Parts Included

  • Danger : Move generator outdoors.
  • Warning : Keep all objects at least 5 feet (1.5 m) from the generator to prevent ignition of combustible materials.

Set Up

  1. Check for residual oil in the combustion chamber. If smoke continues after the 5-hour break-in period, contact Champion customer service.
  2. Add engine oil using 10W-30 oil, up to 16.9 fl. oz (500 ml). Do not overfill.
  3. Move the generator outdoors. Only use outside and far away from windows, doors, and vents.
  4. Add fuel (Gasoline or Propane) to the generator.
  5. For gasoline operation, do not use E15 or E85 fuel.

Starting the Engine: Gasoline

Manual Start

  1. Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the ON (|) position.
  2. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the gasoline CHOKE position.
  3. Pull the recoil to start the engine.
  4. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the gasoline RUN position.

Starting the Engine: Propane (LPG)

Manual Start

  1. Open the propane tank valve.
  2. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the LPG CHOKE position.
  3. Pull the recoil 1-3 times to prime the engine.
  4. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the LPG RUN position.
  5. Pull the recoil to start the engine.

  • Q: What should I do if there is smoke coming from the exhaust after the break-in period?
    A: If smoke continues after the 5-hour break-in period, contact Champion customer service at 1-877-338-0999.

  • Q: Can I overfill the engine oil?
    A: No, do not overfill the engine oil. Use up to 16.9 fl. oz (500 ml) of 10W-30 oil.

  • Q: Can I use E15 or E85 fuel for gasoline operation?
    A: No, do not use E15 or E85 fuel for gasoline operation.

MOVE GENERATOR OUTDOORS

  • Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell.

NOTICE
Keep all objects at least 5 feet (1.5 m) from generator. Heat from the muffler and exhaust gas can ignite combustible materials.

SETUP

Open shipping carton. ˜ Assembly > Unboxing

Generators may inadvertently be transported upside down causing residual oil to flow into the combustion chamber causing smoke to emit from the exhaust. If smoke continues after 5-hour break-in period, contact Champion customer service at 1-877-338-0999.

Add oil. ˜ Assembly > Add Engine Oil.
Recommended: 10W-30, up to 16.9 fl. oz. (500 ml) DO NOT overfill.

Move the generator outdoors.

Add fuel – Gasoline or Propane (LPG) Assembly > Add Fuel

FOR GASOLINE OPERATION: DO NOT USE E15 OR E85

DO NOT plug in any electrical devices.

  • NEVER START OR STOP THE GENERATOR WITH ELECTRICAL DEVICES CONNECTED OR TURNED ON!

Manual Start
