Safety

The PowAirBox coupling is designed to provide a safe and separable connection between a stationary supply network and a PowAirBox. It is primarily used to feed current and compressed air to emergency vehicles. To ensure safe installation and usage, please observe the following safety instructions:

1. DANGER! Electric shock due to short circuit: Before operating, make sure there are no open or damaged cables. Replace defective parts or damaged cables immediately.
2. WARNING! Risk of burns due to cable fire: Only use the device within the specified voltage limits (250 V/16 A).
3. NOTE! Reverse polarity can damage the unit: Before operating, make sure that all cables are connected correctly.

Installation

• Before installing the PowAirBox coupling, please take note of the following important points:
  • Device defect due to faulty ejection: A jammed or blocked coupling can lead to incomplete automatic ejection, resulting in the combination line being torn off when the vehicle is driven off and causing damage to the coupling and the PowAirBox.
  • To aoid this, follow these guidelines:
  1. When plugging in, make sure that the combination line hangs loosely and is not taut.
  2. Do not use cable winders or similar devices for the combination line.
  3. Do not hang any objects or items of clothing on the coupling or combination line.
  4. Make sure that there is always enough space to eject the coupling.
• To install the PowAirBox coupling, please follow these steps:
  • NOTE! The auxiliary contacts of the coupling are bridged at the factory in order to establish a start locking mechanism.
  • Connect the cables of the PowAirBox combination line to the power distribution of the vehicle depot (refer to Pin Assignment for wire identification).
  • Connect the compressed air line of the PowAirBox combination line to the compressed air distribution of the vehicle depot.

To install the coupling, proceed as follows:
