USER MANUAL KETTLE

Notes on safe use of JOYHILL household appliances
Precautions for power cord plug access

Heed

Be sure to hold the power plug before pulling it out of the socket.

If the power cord is pulled directly, it may cause the core wire in the wire to break or the plug connection part to fall off, which may lead to the danger of power failure or short circuit overheating.
Do not plug or unplug the power cord with wet hands.

Plugging and unplugging the power plug  directly with wet hands is likely to causeelectric shock. If your feet are wet, it is easier to get electric shock. Please be careful to wipe the moisture with a towel in advance.
Do not bundle the power cord.

Bundling the power cord into a bundle may cause poor heat dissipation, which may lead to the danger of overheating and burning. Please be sure to extend the power cord fully before using it.
When using electrical appliances, if the power cord or plug is hot or emits peculiar smell, please immediately unplug the plug and turn off the power.

Please stop using it immediately to avoid the risk of short-circuit burning, and immediately seek maintenance from Chi Mei original factory.
Do not press, clamp, trample, bend or nail the power cord.

Clamping, bending, etc … of the power cord will cause the risk of internal core wire breakage and short circuit burning.
Please observe the rated power capacity . 4 limit, and do not use multiple adapters or extension wires.

Too many electrical appliances are used at  the same time, and the current is too high to exceed the load, which may lead to thedanger of electrical fire.
Please make sure that the power plug is firmly inserted to the bottom and does not shake.

Please aim the power plug at the socket to ensure that it is inserted to the bottom to avoid the danger of overheating and melting due to poor contact.
Do not use damaged power cord and socket with deformed or loose plug blade.

If the power cord is damaged, cracked, uneven or the socket is loose, please stop using it immediately to avoid fire caused by electric shock or overheating.
Please keep the power cord away from places with high temperature or places easily splashed by water.

Please avoid high-temperature places or places easily splashed by water to avoid the danger of burning or electric shock.
Please check the power cord and plug regularly and clean the dirt.

Dust and moisture accumulated on the plug and socket may cause electric conduction and fire. Please wipe it regularly with a dry cloth.
Prevent infants and pets from touching or licking the host plug. Otherwise, electric shock and injury may occur.

Don’t put it out of children’S reach. Children should be supervised to ensure that children don’t play with electrical appliances.
Do not place metal products near the power plug, otherwise it may cause electric shock, short circuit and fire.
The power cord is damaged or the power socket is damaged, which may be dangerous. Please do not use it.

Method of application

One key boiling function:
Plug in the power cord, press the “Power” button, the temperature control kettle starts boiling water, the power switch button lights up the blue indicator light, and the screen displays 888 and then switches to the current temperature. The temperature control kettle stops heating at 212°F, and the blue indicator light goes out and gives three beeps. To cancel the boiling mode, press the Power button again to cancel the job.

Stop the heating function after heating to the target temperature (this function is limited to filteredwater that can be used for raw drinking):
Plug in the power cord, press the “Temperature Adjustment” button, and the display screen will show 104-122-140-158-176-194 °F in sequence, and the cycle will be repeated. Select the temperature to be heated, such as 140°F, press the “Power” button, the  temperature control kettle starts to heat, the power switch button lights up the blue indicator light, and the screen displays the target temperature and then switches to the current temperature.
When the temperature reaches the set heating temperature of 140°F, the temperature control kettle stops heating, the blue indicator light goes out and three beeps sound.

•  After selecting the temperature, press the power button to start it within 5 seconds (the screen flashes four times). If the power button is pressed when the screen stops flashing, the program judges that it will boil to 212°F with one button.
• If the selected target temperature is lower than the current temperature, it will stop working after two beeps.

Heat preservation function (this function is limited to filtered water that can be used as raw drink):

1. Plug in the power cord, press the “Temperature Adjustment” button, and the display screen will show 104-122-140-158-176-194 °F in sequence, and the cycle will be repeated. Select the temperature to be insulated, such as 158°F, press the “Insulation” button, the temperature control kettle starts to heat, the power switch button lights up the red indicator light, and the screen displays the set temperature. When the temperature reaches the set heat preservation temperature of 158°F, the temperature control kettle stops heating, gives three beeps, and the red indicator light is on continuously, entering the heat preservation mode, and the screen displays the set temperature. If the current temperature is lower than the holding temperature by 18°F within 12 hour, the temperature control kettle will automatically heat to the set holding temperature; After 12 hour, stop the heat preservation, return to standby mode, and the red indicator light goes out.
2. If you want to change the setting of the heat preservation temperature, such as 158°F to 176°F, repeat the above operation sequence, change the heat preservation temperature to 176°F, and heat the temperature control kettle to 176°F before entering the heat preservation.
3.  When no setting is made, it is assumed that the water temperature drops to 140°F after a period of time. Just press the “heat preservation” button, and the power switch button lights up the red indicator light, and the current temperature is 140°F for heat
   preservation within 12 hour. After 12 hour, stop the heat preservation, return to standby mode, and the red indicator light goes out.

If the current temperature is higher than 194°F, keep the temperature at 194°F; if it is lower than 104°F, keep the temperature at 104°F.

Product structure

Matters needing attention in use

Before the first use or after a long time without use, add water to the highest water level in the quick-boiling pot, and then boil the water once or twice in order to clean the pot.
Please pour out the water which is not suitable for drinking.

1. Move the quick-cooking kettle away from the power base, open the lid, and add clean water into the kettle, being careful not to exceed the maximum water level (MAX scale) or lower than the minimum water level (min scale). Cover the lid and put it back on the power base. Pay attention to whether the contact is good.

2. If the amount of water injected is too small, the water will be easily boiled dry; If the water volume exceeds the maximum scale, water may be sprayed from the spout.

3. When water needs to be added before the quick-boiling kettle is completely cooled, pay attention to the high temperature and hot hand when lifting the lid.

4.  Double dry burning protection function:
   (1) When the quick-boiling kettle is heated in the anhydrous state, the double anti-dry burning protection function of the product is started, and the heating will be automatically stopped to prevent the product from being damaged. Do not heat without water, which may cause yellowing of heating plate or damage of heating tube.
   (2) When the above situation occurs, lift the quick-boiling pot away from the power base, and the quick-boiling pot can be used normally only after it is naturally cold. Do not use cold water for cooling directly, so as not to reduce the service life of heating system.

5. In the heat preservation mode, if the temperature control kettle is lifted and put back on the power base within three minutes, the previous heat preservation setting will be maintained; If it takes more than three minutes, all temperature settings will be cancelled.
   Please reset them after putting them back on the power base.

6. Please do not add water to the kettle during boiling or heat preservation.

7. In the standby state, if there is no operation within three minutes, the temperature  control kettle will enter the power—saving mode, give a beep and turn off the LED displayscreen, and press any button to end the sleep and return to the standby state.

8.  To cancel the boiling action or the heat preservation state, just press the “Power” button to cancel the work.

Cleaning method

Matters need attention

1. In order to prolong the service life of the quick-boiling kettle, the scale in the kettle should be cleaned regularly.
2.  Unplug the power plug and let the quick—boiling kettle cool before cleaning.
3.  Do not use steel wire balls or any chemical detergent to clean the inside of the quick-boiling kettle, but wipe the external surface with a damp cloth.
4.  If the scale is too thick, it may affect the sensitivity of the thermal head, which may lead to the situation that the water boils but the electricity is not cut off. Please do regular cleaning and maintenance.
5. It is strictly forbidden to immerse the bottom of the pot or hand in water to avoid failure; If it is splashed by water, please wipe it with a dry cloth as soon as possible. Please keep the pot dry at all times.

Cleaning method in pot

1. Pour a proper amount of descaling materials (such as edible white vinegar or edible citric acid) into the pot, add water to MAX scale, and soak the solution in the pot for more than one hour after boiling.

2.  Pour the solution out of the pot and wipe off the residual sediment with a damp cloth.

3. Rinse with clean water for 4~5 times before reuse.

4. If the scale is too thick, the soaking time should be lengthened, or please repeat the above method for several times.

5. Unplug the power plug.

6. Pour a proper amount of descaling material, add water to MAX scale, and after boiling, let the solution soak in the kettle for more than 1 hour.

7. Pour out the solution in the pot, and wipe off the residual sediment with a damp cloth.

8. Rinse with clean water for 4-5 times before use.

9. Clean the outside of the kettle body with a dry cloth.

10. Put it in a dry and ventilated place, and protect it from shock, moisture and insects.

Fault code and countermeasures

If a warning sound is sounded during the operation of the quick kettle, and letters and numbers appear on the display screen, please compare them according to the table below and take corresponding measures. If the problem persists or other problems occur, please contact JOYHILL Customer Service Center.
