H-GTW equipment for Fire Alarm Control Panel integration
ID3000 / ID50 / ID60 / AM8200 in Modbus systems
Version 2.25 (07/12/2022)

Introduction

The H-GTW enables the integration of Notifier fire alarm control panels into supervisory/control systems integrating Modbus master connectivity, using the gateway of Notifier ID3000 / ID50 / ID60 / AM8200 fire alarm control panels from supervisory/control systems with Modbus master connectivity. Gateway works from the Modbus system’s point of view, as a Modbus slave device, responding to data queries from the Modbus master, and from the Notifier system’s point of view, as a serial device connected to its RS232 port, serving data received from the Notifier to the Modbus side.
The H-GTW-1 model allows the integration of a control panel individually ID50 or 60, ID-3000 or AM8200 The H-GTW-N model allows integration to any of the individual control units indicated above, but also to network control units, according to the following list: 8 ID3000 control units connected in the ID2Net network or it allows the integration of up to 8 AM8200 control units with a “Special” map” and up to 4 control units with a “Normal” map.

Note: In the “Special” map, the following installation/configuration must be given for it to be a correct communication. They must arrange the addressing of the equipment in each loop as follows:

For Detectors

  • 159 detectors
    For Modules

  • In the loop address from 1 to 15, only devices with ≤ 10 sub-addresses can be installed.

  • In the loop direction from 16 to 40 ≤ 3 sub-addresses

  • In the loop address from 41 to 159 ≤ 2 sub-addresses

For example: There cannot be a module of 10 sub-addresses at loop address 25

Operating modes

Functional description
The scope of H-GTW is to associate the states of the PCI Notifier system elements with the address values of the ModBus registers, using a fixed address mapping for Sensors, Modules and Events, depending on the control panel model to which the equipment is connected.
The commissioning process of the H-GTW requires only the connection to the device, the configuration of the communication speeds and the model of the control panel connected, using the HnyExpress application described at the end of this manual.
H-GTW allows you to manage 1 ID50/60 control panel, up to 8 networked ID3000 control panels or 4 complete AM8200 control panels, but there is also a ‘special’ map that allows you to represent more AM8200 control panels.

Note: For the ‘special’ method, please consult our technical support service.
In network mode, the map generated for each control panel retains the addresses of the main map, but each control panel will appear as a different Modbus address, i.e. the Modbus address ‘n’ will contain the data of control panel ‘n’.
Once configured, the equipment maintains constant communication with the control center to obtain the main statuses. When an event is received, it is analyzed, and different addresses are activated on the map depending on the type of event.

Two-way communication.

Two-way communication is always established between the device and a software for commissioning and monitoring the equipment.

HnyExpress application

\(4\)

HnyExpress application
To establish communication with the gateway from the HnyExpress application, proceed as follows:

Setup USB

  • It is necessary to configure the drivers, for this go to /Program Files (x86)/HnyExpress/drivers
  • Install the 64 or 32 bit driver according to your machine, run the installable in administrator mode
  • Once the drivers are loaded, it will be necessary to run HNYEXPRESS in administrator mode whenever we want to use this type of connection, we recommend leaving the icon permanently in Administrator mode
  • Connect a micro-USB cable to the equipment on the right side, once connected the equipment will turn on, no power supply will be necessary to parameterize the equipment

Setup TCP-IP

  • Set a fixed IP on the computer in the range 192.168.1.x in TCP-IP connection mode.

  • Power the equipment in the indicated ranges (12Vdc-24Vdc).

  • If the equipment is brand new or if we do not know its IP address, we must use a crossover cable and connect it directly to the PC (even with a switch that is not connected to the router); 15 seconds after the equipment has started up, it will self-configure with the IP: 192.168.1.234 and will listen on port 61534, so that a two-way connection can be established with it.
Once the connection method has been established, follow these steps to configure the gateway:

  • from the HnyExpress application, click on the blue ribbon button (the one in the middle).

  • Select the IP of the equipment to be connected, by default 192.168.1.234 Port 61534, the connection will be established, the progress bar below will inform about the connection status; once the connection is established, the equipment configuration will be received automatically.

  • (Rx button), the changed data will be sent according to the requirements of the installation.

  • (Tx button), data can be retrieved from the gateway.

  • To stop communication with the device by pressing the red close button, so that changes are permanently saved.

  • In the ‘RS232 speed’ window, select the same speed as configured in the control panel. Follow the table below
    Fire Alarm Control Panel| ID50/60| ID3000| AM8200
    ---|---|---|---
    Transmission speed| 9600 (Half Duplex)| 4800 (Half Duplex)| 38400

    • Note: The gateway with ID3000 does not work via RS232 communication on the motherboard.
  • “RS485 speed” window not currently used.

  • Under ‘IP Address’ change the desired address.

  • Under ‘Gateway address’, change the address as required.

  • Under ‘Netmask’, change the desired address.

  • Under “Choose model” TPP11 for ID50/60 or ID3000, TPP13 Normal for AM8200 all addresses or TPP13 Special for AM8200 with fixed addresses.

  • ‘Network mode’: activate this checkbox if you intend to communicate vith a network of panels. For single plane this option must be deactivated.

  • Supervision via Cloud: activating this option allows the gateway configuration to be supervised via a Cloud connection (the connection must be free, without port blocking, firewalls, etc.).

  • Using the “Modbus addresses Base 1” checkbox, you can select whether the Modbus transmission is in Base 0 or Base 1. For this selection, please consult the integrator.

Panel selection
In the Panels tab, it is possible to address the different panel numbers that are part of the networked system; in the example, we have defined a structure consisting of 2 networked panels, panel 01 and panel 02.
For individual panels, without ‘Network Mode’, no selections are allowed.
