Product Usage Instructions

Section 1: Power Kit Installation

  1. Shut off the electricity at the breaker that controls the doorbell’s circuit.
  2. Insert one end of the wire harness into the power kit.
  3. Remove the cover from your mechanical chime.
  4. Remove the existing chime wires from the terminals named TRANS and FRONT.
  5. Connect the wire harness to the chime’s terminals named TRANS and FRONT.
  6. Insert the existing chime wire and the other end of the wire harness into the wire connector and twist it tightly. Repeat this step with the other chime wire.
  7. Mount the power kit to the side of the chime.
  8. Replace the chime cover.

Section 2: Doorbell Installation

  1. Shut off the electricity at the breaker that controls the doorbell’s circuit.
  2. (Optional) If the wall is uneven, paste the plate foam to the mounting plate.
  3. Mark the drill points with a pencil.
  4. Drill holes according to the drill points and insert anchors.
  5. Affix the mounting plate to the wall.
  6. Press the doorbell button and edge to remove the doorbell’s faceplate.
  7. Connect the doorbell to your existing doorbell wires using the U-shaped wires.
  8. Insert the pegs on the back of the doorbell into the mounting plate.
  9. Lock the security screws.
  10. Restore the electricity at the breaker.

Section 3: ClareVision App Installation

  1. Add to the ClareVision app:
    • Search ClareVision in the App Store or Google Play to download and install the ClareVision App.
  2. Option A – Add doorbell (from remote network):
    • On the Home screen, go to the menu in the top left to Add Device.
    • Select Add Doorbell and then select Scan QR code from shared device.
    • Scan the QR code on the device or the cover of this manual when the indicator flashes blue.
    • Wait for the device to be added.
  3. Option B – Add doorbell (Not on a network):
    • Select Add Doorbell and then select Device is not on a network.
    • Press the Reset button for 10 seconds and wait for a voice prompt.
    • Wait for a few seconds until you see the LED indicator flashing blue.
    • After the reset is complete, navigate to this phone’s WiFi settings and connect this phone to the doorbell’s WiFi network. Once connected, return to this screen and proceed to the next step.
    • Enter the password for the device and change the device name. Once done, proceed to the next step.
    • Search for the Wi-Fi you want the device to connect to and enter the password.
  4. After completing the final installation, place the doorbell faceplate on the device.

FAQ

  • What should I do if the doorbell’s LED indicator is flashing red?
    If the doorbell’s LED indicator is flashing red, it indicates a memory card exception. Please check if the microSD card is inserted correctly and functioning properly.

  • What should I do if the doorbell’s LED indicator is flashing blue?
    If the doorbell’s LED indicator is flashing blue, it could mean one of the following:

    • The doorbell is ready for Wi-Fi configuration.
    • The doorbell is in factory reset mode.
    • The doorbell is charging.
    • The doorbell is in a video call.

NOTE

  • If you have a mechanical chime installed in your home, install the power kit and doorbell.
  • If you have an electronic chime installed in your home, refer to its manual to install the power kit, and install the doorbell.
  • If no chime is installed, skip power kit installation, install the doorbell.

POWER KIT INSTALLATION

  1. Shut off the electricity at the breaker that controls the doorbell’s circuit.
  2. Insert one end of the wire harness into the power kit.

  1. Remove the cover from your mechanical chime.
  2. Remove the existing chime wires from the terminals named TRANS and FRONT.

  1. Connect the wire harness to the chime’s terminals named TRANS and FRONT.
  2. Insert the existing chime wire and the other end of the wire harness into the wire connector, and twist it tightly. Repeat this step with the other chime wire.

  1. Mount the power kit to the side of the chime.
  2. Replace the chime cover.

Doorbell Installation

Recommended Installation Height: 1.2 m (4 ft) above the ground.

Recommended Hole Depth: 25 to 30 mm (1 inch to 1.2 inch).

  1. Connect doorbell to your existing doorbell wires.

NOTE

  * Recommended Hole Depth: 25 to 30 mm (1 inch to 1.2 inch).
  * Power Supply: 12 to 30 VAC.
  1. Insert the pegs on the back of the doorbell into the mounting plate.
  2. Lock the Security Screws.

  1. Restore the electricity at the breaker.

NOTE

  * Doorbell is powered on when its indicator steady on red. If not, make sure your electricity is off and check the wiring. If yes, proceed to doorbell setup.
  * For the first time use, please power on the doorbell and wait for 3 hours before using it, or the chime in your home may not work.

DOORBELL SETUP

  1. Add to the ClareVision app.
    Search “ClareVision” in the App Store or Google Play to download and install the ClareVision App.

    • OptionA : Add doorbell (from the remote network)
    1. On the Home screen, go to the menu in the top left to Add Device.

    2. Select “Add Doorbell“ –> Select “Scan QR code from shared device”.

  3. Scan the QR code on the device or the cover of this manual when the indicator flashes blue.
  4. Waiting for the device to be added.
  *  **OptionB:Add doorbell (Not on a network)**
  1. Select “Add Doorbell” –> Select “Device is not on a network”.

  2. Press the Reset button for 10?seconds, and then you will hear a voice prompt.
  3. Wait for a few seconds, until you see the LED indicator flashing blue.
  4. After the reset is complete, navigate to this phone’s WiFi settings and connect this phone to the doorbell’s WiFi network. Once connect-ed. return to this screen and proceed to the next step.
  5. Enter the password for the device and change the device name. Once done, proceed to the next step.

  6. Search out the Wi-Fi you want the device to connect to, and enter password.  

NOTE
If you want to change your doorbell’s Wi-Fi, press and hold the reset button for 5s and repeat this step.

  1. After complete final installation, place the doorbell face plate on the device.

Use AP Mode for Wi-Fi Configuration

  1. For AP hotspot configuration, press the Reset button for 5?seconds, and then you will hear a voice prompt.
  2. Wait for a few seconds, until you see the LED indicator flashing blue.
  3. Follow the voice prompt to connect Wi-Fi.

  1. Go back to the Clare Vision app after successful connection. Tap Next.
  2. Search out the Wi-Fi you want the device to connect to, and enter password.

SD CARD MANAGEMENT

  1. In the Clare Vision app, tap the SD Card Information in the Device Settings interface to check the SD card status.
  2. If the card status displays as Uninitialized, tap to initialize it.
    The status will then change to Normal, and it can store videos and/or pictures.

NOTE
Initialize SD Card will delete any existing recording.

Connecting the Doorbell to an NVR
The Video Doorbell can be connected to a NVR for viewing and recording.

  1. Open the NVR interface .

  2. Go to Channel Management–>Channel Configuration.

  3. Click the Manually Add tab above the list to enter the add network camera (custom) interface.

  4. Enter the following information.

    • IP Camera Address: [doorbell’s IP address]]
    • Protocol: HIKVISION
    • Management Port: 8000
    • User Name: admin
    • Password: [Last 8-digit Serial No.]
  5. Click Add to finish adding the doorbell.
