Read these instructions and the
accompanying safety information
carefully before starting up the
device and starting work with the device.
Keep these instructions in a place that is accessible to all
users.

Safety information

This appliance can be used by
children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with
the appliance.

Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children without
supervision.

WARNING Electrical shock
If the device is faulty, active electrical conductors may be
bare or the PE conductor may not be functional.

  • Repairs must always be referred to a Weller-trained specialist.
  • If the electrical tool‘s power supply cord is damaged, it must
be replaced with a specially prefabricated power supply cord
available through the customer service organization.

WARNING Danger of injury
The device or parts of the device may fall off during
transportation.

WARNING
Danger of asphyxiation
Danger of poisoning
Improper installation can result in above-normal
workplace concentrations

  • Measure the workplace concentration upon completion of
    installation work
Inappropriate maintenance cycles for gas media may
    result in above-normal workplace concentrations

  • Specify maintenance cycle
Above-normal contamination levels in the ambient air
during cleaning work on the pipe system/extraction area

  • If suction capacity is impaired by build-up within the pipe
    system, replace the contaminated parts.
A saturated activated carbon filter will not be able to
capture harmful substances. The harmful substances will
be released back into the environment unfiltered.
Observe the recommended filter replacement intervals.
High concentrations of harmful gases can lead to
overheating of the activated carbon and possibly trigger
    spontaneous combustion of the filter.

  • Run the unit on clean air for several minutes before
    switching off.

Specified Conditions Of Use

This filtration system is suitable for the extraction and
filtration of particles and gases, depending on the filter
medium used.

The unit is designed for extracting fumes directly from
the soldering gun and is not suitable for use as a surface
extraction unit. Not suitable for continuous operation.
This device may only be used at room temperature and
indoors.

WARNING
Danger of asphyxiation
Danger of poisoning
Improper use may result in respiratory problems,
asphyxiation, poisoning or cancer

  • Particles and gases which are unsuitable for the filter
medium in use may not be extracted.

  • Liquids and flammable gases may not be extracted

  • Never use the device without a filter or with a full filter.

  • Never use the device without the fan cover The housing
    must be sealed.

  • Do not use dischargeable tubes and hoses

  • Do not use the device without the correct leakproof hosing
    (symmetrical, correctly dimensioned)

  • Never use the device with the ventilation slots covered or
    closed

WARNING Fire and explosion hazard!
The unit is not permitted to be used for the extraction of
inflammable gases.
The unit must not be exposed to temperatures above
50°C, naked flame or condensed solvents.
The organisation operating the unit is responsible for the
observance of the legal limits for noxious substances at
the place of work.
The filtration system may only be put into operation if it is
in perfect working order.

Intended use of the soldering station/ disordering station
also includes the requirement that you

  • adhere to these instructions,
  • observe all other accompanying documents,
  • comply with national accident prevention guidelines
applicable at the place of use.

The manufacturer will not be liable for unauthorized
modifications to the device.

Operation Notice

The unit may emit dust from the main filter after
transportation. Make sure that the unit is put into service in a
suitable room.

CAUTION! A high noxious gas concentration will cause
the activated charcoal to heat up. To avoid overheating, the
unit should be run without noxious gases for several minutes
before switching off.

Put the tool into operation as described in the chapter
„Placing into operation“.
Please adhere to the operating instructions of the connected
devices.

Check to see if the mains voltage matches the ratings on the
nameplate.

Make sure the machine is switched off before plugging in.
Optimal gas filtration is achieved as follows:

  • Temperature of process air in gas filter < 38 °C

  • Relative humidity < 60 %

  • Gas molecules > 30 g/mol (better filtration results are
    achieved with larger molecules)

  • Boiling point of the gas molecules > 0 °C
Use a broadband gas filter (without a suspended matter
filter) for the extraction of adhesive vapours.

Care and maintenance

WARNING
Before doing any work on the machine, pull the plug out
of the socket.
The operator must check that the connector is still removed
at every station to which they have access.

The unit must not be altered or modified in any way!
Repairs must always be referred to a Weller-trained
specialist.

Use original replacement parts only.

Filter change

The suspended matter filter and the
broadband gas filter are complementary
to one another and can be replaced
together as a compact filter. The fine
dust filter (filter mat) is the preliminary
stage of the compact filter and therefore
must be replaced more frequently.
It is strongly recommended that the
compact filter be replaced after no more
than 10 fine dust filter changes.

To ensure that the filtration system functions properly, the
compact filter must be replaced as follows:

  • at least once a year or

  • if the maximum allowable workplace concentration is
    exceeded or

  • as per maintenance schedule

Contaminated filters must be treated as special waste. Wear
suitable protective gear.

Notice
Different fluxes and flux constituents and the amount of and
size of dust particles in the extracted air will significantly
effect the filters working life.Submicron particles in the
extracted air increase when soldering or welding to varnish
insulated wire.

Cleaning

To ensure that the device works as correctly, the vacuum
tube and the extraction hose of the FE soldering iron must be
cleaned on a regular basis. If heavily soiled, the extraction
tube can be placed in a sealed, gastight container and
soaked in cleaning alcohol (ethanol) until the flux residues
have dissolved.

WARNING Legal safety regulations on the handling of
cleaning products must be observed when using such products.
The cleaning product should be treated as hazardous
waste.

Warranty

Claims by the buyer for physical defects are time-barred
after a period of one year from delivery to the buyer. This
does not apply to claims by the buyer for indemnification in
accordance with §§ 478, 479 BGB (German Federal Law
Gazette).
We shall only be liable for claims arising from a warranty
furnished by us if the quality or durability warranty has
been furnished by use in writing and using the term
„Warranty“.
The warranty shall be void if damage is due to improper
use and if the device has been tampered with by
unauthorised persons.
Subject to technical alterations and amendments.
