Intended Use

The Multi Electric Stand is designed to be used as a multifunctional base for stable fixing and height-adjustable installation of keyboards, synthesizers, stage pianos, etc. It is not suitable for lifting persons. Only use the device as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under different operating conditions is considered improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. We do not assume liability for damages resulting from improper use. This device should only be used by individuals with sufficient physical, sensory, and intellectual abilities, as well as corresponding knowledge and experience. Other individuals may use this device only under supervision or instruction from someone responsible for their safety.

There is a risk of electric shock leading to a fire hazard and potential death. Always use a proper ready-made insulated triple-core mains cable with a safety plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. If isolation damage is detected, immediately disconnect the power supply and arrange for repair. If unsure, seek advice from a qualified electrician.

Intended use

This device is intended for use as a multifunctional base for stable fixing and height-adjustable installation of keyboards, synthesizers, stage pianos, etc. and is not suitable for lifting persons. Use the device only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages resulting from improper use. This device may be used only by persons with sufficient physical, sensorial, and intellectual abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.

DANGER: Risk of injury and choking hazard for children!
Children can suffocate on packaging material and small parts. Children can injure themselves when handling the device. Never allow children to play with the packaging material and the device. Always store packaging material out of the reach of babies and small children. Always dispose of packaging material properly when it is not in use. Never allow children to use the device without supervision. Keep small parts away from children and make sure that the device does not shed any small parts (such knobs) that children could play with.

DANGER: Danger to life due to electric current!

A short circuit could lead to a fire hazard and risk of death. Always use proper ready-made insulated triple-core mains cable with a safety plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. In case of isolation damage, disconnect immediately the power supply and arrange repair. If in doubt, seek advice from a qualified electrician.

CAUTION: Risk of injury due to tipping, excessive loading and improper use!

In case of excessive and uneven loading, the product might tip over, causing injury and property damage. The product cannot hold people. Never sit down on the product. Never exceed the specified maximum load for the product.

CAUTION: Risk of injury due to tipping of stand on an unsuitable ground!

If the stand is placed on soft or uneven ground, it may overturn and cause injuries and property damage. Place the stand only on flat and solid ground.

NOTICE: Damage to the device if operated in unsuitable ambient conditions!

The device can be damaged if it is operated in unsuitable ambient conditions. Only operate the device indoors within the ambient conditions specified in the “Technical specifications” chapter of this user manual. Avoid operating it in environments with direct sunlight, heavy dirt and strong vibrations. Avoid operating it in environments with strong temperature fluctuations. If temperature fluctuations cannot be avoided (for example after transport in low outside temperatures), do not switch on the device immediately. Never subject the device to liquids or moisture. Never move the device to another location while it is in operation.
In environments with increased dirt levels (for example due to dust, smoke, nicotine or mist): Have the device cleaned by qualified specialists at regular intervals to prevent damage due to overheating and other malfunctions.

NOTICE: Possible staining due to plasticiser in rubber feet!

The plasticiser contained in the rubber feet of this product may react with the coating of the floor and cause permanent dark stains after some time. If necessary, use a suitable mat or felt slide to prevent direct contact between the device’s rubber feet and the floor.

Assembly

Tip: When assembling the stand, use felt-pad floor protectors or a carpet in order to avoid damaging the coating of your parquet, linoleum, laminate or PVC floor.

  1. Set up the stand near a power wall outlet.
  2. Proceed according to the illustrations and only use the supplied screws. Using different screws could reduce the stability of the stand.ROADWORX-491963-Electric-Height-Adjustable-Stand-fig-3
  3. First attach the control panel (1) to the control panel holder (2). Use the four supplied slide screws (3) and the four round nuts (4) and hand-tighten them.ROADWORX-491963-Electric-Height-Adjustable-Stand-fig-4
  4. Position the tubes (6) and standing columns (7) as illustrated. Attach the mounted control panel holder with two Allen screws M6×25 (5) to the tube (6) and to the standing column (7) using the Allen key (20). Attach the tube and the standing column on the other side following the same procedure.
  5. Attach the controller holder (8) with four Allen screws M6×10 (9) to both tubes (6) using the Allen key (20).
  6. Attach two adhesive cable ties (10) in the illustrated position to properly install the cable of the control panel.
  7. Slide the controller (11) in the holder (8) and connect the cables of the standing columns (12) and the cable of the control panel (13) to the controller.
  8. Attach the feet (14) with four Allen screws each M6×10 (9) to the standing columns (7).
  9. Attach the two adhesive cable ties (10) in the illustrated position to properly install the power cable (15). Connect the power cable (15) to the controller (11).
    • Info: Ensure that the power cable is not installed too tight in the cable ties. The cable should be able to move when the height is adjusted.
  10. Turn the stand over and put it on its feet.
    • Attach the crossbars (16) at the desired position to both tubes (6) with two Allen screws M6×40 each (17) using the Allen key (20).
  11. Attach two adhesive foam pads (18) to each crossbar (16) in the desired positions.
  12. If required, attach the angle pieces (19) with one Allen screw M6×10 each (9) to the crossbars (16).
    • Alternatively, you can attach the devices to be mounted on the stand with a 3/8-inch cylinder head screw each (not included in the scope of delivery) using the Allen key (20).
    • Align the control panel (1) as desired and tighten the slide screws (3) and the round nuts (4).
  13. Align the adjustable feet to compensate uneven ground.

Operation

Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the unit. Keep the equipment packaging. To fully protect the product against vibration, dust and moisture during transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable for transport or storage, respectively.

Switching between centimetres/inches

  • Press and hold [S] and [3] simultaneously until the display switches.
    • The display shows the set height in the corresponding unit.

Setting and storing the height

  1. Hold down or to set a desired height from 61 cm (24 in) up to 126 cm (50 in). The motor starts to work and moves the stand in the desired position.
    • The display shows the set height (e.g. ‘090’ for the height of 90 cm).
  2. Release or to apply the setting.
    • The motor stops.
  3. Press [S] and then one of the buttons [1], [2], [3] or [4] to store the set height to one of the number buttons.
  4. Press one of the buttons [1], [2], [3] or [4] at any time to move the stand to the stored height.
    • The motor moves the stand automatically to the stored position.

Performing a reset

If set heights are not approached correctly after the device has been switched off and then on again, or if the two columns don’t move synchronously, you have to perform a reset.

  • Press and hold until the columns have moved to the lowest position (61 cm / 24 in) and keep pressing for another 5 seconds.
    • The display shows ‘RST’ . The stand has been reset. The set heights are not deleted.

Troubleshooting

In the following we list a few common problems that may occur during operation.
We give you some suggestions for easy troubleshooting:

Symptom Remedy
‘RST’ A reset was performed. Wait for the display to switch back.
‘ER1’‘ER9’ Make sure that the two cables of the standing columns and

the cable of the control panel are undamaged and correctly connected to the controller. If the error persists, the controller and the motors of the standing columns need to be checked by the service department.
‘E10’‘E12’
‘ERA’| Controller must be checked by the service department.
‘ERF’| Make sure that the mains cable and the cable of the control panel are undamaged and correctly connected. If the error persists, the controller and the motors of the standing columns need to be checked by the service department.
‘E21’| Perform a reset.
‘E22’| Reduce the load on the stand.
‘E31’| Controller must be checked by the service department.
‘E32’| Switch the device off and then on again. If the error persists, the controller needs to be checked by the service department.
‘E33’| Controller must be checked by the service department.
‘E34’| Make sure that the cable of the control panel is undamaged and correctly connected to the controller.
‘A01’‘A08’| Make sure that there are no obstacles in the path of the stand when it is moving.
‘A09’| Perform a reset.
‘HOT’| Wait for 10 minutes for the motor to cool down.
‘Hnd’| Make sure that the cable of the control panel is undamaged and correctly connected to the controller.

Protecting the environment

Disposal of the packing material

  • Environmentally friendly materials have been chosen for the packaging. These materials can be sent for normal recycling. Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of in the proper manner.
  • Do not dispose of these materials with your normal household waste, but make sure that they are collected for recycling. Please follow the instructions and markings on the packaging.
