INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-
Carefully pull house wires down out of the junction box so house wires are easily accessed to connect fixture wires.
-
If screw collar loop (W) is already attached to mounting bracket (A), proceed to Step
-
To assemble screw collar loop (W) to mounting bracket (A): Hold mounting bracket (A) so the head of the ground screw is pointing down towards the floor. Hold threaded pipe so two hex nuts already attached to threaded pipe (E) are pointing down towards the floor. From the side of the mounting bracket with the ground screw head, screw the short end of the threaded pipe (E) into the hole in the center of the mounting bracket (A) until hexnut on the threaded pipe (E) touches the mounting bracket. Thread hex nut (V) onto the end of the threaded pipe (E). Tighten hex nut (V) to secure threaded pipe (E) to mounting bracket (A). Thread screw collar loop (W) onto the end of threaded pipe pointing down towards the floor. Tighten the screw collar loop up against the hex nut on the threaded pipe (E).
Place mounting bracket (A) up against the junction box. Screw collar loop (E) should be pointing down towards the floor. Align each slot in mounting bracket (A) with each hole in the junction box. -
Thread one junction box screw (B) into each slot in the mounting bracket (A) and into holes in the junction box. Tighten junction box screws (B) to secure mounting bracket (A) to the junction box.
- CAUTION : Make sure house wires are still easily accessible. DO NOT pinch wires between the mounting bracket and ceiling.
-
Hold a 6-inch stem (N) so the loop is on the bottom. Carefully push fixture wires from top of the fixture body (O) up through the bottom of the 6-inch stem (N). Pull fixture wires taut.
-
Connect one locking link (G) to loop on top of the fixture body (O) and to loop on the bottom of 6 inch stem (N).
-
Determine the desired hanging height of the fixture. Choose the quantity of stems to achieve that height.
-
Carefully push fixture wires up through the remaining stems (M). Screw stems together.
-
Carefully push fixture wires up through loop (P). Thread loop (P) onto top of the last stem.
-
Slip fixture wires through hole in the threaded ring (F) and then the canopy (D).
-
Strip 3/4” of insulation from the ends of fixture wires.
-
Carefully push fixture wires up through a hole in the screw collar loop (W) attached to the mounting bracket (A) and out end of the threaded pipe inside the junction box. Carefully pull fixture wires so they are easily accessible to connect to house wires.
-
Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A). Do not completely remove the ground screw. Wrap house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire
to attach to fixture ground wire. Twist end of the fixture ground wire and end of the house ground wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference the chart below for correct wire connections.
Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to:
Bare Copper Wire or,
Bare Silver Wire or,
Green Insulated Wire.
- Twist end of house lead wire (black) and end of fixture lead wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto ends of wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Twist end of house neutral wire (white) and end of fixture neutral wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto ends of wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference chart to the right for correct wire connections.
- Wrap electrical tape (not included) around wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure wires are securely fastened into wire nuts.
- Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into junction box.
Connect Black Lead Supply (House) Wire to:| Connect White Neutral Supply (House) Wire to:
---|---
Black Wire or,| White Wire or,
Parallel Cord (Round and Smooth) or,| Parallel Cord (Square and Ridged) or,
No printed words on wire insulation or,| Printed words on wire insulation or,
Insulated Wire (other than green)
with Copper Conductor.
| Insulated Wire (other than green)
with Silver Conductor.
*When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used: The lead wire is round in shape or smooth.
The neutral wire is square in shape or ridged.
- Raise canopy (D) up to the ceiling. Pass hole in the canopy (D) over screw collar loop (W). Position canopy (D) up against the ceiling.
- Raise threaded ring (F) up to canopy (D). Screw threaded ring (F) onto screw collar loop (W). Tighten the threaded ring (F) to secure the fixture to the ceiling.
- Attach the second locking link (G) to loop (P) at the end of the stem and to the screw collar loop (W).
- Loosen thumbscrews (L) on arms of fixture body (O).
- Raise the shade up to the fixture. Pass hole in the top of shade (K) over the socket. Fit top of shade (K) in between arms on fixture body (O). Ensure lip at top of shade (K) is above thumbscrews (L) on arms of fixture body (O)
- Equally, tighten thumbscrews (L) to secure shade (K) in place. DO NOT over-tighten.
- Screw recommended bulbs (E12 candelabra bulb type, not included) into sockets. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture.
WARNING : DO NOT exceed maximum bulb wattage.
