabin of the vehicle then it has to be fitted, according to ECE-R 21 between or behind the seats of the last seating row.
  • The operation panel can also be fitted in the loading space of the vehicle.

  • Connect the air lines and wire harness according to the diagram. Make sure that the airlines and wiring are free from sharp edges. Install the compressor in a sheltered dry place.

Air Master Automatic

  1. Mount the sensor bracket directing vertically downward on the inside of the chassis beam. Use the enclosed bodywork ring at the back.MAD-NR-067074-B-AirMaster-Basic-FIG-20
  2. Mount the magnet bracket on the rear axle. Keep a distance between the magnet and the sensor of approximately 30 mm. The final adjustment will be mentioned later on.
  3. Use the two indicated holes for mounting the compressor support.
  4. Use enclosed installation material. Use spacer “R” at the rear attachment corresponding with the longer bolt.
  5. Result. Connect the electrical wiring and air tubes according to this wiring diagram.

  • Connect the air lines and wire harness according to the diagram. Make sure that the airlines and wiring are free from sharp edges.
  • Adjust the Air Master Automatic system so that the distance between the sensor and magnet is about 30 mm. Place the magnet so that it is a little above the center of the sensor unit.
  • It is possible to adjust the ride height of the car by sliding the magnet over the bracket.
  • Switch on the ignition and wait about 25 sec. This is a time delay to prevent the compressor from reacting to every movement of the vehicle. The vehicle is going automatically to the adjusted ride height.MAD-NR-067074-B-AirMaster-Basic-FIG-24
