Display Connection
To connect the pen display to your computer, use the provided 3-in-2 connection cable (Mini HDMI, USB-C, USB-A).

Driver Installation
To use the pen display, you need to install the appropriate drivers. The driver supports Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.12 or later.

OS Support
The pen display driver is compatible with Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.12 or later.

Install via Download
To install the driver, download it from the manufacturer’s website and follow the installation instructions provided.

Pen Nib Replacement
If the pen nib becomes worn out, follow these steps to replace it:

1. Anticlockwise rotate the holder to open the cover.
2. Take a new nib out.
3. Insert the pen nib into the bottom hole and tilt the pen to pull out the old nib.
4. Insert the new nib into the pen and push it straight until it stops.

OSD Setting
The OSD (On-Screen Display) menu allows you to adjust various settings of the display. The OSD buttons on the pen display have the following functions:

• AUTO: Before entering the menu, it functions as auto adjustment. After entering the menu, it functions as back to the previous menu.
• MENU: Press to call up the menu. After entering the menu, it functions as confirm.
• POWER: Power on/off the display.

Through the OSD menu, you can adjust screen brightness, contrast, color, and other parameters.

Function Setting

Device Connection Prompt
The device connection prompt indicates the status of the pen display’s connection to the computer:

1. No Device Detected: The computer does not recognize the tablet.
2. Device connected: The computer has recognized the pen display.

Working Area Setting
The working area setting allows you to define the tablet area that will be mapped to the screen area.

Working Area Setting
There are two options for the working area setting:

1. Full Area: This is the default setting and maps the entire active area of the tablet to the screen.
2. Custom Area: You can drag the corners of the foreground graphic to select a specific screen area.

Rotate Working Area
You can change the direction of the pen display to provide more choices for users. There are four available directions.

Precautions

1. Please read this manual carefully before using, and keep it well for future reference.
2. Before cleaning the display please unplug the USB cable and wipe with a soft damp cloth, do not use any kind of detergents.
3. Don’t expose this product to water or other liquids. Take care to never spill liquids onto the pen display, digital pen, power cable, or power adapter.
4. Do not place the pen display or digital pen on where is unstable or a height.
5. Do not place the tablet on where children reaching easily in order to avoid danger.
6. Do not place the display and digital pen close to the magnetic field.
7. The grooves and holes on the back case is designed for ventilation to prevent the monitor from overheating. Please don’t place the display on beds, sofas, carpets or in embedded device.
8. Only power supplies shown on the nameplate can be used for the display. If you have questions about the power supply which you are using, please consult the distributor of your display.
9. To protect your display, please switch off the power when it is not in use. During blackouts or not using for long time, please unplug the display from the socket.
10. Don’t overload the socket or lengthen the power wire, which may lead to electric shocks.
11. Make sure no foreign bodies get inside the monitor through grooves and prevent liquid from splashing on the display as to prevent short-circuit or fire.
12. If the display has a breakdown, do not open the main case and try to repair it by yourself. Please ask for a service for proper repair and maintenance.
13. When the following situations occur, please unplug the power adapter and you may need a service for full repair and maintenance:
    • A. The power wire or plug is damaged or worn out;
    • B. There is liquid splashed inside of the display;
    • C. The display has fallen or the LCD is broken;
    • D. When obvious abnormalities occur to the display。
14. While getting the components replaced, you are supposed to guarantee that the repairman is using the substitute components specified by the manufacturer. Unauthorized component replacement might cause fire, electric shocks or other dangers.

Product Introduction
Thanks for choosing GAOMON® PD1561 graphics display. This is a new generation of portable desktop-level professional drawing display, which can greatly improve your work efficiency of painting and creation, and full of fun. You can freely painting and writing, depicting different lines and colors, just as the pen writes on the paper, which brings you a real shock experience.
To give you a better understanding and using of your display, please read this user manual carefully. The user manual only shows the information under Windows, unless otherwise specified, this information applies to both Windows and Macintosh systems.

   Please choose the right plug according to your country or region, and assemble it to the power adapter.（It may not come with all the plugs）

Display Connection

1. Connect your PC and the display with integrated cable.
2. Plug the power adapter into the cable power connector and turn it 90 ° to ensure that the plug does not come off and connect the power adapter to the power source.
3. Turn on computer and switch on the display, the LED indicator will show the current status：Green means working normal, Red means no signal.

Driver Installation

1. OS Support
   Windows 7 or later，macOS 10.12 or later

2. Install via Download
   Please download the driver from our website: www.gaomon.net/download/ After finishing installation, you can find the grey driver icon in the system tray area, which means the driver was installed successfully; when you connect the tablet to computer, the icon will become orange , which means the driver has already recognized the tablet and you can start using it now.

Notice:

1. Before installing, you need to uninstall other driver of similar products, including the old driver of this product.
2. Before installing, please close all graphics software and anti-virus software to avoid unnecessary mistakes.

Pen Nib Replacement

1. The nib will be worn out after using for long time, then you need to replace a new nib.

• +: After entering menu, it’s function is to up/right/increase.
• MENU: Press to call up the menu, after entering menu, it’s function is confirm. POWER : Power on/off the display.
• Remark: Through the OSD menu, you can adjust the screen brightness, contrast, color and other parameters.

Function Setting

Device Connection Prompt

1. No Device Detected: The computer does not recognize the tablet.
2. Device connected: The computer has recognized the pen display.

Working Area Setting

1. Using Multiple Monitors
   The location of cursor depends on the screen mode you chose when connected the pen display to an external display (such as laptop or all-in-one PC), for instance: In Duplicate Mode, the pen display and the external display will show the same picture, and the cursor will be displayed on each monitor simultaneously. In Extend Mode, you need to choose the monitor on the driver interface to decide the cursor location. When the location of the cursor is decided, you can map the working area on the driver interface.

2. Working Area Setting
   Define the tablet area that will be mapped to the screen area.

3. Full Area: the entire active area of the tablet. This is the default setting.

4. Custom Area: Drag the corners of the foreground graphic to select the screen area.

5. Rotate Working Area
   By changing the direction of the pen display to provide more choices for users. Four directions are available.

6. Express Keys Function Setting

   • Default Setting: Place the cursor on the shortcut key or click the express key to find the default values.
   • Customized Setting: Select the function to be achieved on the pop-up dialog box, and it will be saved automatically.
   • Enable/Disable Express Keys: Check/Uncheck” Enable Express Keys”

Pen Buttons Function Setting
Customized Setting: Select the function to be achieved on the pop-up dialog box, and it will be saved automatically.

Pressure Sensitivity Setting
The pressure sensitivity will be changed by dragging the points of the pressure curve.

• Drag the points to the upper left for higher sensitivity.
• Drag the points to the lower right for lower sensitivity.

Pen Pressure Testing
You can gradually apply pressure to the stylus on the screen to test the pressure level.

Calibration

• Screen Calibration: Click the red cross on the screen to complete calibration.
• Factory Reset: Click ‘Factory Reset’ to reset the pen display.
• Cancel Calibration: Click ‘Cancel Calibration’ or press ‘ESC’ to stop the calibration.

Enable the Windows Ink Feature
The function is for software that supports Windows Ink, such as Microsoft Office, Windows Journal, Adobe Photoshop CC, SketchBook 6 and so on.

Mouse Mode (Only for specific models)
As shown below, check the checkbox in front of the mouse mode to open the mouse mode. Under mouse mode, when you move the pen, the cursor moves following the relative coordinate principle, similar to moving the cursor with the mouse. This means you can click icons or select options at the edge of the screen without moving the pen to the edge of the working area.

Customize Express Keys and Pressure Curve
You can customize the function of press keys and pressure curve for different program. Select a program, customize the function of Express keys, and adjust the pressure curve, the settings will be automatically saved.

Data Export and Import
The driver supports exporting and importing your custom configuration data of the product, which is convenient for you to use different software and avoid the trouble of repeated settings.

Trouble Shooting

Possible Breakdowns Related to DISPLAY

and power cable
No signal–saving power–all black| 1.  Make sure the 3-in-2 cables are well connected.

2.  If you use a desktop, make sure the HDMI port is plugged into the graphic card on the tower, but not into the motherboard.

3.  If you use a Windows OS computer, make sure to press ”Windows+p” on keyboard, then choose Duplicate or Extend. Don’t choose Computer Only or Projector Only.

4.  If there is no HDMI port on your computer, you need an extra HDMI adapter. We DON’T recommend a USB to HDMI adapter. Also we don’t recommend a USB hub. We recommend DVI/ VGA/ Display Port/ Type-C/ Thunderbolt, etc to HDMI adapters.

Nothing displays at all，with no indicator light.| 1.Make sure the power cord is well connected. 2.Try different power socket.
Displays wallpaper & task bar of computer monitor only.| 1.  It is because you are under extended mode right now. It is normal situation.

2.  If you are not familiar with extended mode, we recommend you to use in Duplicate/Mirror mode. Windows OS: Press keyboard combination—windows+p—then choose Duplicate

Mac OS: System Preference—Displays— Arrangement— Check “Mirror Displays”

3. If you decide to use in Extended mode. Make sure to choose pen display as Work Area in GAOMON Driver. It is usually ”Display 2”.

Images are blurred| Please set the display resolution with 1920 x 1080.
Lack of colors| Check the pins of the signal wire are not bent or fractured.
There is chromatic aberration| As the regional color temperature is different, so minor chromatic aberration is a normal phenomenon.
Images jitter or ripple images appear| It is likely that there is electric equipment nearby that brings about electronic interference.

Possible Breakdowns Related to FUNCTIONS

not work in art programs only: Uninstall the driver and reinstall it. If you use Windows OS, make sure to ”run as administrator” when installing the driver. (But not ”run as administrator” on desktop after the driver has been well installed already)
2. When pen does not work everywhere: Try re-inserting the USB cable. Try different USB ports on computer. Try different computer.
Cursor movement is abnormal| Try re-inserting the USB cable or restarting your computer.
The side button of the pen doesn’t work| When pressing the side button, please make sure that the nib didn’t touch the glass surface and the distance between the nib and surface is within 10 mm
There is a deviation between the tip and the cursor| Try calibration

GAOMON driver indicates ”device connected”, but the pen doesn’t respond in Mac OS  10.14 or above versions.
