Introduction
Observe and Obey:
This procedure shall be completed by a person trained and qualified on the
repair ofthis machine.
Immediately tag and remove from service a damaged or malfunctioning machine.
Repair any machine damage or malfunction before operating the machine.
Before Starting Installation:
Read, understand and obey the safety rules and operating instructions in the
appropriate operator’s manual.
Be sure that all necessary tools and parts are available and ready for use.
Read this procedure completely and adhere to the instructions. Attempting
shortcuts may produce hazardous conditions.
Note: These installation instructions only apply to the Genie models and serial number ranges listed within this document.

Procedure
Note: Perform this procedure on a firm, level surface with the machine in
the stowed position.

Turn the key switch to the off position and push in the red Emergency Stop button to the off position at the ground controls.

Disconnect the battery pack from the machine.
WARNING
Electrocution/burn hazard.
Contact with electrically charged circuits could result in death or serious injury. Remove all rings, watches and other jewelry. -
Locate the beacon bracket on the machine.

Mark the locations on the beacon bracket to drill the required holes.
Note: Refer to the Drilling Diagram that is appropriate for your machine. -
Using a 13/64 in / 5 mm drill bit, drill and deburr the holes required to mount the keypad mounting assembly.

Install and secure the keypad mount onto the beacon bracket using the provided retaining fasteners.

Secure the keypad onto the keypad mount using the provided retaining fasteners.

Open the ground controls compartment.

Locate and disconnect Genie Lift Connect telematics device from the 12 pin gateway harness.

Connect the telematics device harness connector to the 12 pin connector of access manager harness.
Genie part number 1305083GT -
Connect the 12 pin connector of the access manager harness to the 12 pin gateway harness.
Note: Harness connectors are keyed for proper installation.
NOTICE
Component damage hazard.
Improper connections will result in damage to the telematics module and it is not covered under warranty.

Route the 5 pin connector of access manager harness towards the access manager keypad harness and secure the harness.
Note: Secure the cable using the provided cable ties.
Genie part number 21121GT -
Connect the 5 pin access manager keypad harness connector to the 5 pin connector of access manager harness.

Align white dots on the connector and push the plug together to connect the access manager harness to the keypad.

Tighten the connector to hand tight.

Connect the battery pack to the machine.
-
Place the Access Manager user guide in the manual storage box located on the machine.

Software Version
Note: Not all machines will require a software update.
- Verify the software revision on your machine.
- Turn the key switch to ground control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position.
- Read and record the software version displayed on the LCD screen.

Note: Refer to the following chart to determine if the machine software
requires updating.

Note: Models with a software version listed is the minimum requirement to support Access Manager and does not require an immediate software update.
Genie recommends updating the machine software to receive the latest updates
and features available. Refer to the Genie Firmware website.
Note: Models with a lower revision level must update the system software.

Access the firmware website address below:

From the drop-down menu, select the model that is appropriate for your machine.

Update the software using the appropriate instructions for your machine.
Access Manager Activation
- Navigate to the Options menu on the machine and verify Lift Connect is selected.
- To complete activation of your Access Manager keypad please contact the Lift Connect team.
