Product Information

The product consists of a coffee machine with four tanks: milk tank, water tank, cleaning tank, and waste water container. The milk tank is used to store milk, the water tank is used to store water, the cleaning tank is used for daily cleaning of the machine, and the waste water container collects waste water. The machine also has a descaling feature that requires two processes: coffee module and milk module descaling. The duration between two descaling requests is calculated based on the use of a filter, water hardness level, and quantity of beverages prepared.

Product Usage Instructions

Distinguishing Between Tanks

To distinguish between the different tanks:

• The milk tank is used to store milk and has a max and min level.
• The water tank is used to store water.
• The cleaning tank is used for daily cleaning of the machine.
• The waste water container collects waste water.

Daily Milk Machine Cleaning Procedure

It is recommended to perform daily cleaning of the milk module. To do so:

• Ensure milk module cleaning is performed every day.
• The cleaning alert will appear on the welcome screen 24 hours after the first milk recipe preparation following the previous ] cleaning cycle.
• Milk recipes will only be available approximately 15 minutes after the cleaning process.
• To speed up the daily cleaning process, remove the milk tank from the fridge, insert a tablet in the cleaning tank and cleaning tank in the fridge, and launch the cleaning procedure with the red icon on the welcome screen (or by selecting in maintenance menu).
• The machine will request two consecutive cleaning cycles if it is not performed within the 48 hours following the appearance of the red cleaning icon.
• To speed up the cooling down process in order to make milk recipes, fill the water tank up to the maximum level (3 litres).

Descaling Procedure

The descaling procedure requires two processes: coffee module and milk module descaling. To perform the descaling procedure:

• Launch the descaling procedure by pressing and follow instructions on screen.
• For coffee descaling, add 2 bags of Nespresso liquid descaler to the cleaning tank and fill the water tank to the mark.
• For milk descaling, add 4 bags of Nespresso liquid descaler to the cleaning tank and fill the water tank to the mark.
• After coffee descaling process, all recipes are immediately available. After milk descaling process, milk recipes are not available immediately. To reduce the waiting time, fill the water tank up to the maximum level (3 litres).
• If the machine is equipped with a water filter, always remove it before descaling.

Filter Change & Water Hardness Setup Procedure

Instructions for filter change and water hardness setup are not provided in the user manual.

MILK TANK

• White lid
• Transparent tank

TIPS:  Keep milk tank in machine fridge at all time outside cleaning cycles.

CLEANING TANK

• Black lid
• Black & transparent tank
• Cleaning tablet insertion slot in top left corner of the lid

DAILY MILK MACHINE CLEANING

PROCEDURE AND TIPS

Following the below tips will take approximately 35 minutes cleaning ~20 minutes + machine cool down ~15 minutes

Ensure milk module cleaning is performed every day
Cleaning alert will appear on welcome screen 24h after the first milk recipe preparation following previous cleaning cycle.

TIPS: Perform cleaning every evening.

Milk recipes will only be available ~15 minutes after the cleaning process.

TIP 1 How to speed up the daily cleaning process

Note: The machine will request 2 consecutive cleaning cycles if it is not performed within the 48h following the appearance of the red cleaning icon.

TIP 2: Confirm all steps to validate the process.
Once the machine has ended the cleaning cycle (~20 minutes) perform the actions displayed on screen and confirm all steps

TIP 3: How to speed up the cooling down process in order to make milk recipes
Once the cleaning procedure is complete, you can reduce the machines’ cooling down process to ~15 minutes by:

Your machine calculates the duration between two descaling requests based on:

• the use of a filter
• the water hardness level
• the quantity of beverages prepared

TIPS: In case both «clean» and «descale» symbols appear at the same time, proceed to cleaning procedure first.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN THE RED DESCALING ICON APPEARS?
Once the red «descale» icon is displayed, you must perform the required descaling procedure (i.e coffee or milk module) within 30 days.

THE FIRST 15 DAYS (from when descaling message appears)

Number of remaining days until next process required, purely informative.

DAYS 15 TO 0 (urgent – blinking)

After 30 days, if no action taken, beverages / milk recipes will be disabled.

PROCESSES: COFFEE MODULE & MILK MODULE

Note: You will be required to come back to the machine and perform some actions several times during the descaling process.

• Launch the descaling procedure by pressing and follow instructions on screen
  • Add descaling solution
  • Add descaling solution
  • Fill the water tank to the mark
  • Fill the water tank to the mark
• Replace the water tank and launch the process. Follow instructions on screen and perform all steps to validate the process.
• After COFFEE DESCALING process, all recipes are immediately available. After MILK DESCALING process, milk recipes are not available immediatly. To reduce the waiting time:

Your machine calculates the duration prior to changing the filter based on:

• the water hardness level
• the quantity of beverages prepared

TIPS: Place the waste water container below the outlet prior to launching the filter change procedure. The machine will automatically perform a rinsing cycle of approximately 0.5 litres.

WATER HARDNESS SETUP

Important note: You can verify at all times that the appropriate water hardness level is set on the machine.

Go into «setup menu» Enter «set water hardness» and follow the instructions on screen.
Test your water hardness and select the result

FILTER CHANGE

Tap on the red filter symbol and follow the instructions on screen Complete all steps to validate the procedure Remove the old filter from the water tank.Fill a container with fresh drinking water. Immerse the new water filter and squeeze it several times until all air bubbles have been removed. Insert new filter into water tank.
