Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell.

NEVER use inside a home or garage, EVEN IF doors and windows are open.

ONLY use OUTSIDE and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

Keep all objects at least 5 feet (1.5 m) from generator. Heat from the muffler and exhaust gas can ignite combustible materials.

SET UP

Open shipping carton.

Assembly > Unboxing

Note Icon Generators may inadvertently be transported upside down causing residual oil to flow into the combustion chamber causing smoke to emit from the exhaust. If smoke continues after 5-hour break-in period, contact Champion customer service at 1-877-338-0999.

Add oil.

Assembly > Add Engine Oil.
Recommended: 10W-30, up to 16.9 fl. oz. (500 ml) DO NOT overfill

Move the generator outdoors.

START UP

Add fuel – Gasoline or Propane (LPG)

**** NEVER START OR STOP THE GENERATOR WITH ELECTRICAL DEVICES CONNECTED OR TURNED ON!

Starting the Engine: Gasoline

Manual Start

  1.  Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the “ON” (|) position.
  2. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the gasoline “CHOKE” position.
  3. Pull the recoil to start the engine.
  4. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the gasoline “RUN” position.

Starting the Engine: Propane (LPG)

Manual Start : Propane (LPG)

  1. Open the propane tank valve.
  2. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the LPG “CHOKE” position.
  3. Pull the recoil 3-5 times to prime the engine.
  4. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the LPG “RUN” position.
  5. Pull the recoil to start the engine.
