HOW TO USE YOUR REFRIGERATOR CORRECTLY AND EFFECTIVELY
Temperature Controls
-
For both the Freezer and Refrigerator Compartments
Normally set the temperature control switch to the Middle position.
If the refrigerator does not seem cold enough, turn the switch toward “MAX”, if it seems too cold, turn the switch toward “MIN”. -
Food may freeze in the refrigerator compartment
When the ambient temperature decreases excessively such as in the winter, set the temperature control switch to “MIN” position to prevent from food freezing. Food that has a high moisture content (e.g., tofu, vegetables) may freeze when it is placed at the back of the refrigerator compartment. -
For the freezer, when storing ice cream, the temperature should be set between Middle position and “MAX” position.
-
Changing the refrigerator compartment temperature control also varies the temperature in the vegetable crisper.
-
Do not obstruct the outlet and inlet of the cool air circulation with food or containers, otherwise the food will be frozen or will not be cooled consistently throughout refrigerator.
How to Make Ice
- Fill the Ice Tray with water up to the water level line.
- To remove Ice, twist the lever as shown in the figure.

---|---
Refrigerator compartment
0 °C~ 5°C|
(*) The temperature above is measured with ambient temperature at 30°C which may change according to the temperature or other external environmental factors.
In case of insufficient chilliness
Possible situations| Suggestions to check before contacting the
service center
---|---
The refrigerator has just started.| When the plug is completely connected, let
the refrigerator operate approx. 4 hours in order to chill the compartments
without opening its door. In case the door is left open or the ambient
temperature is high, it takes more time to chill the compartments (approx. 24
hours).
The temperature control switch is turned toward “MIN” position.| The
temperature inside the refrigerator is controlled by electronic sensors. If
the refrigerator does not seem cold enough, turn the temperature control
switch toward Middle position or “MAX” position, and it takes approx. 24 hours
to get the adjusted temperature.
The door is opened too frequently or there are too many foods.| When the door
is opened too frequently or there are too many foods, the temperature at such
compartment goes temporarily higher but it will return to normal after 24
hours (with less frequent door opening).
These situations do not indicate malfunctions
Situations | Causes |
---|---|
Sound of flowing water | It is the sound of flowing refrigerant which occurs |
during automatic defrost (1-2 times a day).
The door is difficult to re-open after closing it.| It is because the internal
pressure changes suddenly. After a while, it will return to normal.
When a door is closed, the other one opens followingly.| The air channels
between refrigerator and freezer compartments of 2-door refrigerators are
designed to connect to each other’s.
So, when a door is opened, the other one opens followingly. This indicates no
malfunctions.
The external walls around the refrigerator are quite hot.| It is because of
the heat pipes inside the walls. This indicates no malfunctions and does not
affect the foods inside the refrigerator.
