Product Usage Instructions

Connecting the Microphone

  1. If you are using a headset microphone, connect it to the Microphone Input using the pink plug on the Y-adapter.
  2. Do not use a TRRS plug as it will not work.

Connecting Headphones

  1. If you are using headphones with a headset microphone, plug the green plug from the Y-adapter into the Headphone Output.
  2. You may also need to use the included 1/4 to 1/8 adapter.
  3. Do not use a TRRS plug as it will not work.

Connecting to Powered Monitors

  1. Plug the Preamp Output into your powered monitors or a power amp using a 1/8 TRS to dual RCA cable.

Connecting to a Smart TV or Device with Optical Output

  1. Connect the Optical Input to a smart TV or other device with an optical output.
  2. Some smart TVs may need to be set to Stereo or Two-Channel PCM for this to work.

Powering the Device

  1. Connect the USB Power Input to the supplied 2.1A wall wart using one of the provided USB cables.
  2. The device requires power to be on for your computer to recognize it.

Operating the Device

  • No drivers are needed for Windows 10/11, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux distros supporting UAC2.
  • For game consoles, select Schiit Hel+ for both the headphone/speaker out and microphone input.
  • For PCs and Macs, select Schiit Hel+ in Control Panel/Sound Devices (PC) or in System Prefs/Sound (Mac) for both audio output and mic input.
  • On some devices, the music player software may also need to be set to Schiit Hel+ separately, and some games may need to be set NOT to take over the mic level.

WELCOME TO HEL+

  1. Volume Knob. Turn up til you smile, but not until your ears bleed.
  2. Microphone Level. If you’re using a mic, turn it up til people can hear you, but not until you sound like you have a 4-pack-a-day cigarette habit.
  3. Microphone Input. If you’re using a headset microphone, connect it using the pink plug on the Y-adapter that is usually included with your headphones. Do not use a TRRS plug; it will not work.
  4. Input Select. Toggle up to hear the USB input, and down to hear the optical input.
  5. Gain Select. Up louder, down quieter. The top is high gain, the middle is low gain, and the bottom is negative gain.
  6. Headphone Output. Plug your headphones in here. If you are using headphones with a headset microphone, plug the green plug from the Y-adapter that is usually included with your headphones.   7. Preamp Output. Plug this into your powered monitors (or a power amp) using a 1/8” TRS to dual RCA cable.
  8. Optical Input. Connect to a smart TV or another device with an optical output. Some smart TVs will need to be set to “Stereo” or “Two-Channel PCM” for this to work.
  9. USB Power Input. Hel+ NEEDS a power input from the supplied 2.1A wall-wart. Connect this with one of the provided USB cables.
  10. USB Data Input. Connect this to your USB source using the provided cable, or with another USB 2.0-rated, high-quality USB cable.
  11. Power Switch. Up is on, down is off. It needs to be on for your computer to see Hel+.

HEL+ OPERATION

3-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Schiit Audio warrants to the original purchaser that this product shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for three (3) years from the date of purchase, and will provide rapid exchange in the case of failure for (1) year after the date of purchase. If a defect covered by this warranty occurs during this period, Schiit Audio will repair the defective product, free of charge. The date of purchase will be based on order records or customer receipts.

If you believe you need warranty service, contact us first. Schiit Audio products sent back to us without a Return Authorization (RA) will be returned to the sender without repair. To contact us and obtain an RA, email info@schiit.com.

Warranty Limitations. This warranty shall not apply if a product: (a) is modified or tampered with; (b) is damaged by negligence, accident, unreasonably use, or other causes unrelated to defective materials or workmanship, or (c) has had the serial number altered or removed.

  • Any implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby limited in duration to the warranty period.
  • In no event shall Schiit Audio be liable for consequential or incidental damages resulting from the breach of any implied or expressed warranties.
  • Some states do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
  • You may also have other rights which vary from state to state or province to province.
