INTRODUCTION
Thank you for buying our product. Please read through these operating instructions, so you will know how to operate your equipment properly. After you finished reading the instructions manual, put it away in a safe place for future reference. This sensor supports up to 8 channels (one unit for one channel, optional sensors sold separately). GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
- Remove the battery door on the back of the sensor by sliding down the battery door.
- Insert 2 x AA batteries [not included] observing polarity [“+” and “” marks].
- Set the Channel number of the sensor and the Temperature units.
- Close the battery door.
Note: Before closing the battery door, find the dip switches above the battery compartment and set the temperature units and channel number.
TEMPERATURE UNITS
To change the transmitter display units of temperature measure (°F vs. °C),
change Dip Switch 4.
SENSOR PLACEMENT
The best mounting location for the sensor is in a location that never receives
direct sunlight, not even through windows. Also, do not install in a location
where a nearby radiant heat source (radiator, heaters, etc.) will affect it.
Direct sunlight and radiant heat sources will result in inaccurate temperature
readings. The sensor is not weatherproof, you should mount the unit under
cover (eve or awning or similar).
Make sure the sensor is mounted vertically and not lying down on a flat
surface. This will insure optimum reception. Wireless signals are impacted by
distance, interference (other weather stations, wireless phones, wireless
routers, TVs and computer monitors), and transmission barriers, such as walls.
To mount or hang the sensor on a wall or wood beam. Use a screw or nail to
affix the sensor to the wall or hang the remote sensor using a string.
PAIR WITH ME 3900
If you want to view the multi-channel sensor data on your mobile application, you need to pair this sensor with ME 3900 (Wi-Fi Gateway). You need to have the ME 3900 connected to the wi-fi network, then just put batteries in the sensor and it will automatically pair with the ME 3900 if it is within range. Whether the sensor is paired with the station can only be known in the WS View Plus application or on the weather server wwww. ecowitt.net where the station is registered. After a while, the data from the sensor will appear there.
Note: The ME 3900 does not show any sensor data on the display. Data from the sensor can only be viewed in the WS View Plus application and on the weather server wwww.ecowitt.net, other weather servers do not display it.
