Vtech IM0913 Lolibirds
INTRODUCTION
Meet your new best friend, LoLibirds! I love to go on adventures! Sit me on your shoulder by using the magnetic shoulder pad, and carry me with you wherever you go! I like to chitchat, talk to me and I will repeat what you say in a funny voice or sing back to you. Move me up, down & upside down to hear me make fun sounds and sing. I like to get dizzy!

WARNING
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable
tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy and
should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please save this Instruction Manual as it contains important
information.
NOTE: This toy bird has reduced volume to adhere to safety regulations
for close-to-the-ear toys.
Unlock the Packaging Locks
- Turn the packaging lock anticlockwise several times.
- Pull out and discard the packaging lock.
GETTING STARTED
The batteries included are for demo purposes only. Please replace the low- capacity Try Me batteries with new batteries for the best performance. Slide the Off/Shoulder Mode/Cuddle Mode Switch to the Shoulder Mode or Cuddle Mode position to start.
Battery Removal and Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
- If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
- Install 2 new AAA (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it.
WARNING
Adult assembly is required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of
reach of children.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
- Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from the toy before charging.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Disposal of batteries and product
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or their
respective packaging, indicate they must not be disposed of in domestic waste
as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human
health.
The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery
contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead
(Pb) set out in the Batteries and Accumulators Regulation. The solid bar
indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August 2005.
Please dispose of your product and batteries responsibly.
In the UK, give this toy a second life by disposing of it at a small
electrical collection point* so all of its materials can be recycled.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Off/Shoulder Mode/Cuddle Mode Switch To turn the unit ON, slide the Off/ Shoulder Mode/Cuddle Mode Switch to the Shoulder Mode or Cuddle Mode position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the Off/Shoulder Mode/Cuddle Mode
Switch to the OFF position. -
Automatic Shut-Off To preserve battery life, this toy will automatically power down after several seconds without input. The unit can be turned ON again by pressing any button.
NOTE : If the unit powers down while playing, please install a new set of batteries.
ACTIVITIES
Shoulder Mode Play
Slide the mode switch to Shoulder Mode. Place the magnetic shoulder pad on
your shoulder under your t-shirt. Then, place your LoLibirds over your t-shirt
above the magnetic shoulder pad. The magnetic shoulder pad will keep your
LoLibirds perched on your shoulder. Press the Record Button or the Music
Button to play with your LoLibirds (see #3 and #4 below).
Cuddle Mode Play
Slide the mode switch to Cuddle Mode. Connect the magnetic shoulder pad to the
bottom of your LoLibirds for safekeeping. Cuddle with your LoLibirds or place
your LoLibirds on a flat surface to play. Turn your LoLibirds upside down or
shake your LoLibirds for fun reactions. Press the Record Button or the Music
Button to play with your LoLibirds (see #3 and #4 below).
Record and Playback
There are two ways to record and change your voice. LoLibirds can record and
playback your voice in a silly way or translate your voice into bird tweets.
Silly Voice: Press the Record Button once. Wait for your LoLibirds’ eyes
to turn blue and the recording music to complete. Then, talk, sing or make
funny sounds. Your LoLibirds will then play back your recording in a silly
way.
Bird Tweets: Press the Record Button two times quickly. Wait for your
LoLibirds’ eyes to turn blue and the recording music to complete. Then, talk,
sing or make funny sounds. Your LoLibirds will translate your recording into
bird tweets.
LoLibirds can record up to 10 seconds. If you finish your recording before 10
seconds, press the Record Button again to stop the recording and hear your
silly playback.
Fun Sounds and Music
Press the Music Button on your LoLibirds’ wing to hear delightful birdy music
and fun bird sound effects.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
- Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Turn the unit Off.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again.
- If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries. If the problem persists, please contact our Consumer Services The department and a service representative will be happy to help you.
Environmental Phenomena
The unit may malfunction if subjected to radio-frequency interference. It should revert to normal operation when the interference stops. If not, it may become necessary to turn the power Off and back On or remove and reinstall the batteries. In the unlikely event of an electrostatic discharge, the unit may malfunction and lose memory, requiring the user to reset the device by removing and reinstalling the batteries.
