Troubleshoot Guide Marmite Poteriid XL

The Poteriid XL is suitable for wirelessly extending the signal from your infrared remote control. It is NOT possible to send an audio/video signal (e.g. HDMI.

The maximum distance that can be bridged in the open field (free line of sight) is 150 m. Indoors, the range depends on any obstacles and their material (walls and ceilings). Typical range is between 10 and 20 meters measured in a straight line.

If your device cannot be operated via the Poteriid XL, please note the following:

  • Bang&Olufsen (B&O) devices cannot be operated.
  • Make sure that the IR receiver and IR transmitter are not swapped. The transmitter and receiver have different texts on the front: the IR receiver has “IR Receiver” on the front, the IR transmitter has “IR Transmitter” on it.
  • The IR receiver is the part you aim at with the remote control. The IR transmitter should be placed in front of the device to be controlled. To do this, make sure that the Powermid IR transmitter can have direct contact with the infrared receiver of your device in a straight line.
  • Place the transmitter and/or receiver a little further (eg 20 cm). This can ensure that the angle at which signals hit a wall, for example, is slightly more favorable, which increases the range.
  • Make sure that the transmitter and receiver are not on top of or in close proximity (< 10 cm) to another device (e.g. a decoder or a set-top box) due to EMC interference
  • Make sure the IR receiver (at which you point the remote control) is not exposed to direct sunlight, fluorescent lights or the stray field of your TV. This can lead to infrared signals being detected poorly or not at all. If the red LED on the IR receiver lights up continuously, this is a sign that interference signals are being received. The red LED should only light up when a command is received from your remote control.
