Product Usage Instructions
- Disconnect power at the main fuse box before installation.
- This fixture should be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, it is recommended to have the installation done by a certified electrician.
- Before assembly, remove all parts and part packages from the box. If anything is missing, please contact the retailer from which the product was purchased.
- Position the mounting bracket (A) so that the attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing outward and are at the top and bottom of the mounting bracket (A).
- Temporarily place the mounting bracket (A) over the junction box. Align the holes in the center of the mounting bracket (A) with the holes in the junction box. Mark on the wall the location of each hole in the top and bottom of the mounting bracket (A). Set aside the mounting bracket (A).
- Using a drill bit of appropriate size, drill a hole at each marked location on the wall. Carefully insert a wall anchor (F) into each hole in the wall.
- Position the mounting bracket (A) again so that the attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing outward and are at the top and bottom of the mounting bracket (A).
- Carefully pull the house wires through the hole in the center of the mounting bracket (A).
- Align the holes in the top and bottom of the mounting bracket (A) with each wall anchor (F). Also, align the holes in the center of the mounting bracket (A) with each hole in the junction box. Ensure that the mounting bracket (A) is level.
- Thread each wall screw (G) into the holes in the top and bottom of the mounting bracket (A) and into the wall anchors (F). Do not fully tighten the wall screws (G) at this time.
- Thread each junction box screw (B) into the holes in the center of the mounting bracket (A) and into the holes in the junction box. Tighten both the junction box screws (B) and wall screws (G) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. Take caution to ensure that the house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket and not pinched between the bracket and the wall.
- Strip 3/4 of insulation from ends of fixture wires.
- Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A), but do not completely remove it. Wrap the house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart below for correct wire connections.
- Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist a wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires and completely tighten it. Refer to the chart on the right for correct wire connections.
