1.2 Operation System & Art Program & E-Learning Software Compatibility 1.2.1 Operation System
GAOMON PD156 PRO Pen Display is NOT a standalone product, which means it cannot work alone and it must be connected to a laptop or desktop computer which runs Windows 7 or later or Mac 10.12 or later system. Please note that it can’t be compatible with Chrome OS, or Linux OS. If you are using Windows or Mac OS, please choose the correct model and system and download driver here: https://www.gaomon.net/download/

Our tablets are compatible with most drawing software. –Free software like Krita, Gimp, FireAlPaca, MediBang, Inkscape0.92.2, Blender, etc. –Paid software like Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, Sketchbook, SAI version2, etc.

2. How to set up PD156 PRO on Windows/Mac?
2.1 How to set up on Windows OS?
1. Please connect all cables well, including 2 in 1 cable, Y cable and power adapter.(Because if the power is not enough, there will be a flash screen.) 2. Close all art programs and anti-virus program first.Make sure there is no anti-virus program running in the hidden bar. (You can still run anti-virus program while the issue get confirmed and fixed)
3. Please uninstall the previous GAOMON driver clearly. Go to Control Panel—Programs and Features—uninstall current installed GAOMON Driver–also make sure there is no other brands tablet driver. (VERY IMPORTANT). 4. Download the driver here: https://www.gaomon.net/download/ and install the driver.
Please right-click the driver setup icon, whose file extension is .exe’, in the installation file and selectRun as administrator’ from the dropdown list.(Run as an administrator before installation, not after installation.

5. Having installed GAOMON Driver, please test whether the pen can move the cursor like a mouse normally. If the pen can move the cursor like a mouse normally, you can customize express keys in GAOMON Driver now. 6. And please download drawing programs online to use with GAOMON PD156 PRO. Our tablets can be compatible with most drawing software. –Free software like Krita, Gimp, FireAlPaca, MediBang, Inkscape0.92.2, Blender, etc. –Paid software like Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, Sketchbook, SAI version2, etc

2.2 How to set up on Mac OS ?
1. Please connect all cables well, including 2 in 1 cable, Y cable and power adapter.(Because if when the power is not enough, there will be a flash screen.) 2. Download driver here: https://www.gaomon.net/download/
Click the installation package—Drag ‘GAOMON Tablet’ icon upon ‘Applications’ and hold on for a while until it enters in ‘Applications’ folder—Double click ‘GAOMON Tablet’ and select ‘Open’ to run the driver. Now the GAOMON Driver has been installed.

If your Mac OS version is mac 10.14, 10.15, Mac Big Sur or above OS, please kindly remember to give GAOMON Driver permission otherwise the driver will not work in Mac. If you are using the previous Mac OS version, please ignore the following part. 3. After installation, please press one of the tablet express key to pop out a box titled ‘Accessibility Access’. Then click ‘Open System Preferences’ to bring out ‘Security & Privacy’ box. Don’t click “Deny”!
4. Click the lock icon and input your password–>Tick ‘TabletDriverAgent’–> Click ” and it will bring out another box.

5. Go Applications–> find out ‘GAOMON Tablet’ and click ‘Open’.
6. Tick ‘GAOMONTablet’ circled in red and click the lock icon. Then you can draw on the tablet. Now you have got permission to use GAOMON Tablet Driver on your Mac OS.

2.3 Two ways to connect PD156 PRO with computer
Connection Method A 1. Connect the pen display to your computer with 2-in-1 cable. 2. Press the power button to power on the display.
(If the PD156 PRO flicker or cannot display as monitor properly, please select the Connection Method B.) Connection Method B 1. Connect the pen display to your computer with 2-in-1 cable. 2.Connect the power adapter to the power cable. 3. Press the power button to power on the display.

If you use a desktop computer, please make sure the HDMI cable inserted into graphic card, but not in the motherboard.If there is no HDMI port on your computer, please buy extra HDMI adapter to use with GAOMON PD156 PRO. For example,DVI to HDMI adapter, VGA to HDMI adapter, Display port to HDMI adapter, Type-C to HDMI adapter.

2.4 OSD Setting & Color Adjusting 2.4.1 OSD Setting
Enter OSD Menu: 1. Press – “Function Button” around three seconds until the OSD menu appears and meanwhile the indicator will be on. The function of the Keys will become OSD function. 2. In the menu, the function of will become as the following: AUTO: Before entering menu, its function is auto adjustment. After entering menu, its function is back to previous menu. MENU: Press to call up the menu, after entering menu, its function is confirm. – : After entering menu, its function is down/left/decrease. + : After entering menu, its function is up/right/increase. Exit OSD Menu: 3. Press -“Function Button” again for around three seconds until the indicator will be off, the function of the Keys will become shortcuts function again.

2.4.2 Color Adjusting
Please kindly note that, as a matter of fact, the difference of color exists in all monitors. Even it is the same computer brand and the same model, there still exists certain color difference between two computer monitors. But if the color difference is too obvious, which is out of the range, we can try to adjust it. Please adjust the color by followings: OSD menu – Color Setup – Color Temp – User – Adjust Color Red/Green/Blue .

3. Display Issues & Solutions
3.1 How to do when the screen indicates ”No Signal–Saving Power”
1. Please kindly note that “No Signal” issue is related to the HDMI connection. Please make sure the HDMI cable is well connected between PD156 PRO & computer. 2. If you use windows computer, please press “Windows+p” on keyboard to choose Duplicate or Extended mode. Don’t choose “Projector Only” or “Computer Only”. Otherwise it will cause no-signal issues. 3. Is there an HDMI interface on the computer? Or are you using HDMI adapter?If you are using an HDMI adapter, please make sure it’s not a USB to HDMI adapter. USB is mainly supported for data transmission, but it’s not good for video/signal transmission. So DVI/VGA/Display port/type-c to HDMI adapter is highly recommended, but whichever you choose depends on your device. 4. Please find/borrow another computer that comes with an HDMI port to test again. Make sure the HDMI cable plug into the graphic card, but not in the motherboard.
If the No-Signal issue still remains when you have tried above solutions, please take a video and send to GAOMON SERVICE. We cover 1 year warranty based on non-artificial made damages and non-accident damages. Please don’t worry about it!
3.2 How to do when the screen is all black without displaying anything with indicator light off ?
1. Please kindly note that if it doesn’t display anything with indicator off, the issue should be related to the power cord connection. Please kindly check whether you have well connected the power cord. 2. Please change a different power socket to test again. If the issue still remains, please take a video and send to GAOMON SERVICE. We cover 1 year warranty based on non-artificial made damages and non-accident damages . Please don’t worry about it!

3.3 How to do when the PD156 PRO only displays wallpaper of computer but without any applications?
If PD156 PRO only shows the wallpaper of your computer, but without any programs, it is actually the normal situation of the Extend mode. You can set Duplicate Mode if you are not familiar with Extend Mode. So PD156 PRO will display exact same with your computer monitor. -Duplicate mode on Windows: Please press ’Windows+p” on keyboard, and make sure to choose Duplicate mode. -Mirror mode on Mac: Set Mirror Mode: Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner —“System preference”—choose “Display” –Select the’Mirror Display.”

( If you still want to use extend mode, please set the extend mode correctly.) -Extend mode on Windows: 1. Please simultaneously press the ‘windows’ + ‘P’ key on your keyboard, ensure that you select extend mode.
2. Open the GAOMON driver page –> Workspace –> Select the GAOMON tablet as the current display.
3. Now you can open the painting software on your computer, drag the painting software from the computer to our screen and draw normally in extend mode.

-Extend mode on Mac: 1. System preference –> Screen –> Arrangement–> Cancel check “Mirror mode”.
2. Open the driver page –> Work area –> select the GAOMON tablet as the current display( it’s usually Display 2)–>click Full Area –>Apply.
3. Now you can open the painting software on your computer, drag the painting software from the computer to our screen and draw normally in extend mode.

4. Pen Issues & Solutions
4.1 How to test and set the pen pressure sensitivity ?
1. You can gradually apply pressure to the stylus on the screen to test the pressure level. The highest pressure level is 8192 and when you test to 0 just means no pressure.
2. The pressure sensitivity will be changed dragging the slider or down ,the smaller the value is, the more sensitive the pen will be.

4.2 How to do when GAOMON driver indicates ”No Device Detected” and pen does not work?
1. Please kindly note that it’s usually related to the USB connection. Please make sure the USB cable is well connected between PD156 PRO and the computer. 2. Please change a different USB port on your computer to test again. 3. Please test on another computer. No need to install GAOMON Driver. Let’s see whether the pen can respond when there is no GAOMON Driver installed on another computer. If the issue remains, please kindly give test result to GAOMON SERVICE. We cover 1 year warranty based on non-artificial made damages and non-accident damages. Please don’t worry about it!
4.3 How to do when the cursor is only moving on the computer monitor but not on PD156 PRO ?
If the PD156 PRO only shows the wallpaper of your computer, but without any programs, it is actually under the Extend mode. And meanwhile, if the cursor moves on computer monitor instead of on tablet monitor, which indicates the computer monitor has been chosen as work area in GAOMON driver, but not the PD156 PRO. So the cursor only moves on computer monitor. Solution1 : Please open GAOMON Driver–Work Area–Choose PD156 PRO as work area–Save — Now you can use the mouse to move the cursor from computer monitor to PD156 PRO to work. -Extend mode on Windows: 1. Please press `’Windows+P” on keyboard, and make sure choose Extend mode.

2. Open the driver page –> Workspace –> select the GAOMON tablet as the current display.
3. Now you can use the mouse to move the application from computer monitor to GAOMON monitor. – Extend mode on Mac: 1. System preference –> Screen –> Arrangement–> Cancel check “Mirror mode”.

-Mirror mode on Mac: Set Mirror Mode: Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner —“System preference”—choose “Display” –Select the `’Mirror Display.”
4.4 How to do when the issue only happens in Clip Studio Paint?
Step 1: Please set in Clip Studio Paint according to following path. Preference –Tablet –Win tab Preference–Performance–Allocate to application–100% Step 2: If the issue remains, please try to reinstall GAOMON Driver. Make sure there is no other brands tablet driver installed on your computer please.
4.5 How to do when the issue only happens in GIMP?
Step 1: Please set in GIMP according to following path.GIMP– Edit–Input Devices–Mode: Screen ( remember to select Screen Mode for all of three )—Save. Step 2: If the issue remains, please try to reinstall GAOMON Driver. Make sure there is no other brands tablet driver installed on your computer please.

4.6 How to do when the pen only lags in Photshop CC ?
Step 1: Please try to reinstall GAOMON Driver. Make sure there is no other brands tablet driver installed on your computer please. Step 2: Please set inside PhotoshopCC according to following path. Edit–Preference– Uncheck `’Use Graphics Processor”
Step 3: Create a new canvas and zoom to 100%. Step 4: Click “Reset Brushes” in brush settings. (As following picture)

4.7 How to calibrate pen cursor?
Step 1: Please set your computer under Duplicate Mode/Mirror Mode and test whether the issue remains. -Windows OS: Press ”windows+p” — choose ”Duplicate”.
-Mac Os: System Preference”——Choose “Displays”—– Click “Arrangement”–Click the “Mirror Displays”
Step 2: If the same issue still exists under Duplicate/Mirror mode, please try to calibrate during GAOMON Driver: Two calibration methods 1. Clicking the red center of the calibration crosses one by one. 2. Clicking the dot where is away from the red center of the calibration cross. The distance between the dot and the red center is the same as that between the cursor and the stylus nib. Do not click the red center.

For example, if the cursor deviated 5mm left from the nib, shown as below picture,while calibrating, please click the position where is 5mm right away from the red center, like the figure shows.
Two stylus grasps 1. Keep the stylus vertical to the display of PD156 PRO while clicking the red center of the calibration crosses. 2. Hold the stylus in your natural grip while clicking the red center.

Case1 : Calibrate on Windows -Open GAOMON driver interface and go ‘Work Area’ to select ‘Screen Calibration’.

-If still cannot get close as you want, try to click ”Factory Reset” directly and no need to click the 9 red dots.
Case2 : Calibrate on Mac -Open GAOMON driver interface and go ‘Work Area’ to select ‘Monitor Calibration’
-If still cannot get close as you want, try to click ”Restore default” directly and no need to click the 9 red dots.

-If your Driver Version was under 14, please do not click the calibration crosses but directly click ‘Restore default’ button when entering the calibration interface. NOTE! DO NOT click the calibration crosses! -After it goes back to Work Area automatically, please check whether the cursor runs well or not. Step 3: If the issue still happens, please provide the following information to GAOMON SERVICE so that we can give you specific solution and assist you further by email. 1. Do you use windows or mac OS? Which OS version? desktop or laptop? 2. Does the cursor offset issue occurs in the drawing programs only or it happenseverywhere?If it happens in drawing programs only, please tell me which programs have you tested and which version of them? 3. How much mm is the distance/gap between the pen nib and cursor?Please take a video and let us see whether it is within the normal range. 4. Are you left or right hand user? 5. Are the tablet express keys on your left side or right side?

5. Other Issues
5.1 How to customize the Express Key function on digital pen AP50?
1. Open GAOMON driver and go to the “Express Key” interface to start customizing the hotkeys.

5.3 How to sign/write on Microsoft office files in Word/Excel/PowerPoint& One Note?
GAOMON PD156 PRO supports to write, sign, comment, annotate on Microsoft Office Files like using a real pen on real paper. All solutions in this article are based on the version of Microsoft Office 2016, but the steps are similar in other versions.

5.3.1 Word Document

–How to draw with digital pen in the comment area of Word file?

1. Connect GAOMON PD156 PRO with computer. 2. Open a document that you want to deal with. 3. Click on the item ‘Review’. We can use the tablet pen to control the cursor.

4. Find the icon ‘ink

: a pen shape tool on a folded paper with a star at the corner.

In Office 2016, there are three icons related with ‘ink comment’. One is ‘ink comment’ to add a new

comment; one is ‘pen style and

; the other is ‘ink comment .

5. Click ‘ink comment’ and then a comment box will appear in the right area. You can use the tabletpen to draw in this comment box. The handwritten ‘GAOMON’ is in the comment area for your reference:

–How to highlight and sign your name on Word file?
1. Having well connected PD156 PRO to computer, please open the Word document. 2. Click ‘Review’ and click ‘Start Inking’.
3. Tips: The wide pen is a highlighter. The narrow pen is for drawing. Here are highlight and underlines for your reference:

5.3.2 Excel
1. Having well connected PD156 PRO to computer,please open the Excel file. 2. Click ‘Review’ and click ‘Start Inking’, then we can draw on excel files with digital pen. Note: All the drawing you have made will disappear (in fact, they are hidden) if you clicked ‘show ink’, and re-click can make all of them appear.
5.3.3 One Note
1. Having well connected PD156 PRO to computer, please open One Note. 2. Now you can use GAOMON pen to draw now. The item ‘Draw’ can help us to adjust the pen and color.

5.3.4 PowerPoint
1. After well connected PD156 PRO to computer, open PowerPoint. 2. Click the item ‘Review’ and then click ‘Start Inking’, now we can draw on PowerPoint.

5.4 How to comment, highlight and sign/draw on PDF (Acrobat Reader DC)?
All solutions in this article are in Acrobat Reader DC. In other PDF programs, the steps resemble.
5.4.1 How to sign/write on PDF?
1.Make sure the cable well connected. 2.Open the Acrobat Reader DC and a PDF file that you want to sign your name. Here is an example. 3.Click ‘Tools’ and then find the item ‘Fill & Sign’ from the ‘Tools’ menu, then open it.
4. Click the item ‘Sign’, then choose ‘Add Signature’.

6. Click ‘Draw’, then you can use GAOMON stylus to write–click ‘Apply’ to save it. 7. The signature can be placed anywhere in the PDF after saving it. For example, put the signature at the place that marks ‘8’, choose ‘Sign’, click that place, then signature comes out.

5.4.2 How to use GAOMON tablet to draw, comment on or highlight in PDF files
Having connected PD1320 to computer, then open the Acrobat Reader DC. 1. Click ‘Tools’ — find ‘Comment’ , and open it.
2. Click ‘Draw free form’ that marked as `3′ in below picture to draw .We can select a color and line thickness from the icon that marked as ‘4’ 3. The ‘Draw free form’ option makes you can use the tablet pen to draw words on PDF files, just like you draw on canvas. Here is an example, using GAOMON tablet pen to write ‘Gaomon’ and ‘Charlse’ on this PDF.

4. The ‘Draw free form’ option also makes the tablet pen to draw, line, circle or mark out the important content.
5. Move the cursor on the circled pen and click it. Then you can use the tablet pen to highlight the content you want.

5.5 How to use Duplicate Mode & Extend Mode
Duplicate Mode: The PD156 PRO will display exactly same with your computer monitor. Extend Mode: The PD156 PRO will display wallpaper of your computer only. When you draw on PD156 PRO, the computer monitor can display separately.

-Duplicate mode on Windows: Please press ’Windows+p” on keyboard, and make sure choose Duplicate mode. -Mirror mode on Mac: Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner—“System preference”—choose “Display”— Select the’Mirror Display.”
