Product Usage Instructions
Getting Started
- Switch your amplifier on using the Power Switch.
Setting Up
Note: The LED light will fade as the batteries lose power.
- Adjust the ECHO LEVEL dial to change the volume of the delay effect.
- Adjust the ECHO TIME dial to change the tempo of the delay effect.
- Press the SHAPE switch to choose between two EQ shapes. The ‘Out’ position provides a flat EQ response, while the ‘In’ position offers a mid-cut with a low and high boost for an alternative sound.
Get Connected
Connect your FLY 3 Acoustic to various devices using the following options:
- Desktop or Laptop computer
- Tablet
- Phone
- MP3 Line In & LINE OUT for connecting to a PA system
- Headphones
- FLY 3 Acoustic front panel for connecting to FLY 103 Acoustic (see ‘MAKE YOUR SET-UP STEREO’)
Battery Information
- We recommend using rechargeable (NiMH) or Alkaline batteries in your FLY 3 Acoustic for optimal performance while on the go. The amplifier requires 6 x AA batteries (not included).
Power Supply
- When using the FLY 3 Acoustic indoors, it is advised to use the Blackstar-approved power supply unit (FLY PSU) to power the amplifier. The power supply is sold separately.
Connect to FLY 103
- If you want to enhance your sound experience, you can connect your FLY 3 Acoustic to the FLY 103 Acoustic speaker cabinet (sold separately).

- Your FLY 3 Acoustic is a compact mini amp with a big TONE. Combining two preset acoustic EQ shapes and a built-in ECHO. It’s the perfect take-anywhere acoustic amp.
GETTING STARTED

- Set your Volume, Bass and Treble using each control knob.
- CHOOSE YOUR ShApe
- Press this switch to choose between two EQ shapes. ‘Out’ position; a flat EQ response. ‘In’ position; a mid-cut with a low and high boost for an alternative sound.

- The ECHO LEVEL dial changes the volume of the delay effect.

- The ECHO TIME dial changes the tempo of the delay effect.

MP3 Line In & LINE OUT
- Play audio from your phone, MP3 player, tablet or laptop through the FLY 3 Acoustic using an AUX cable (sold separately) – you can also use a 3.5mm cable to connect the line out to a PA for live performances or recording.

- Do not open the equipment case. There are no user serviceable parts in this equipment. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Condensation can form on the inside of an amplifier if it is moved from a cold environment to a warmer location. Before switching the unit on, it is recommended that the unit be allowed to reach room temperature.
- Unauthorised modification of this equipment is expressly forbidden by Blackstar Amplification Ltd.
- Never push objects of any kind into ventilation slots on the equipment casing.
- Do not expose this apparatus to rain, liquids or moisture of any type.
- Do not place this product on an unstable trolley, stand or table. The product may fall, causing serious damage to the product or to persons!
Do not cover or block ventilation slots or openings.
- This product should not be placed near a source of heat such as a stove, radiator, or another heat producing amplifier.
- Use only an approved Blackstar power supply and mains cable (Blackstar PSU-1). Unplug the Blackstar power supply and mains cable from the mains supply when not in use.
- Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or similar. They must be disposed of according to local environmental guidelines.
- If the product does not operate normally when the operating instructions are followed, then refer the product to a qualified service engineer.
- The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has specified the following permissible noise level exposures:
