After downloading the firmware, unzip the file. Inside the folder, you will find a .bin file. Rename this file to ‘factory_up_boot’.

Step 3: Prepare MicroSD Card
Insert a microSD card into your computer and create a folder named ‘Tapo Firmware’ (or any desired name). Copy and paste the ‘factory_up_boot.bin’ file into this folder.

Step 4: Insert MicroSD Card

Step 7: Remove MicroSD Card
After a few seconds, power off the camera again. Remove the microSD card from the camera.

Step 8: Optional Formatting
If you plan to use the microSD card for other purposes later, it is recommended to format it on your computer. Repeat Step 1 to format the microSD card and ensure that the ‘factory_up_boot.bin’ file is deleted. If it is still present, delete it manually.

Step 9: Reinsert MicroSD Card
Insert the microSD card back into the camera’s microSD card slot. Power off and then power on the camera again.

Step 10: Format MicroSD Card via Tapo APP
