Installation Instructions

The SYLVANIA LED HIDr is designed to use direct AC power (120-277VAC; 50/60Hz). The LED HIDr cannot be dimmed.

WARNING

TO AVOID PERSONAL IN.IJRY, PROPERTY DAMAGE AND/OR POSSIBLE PRODUCT DAMAGE: • WARNING – Risk of electrical shock. Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing.

• WARNING -Risk of fire or electric shock. Luminaire wiring and electrical parts may be damaged when drillingfor installation of LED retrofit kit. Check for enclosed wiring and components.
• WARNING – Risk of fire or electric shock. LED Retrofit Kit installation requires knowledge of luminaires electrical systems.Hnot qualllled, do not attempt Installation. Contact a qualllled electrfclan.
• WARNING – Risk of electric shock. lnstal this kit only in the luminaires that have the construction features and dimensions shown in the phol!lgraphs and/or drawings and where the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire
• Only those open holes indicated in the photographs and/or drawings may be made or altered as a result of kit Installation. Do not leave any other open holes In an enclosure of wiring or electrical components.
• Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or elec1rical components during kit inslallatioo.
• WARNING – To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring Ill edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
• Installers should not disconnect existing wires from lamp socket terminals Ill make new connections at lamp socket terminals. Instead installer should cut existing lamp socket leads away from the lamp socket and make new electrical connectioos to lamp socket lead wires by employing applicable connectors.
• To prevent early lamp failure, lamp should only be installed in operating environments ranging between:
  • 40°C and +50°C (-40°F and+ 122°F)
• No user serviceable parts inside. To avoid electrical shock do not disassemble product.
• This product is not intended for use in emergency light fixtures or exit signs.
• Caution: Sultable for damp locations – Not for use where directly exposed to water.
• LED Retrofi1 Lumlnaire Conversion for use only with HID Luminaires.
• Caution: Do not use with dimmers.
• Suitable for use in enclosed luminaires.
• This luminaire has been modified Ill operate LED lamps. Do not attempt to install or operate HID lamps in this luminaire. Ballast by-pass is requirered.
• Do not use with traditional HID ballast.
• Not suited for outdoor fixtures with air vents.
• Use only with a porteble table lumineire that is provided with a shade.
• Use in portable table luminaires in which the distance from the bottom of the base to the top of the lampholder does not exceed three (3) times the minimum base diameter.

CAUTION

• Tum power off before inspection, installation or removal.
• The lamp is suitable for use in dry and damp locations. Use only on 1 ‘l0-277 VAC, 50/60Hz circuits.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful Interference In a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, ii not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there Is no guarantee that Interference will not occur In a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by tuning the equipment off and on, Ille user Is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of Ille following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Installation Instructions:

• Step 1 : Shut power OFF to the fixture.
• Step 2: Verify fixture size before installation to ensure fit.
• Step 3: Remove lens (if present) on the lighting fixture.
• Step 4: Remove existing lamp.
• Step 5: Remove or bypass ballast (including igniter and capacitor if present).
• Step 6: If reusing existing components, such as lamp holders, inspect parts for damage and replace if needed.
• Step 7: Connect Input leads directly to the existing socket.
• Step 8: Install HIDr lamp and use tether Of required) to secure the lamp to the fixture. If tether is not required, cut it off from the lamp.
• Step 9: Peel off the provided caution label and install on a visible location inside the fixture. Step 1 O: Reinstall lens (if necessary) on the light fixture.
• Step 11: Reconnect power and tum on the lights!

CAUTION:

This luminaire has been modified to operate LED lamps. Do not attempt to install or operate HID lamps in this luminaire. To avoid injury or fixture damage use only LEDVANCE LLC LED HIDr lamps for lamp replacement.

LED LIMITED WARRANTY

5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: The manufacturer warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years from date of purchase when used as directed. Failure to comply with Product warnings shall void the warranty. This warranty does not cover Product subject to accident, neglect, abuse, misuse, or acts of God. If Product fails to operate according to the warranty, the manufacturer will replace Product with the same or similar Product, at no charge. The product should be returned, together with proof of date of purchase, to the retail store where Product was purchased.
