App and WiFi Connection

Q: Connect your robot with the ECOVACS HOME App.

A: Preparation for the connection

  1. Scan the QR code on the robot or search the ECOVACS HOME App in Google Play or Apple App Store, download and install the Ecovacs Home App as per thein structions. Please allow the related locating authorization (including GP Sand GPRS) for this APP.
  2. Please ensure your smart phone is connected to your home WiFi. Notes: The robot supports 2.4GHz WiFi signal or mixed network of 2.4GHz/5GHz. If your router sends out two WiFi signals, please temporarily ignore the 5GHzWi-Fi signal.

Connect your robot with the ECOVACS HOME App:

Open the ECOVACS Home app and add your robot by scanning the QR code on the robot. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the network connection. Alternatively, you can also manually add the model and connect the robot to the network.

Tips:

  1. The robot does not support hidden WiFi signal, meaning the WiFi signal network name should be visible on your smart phone for the connection.
  2. The connection does not support VPN or Proxy server currently.
  3. The connection does not support web authentication or certification network

Charging

Q: Why can’t my robot be charged?

A:

  1. Check whether the power socket is powered on, and make sure that the power cord is installed properly on the station.
  2. Take off the cover of the robot, and make sure that the power switch is pushed to “I”.
  3. Check whether DEEBOT can be turned on normally:
  4. If it can be turned on: Place the robot in front of the station and tap the Recall button on the station to let the robot return to the station by itself. After successful docking, the white indicator of AUTO button starts blinking. Checkagain after charging for 4-5 hours.
  5. If it can’t be turned on: Push the robot back to the station, and you will hear a voice prompt when the robot starts charging after successful docking. Checkagain after charging for 4-5 hours.

Station

Q: How to use the base station?

A:

What do the buttons on the station control panel mean?

  1. Add water to cleaning sink/Drain the water out of cleaning sink: tap this button to add water to the cleaning sink or tap again to drain the water out of the cleaning sink.
  2. Start/Pause DEEBOT: tap this button to let DEEBOT start or stop cleaning; hold this button for 3-5 seconds can end all tasks.
  3. Recall/Exit DEEBOT: Tap this button can recall DEEBOT to the station or direct DEEBOT to exit from the station.
    You can check the station information in the ECOVACS HOME App. There are should be some prompts if the clean water level is low or the waste water tank is full.
    You can also use the YIKO voice assistant to ask DEEBOT to do some cleaning tasks. Please check more voice commands in the App.
    Notes: Washing mopping pads command and the air drying command can only work when DEEBOT is in the station and charging.

Q: How to clean the cleaning sink?

A:

  1. Take out the cleaning brush from the storage box.
  2. Tap the add water button on the station, DEEBOT will move out from the station automatically, and water will be added to the cleaning sink automatically.
  3. Use the cleaning brush to clean the cleaning sink.
  4. After cleaning is done, tap the button again to drain the waste water out of the cleaning sink.
  5. Place the robot in front of the station and tap the Recall/Exit button onthestation to let the robot return to the station by itself for charging.
  6. Take out the waste water tank from the station and clean up the waste water.
    Notes: Before using, please make sure that there is some clean water inside the clean water tank

Q: What should I do if no clean water flows into the cleaning sink?

A:

  1. Open the top cover of the station and take out the clean water tank.
  2.  Check whether there is any foreign object between the clean water tank andthe station, if so, please clean it.
  3. Check whether the sealing plug for the clean water tank in the station is properly installed. If not, please re install it.
  4. Check whether there is any foreign object in the water outlet, if yes, please clean it.
  5. Check whether the water inlet filter in the clean water tank is too dirty after using for a while. If so, please clean it and put it back to the original place after cleaning

Q: The waste water in the cleaning sink cannot be recycled or the wastewater tank doesn’t have any water, but the robot reminds that the wastewater tank is full.

A:

  • Please check whether the indicator on the station flashes, if it flashes, the station needs to be powered off first. And then troubleshoot after the station being powered on again.
    1. Take out/Exit the robot from the station, then check whether there is any fo reign object blocking the water hole in the cleaning sink, if there is, please clean it.
    2. Open the top cover of the station, take out the clean water tank and the wastewater tank. Open the covers of the tanks to check whether the sealing plugs are properly installed, and close them after 10 seconds.
    3. Press the sealing plugs of the clean water tank and the waste water tank.
    4. Put the water tanks back to the station and press them.
    5. If the robot prompts “The cleaning sink is full” when the cleaning sink is empty, please check whether the water level sensor is dirty, and wipe the water level sensor on both sides of the cleaning sink with a tissue.

Q: The clean water tank is full of water, but the robot reminds that the clean water tank is lack of water or the clean tank is uninstalled.

A:

  1. The clean water tank is full of water, but the robot reminds that the clean water tank is lack of water.

  2.  Open the top cover of the station, and take out the clean water tank to check whether the water level is higher than the floater. a. It is normal if the water level is lower than the floater. It means that the water is insufficient, please add water to the tank. b. If the water level is higher than the floater, please lift the clean water tank and put it into the station again.

  3. If the robot still alarms, please
    a. Push the floater gently to check whether it is stuck. If there is no alarm after pushing, then the tank can be used normally.
    b. If the floater cannot be pushed or it still alarms after pushing, please contact ECOVACS Customer Service.
    c. Check whether the floater is broken, resulting in water inside the floater. If yes, please contact ECOACS Customer Service.

  4. The clean water tank is properly installed and there is water, but the robot still reminds that the clean water tank is uninstalled.

  5. Take out the clean water tank, press the sealing plug and put it back.

  6. Check whether the small magnet on the clean water tank is lost, if so, please contact ECOVACS Customer Service.

Mapping

Q: How to manage my map in the ECOVACS HOME App?

A:

Open the ECOVACS HOME App, find Map Management in the settings to manage your map.

  1.  Map backup and restore
  2. Map will be backed up automatically after the mapping is completed.
  3. If the map has ever been edited manually (like setting virtual walls) but it is not backed up manually, the edited map will not be restored in the next map recovery.
  4. If the edited map is backed up manually, the recent backup map will be restored in the map recovery.
  5. Set up virtual walls in the map: virtual walls can be set while DEEBOT is cleaning or mapping. Please don’t set virtual walls near the station.
  6. Use the current map to divide/merge areas

Q: How to map my home for the first time? How to start Quick Mapping?

A:Preparing your house :

Open the doors to the rooms you want to map and remove obstacles that you think may disturb the cleaning. Connect your robot with the ECOVACS HOME App before the mapping. There are two ways to start the mapping (let the robot start from the base station):

  1. Quick Mapping: When all is ready, say it to DEEBOT: “OK YIKO, start Quick Mapping or tap Start Quick Mapping in the App
  2. Normal mapping via an AUTO cleaning cycle Once the mapping is completed, you can manage the map and unlock more advanced functions in the App such as virtual wall, custom cleaning etc. Notes: For the first time mapping, it’s not recommended to attach the mopping pad plates as the robot will not go over the carpets in Vacuum and Mopping mode or in Mopping mode

Cleaning

Q: DEEBOT automatically goes to work at a certain time when Scheduled Cleaning is not set.

A:

Open the ECOVACS HOME App and tap My Scenario (the small house icon) in the upper-right corner to check whether scheduled cleaning has been set. If so, please delete it. 2. Q: The robot didn’t vacuum small particles when cleaning. A:

  1. Remove the main brush cover and take out the main brush for cleaning. Make sure both are installed property after cleaning.
  2. Clean the dust collection port, dust bin and filters before use. (If the dust bin and filters have been rinsed with water, please make sure to air dry them before use).
  3. Open the ECOVACS HOME App and go to Smart Cleaning to set the suction power to Max or Max+.

Q: The cleaning log in the App is displayed abnormally.

A:

  1. Check whether the current robot is a shared device. The cleaning log of the robot before sharing will not be displayed, but the number of cleaning times will be displayed.
  2. Check whether the robot has completed multiple cleaning tasks when offline. After the robot is offline, only the latest several entries of cleaning log data is cached by default.
  3. Check whether an unstable home network caused the log upload error. Were commend trying again in a better network environment.

Q: The mopping pad plate rotates during cleaning but does not rotate when the robot has returned to the docking station.

A:

Remove the mopping pad plate, and check whether there are any foreign objects and whether the mopping pad is closely attached. If the mopping pad plate still does not rotate after the operation, please contact ECOVACS Customer Care.

Q: How to update the mopping pads cleaning interval in the ECOVACS HOME App?

A:

Open ECOVACS HOME App, enter Smart Cleaning, and you can choose different mopping pads cleaning intervals and set more other cleaning preference. Generally, the new set mopping pads cleaning interval will take effect in next cleaning.

Q: How to set cleaning preference for your home environment?

A:

  1. Log in the ECOVACS HOME App and enter the cleaning page
  2. Scroll down the screen – you can see and choose different mopping pad cleaning interval, vacuum power and other cleaning preferences. Generally, the new set up will take effect in your next cleaning. 7. Q: How to use area cleaning and custom cleaning?

A: Area Cleaning

  1. The robot will divide areas automatically after the first successful mapping.
  2. Select areas to clean based on your needs. Cleaning times and suction power\ can be set in the cleaning preference function.
  3. Several areas can be selected for cleaning, and DEEBOT will clean according to the sequence of the selected cleaning areas. If you have set the sequence of cleaning in cleaning sequence, DEEBOT will follow the set sequence first.

Custom Cleaning

  1. 1. Custom cleaning can be used after the map is created.
  2. One or more custom areas can be added in the map, and DEEBOT will clean based on the added custom areas.

Q: What should I do if the App prompts that DEEBOT is blocked, and the cleaning ends during area cleaning

A:

If the door to the area was closed when DEEBOT cleans it last time, it will prompt that DEEBOT is blocked, and the cleaning ends when you select this area to clean in your next cleaning.

Solution: Please open the door to this area, and then let DEEBOT complete an auto-cleaning cycle. After that, please try to do the area cleaning again.

Cleaning

Emptying

Q: Auto-emptying failed, no dust bag detected or the dust bag is full.

A:

  1. Make sure that the dust bag is fitted correctly and that the dust collection cabin is closed properly.
  2. Make sure that DEEBOT is correctly placed on the docking station.
  3. If the dust collection cabin at the docking station contains a dust bag, please remove the dust bag. Restart DEEBOT and place it on the docking station correctly again. Disconnect the power supply to the docking station and then reconnect the power supply. Check the firmware version of the robot and keep it up to date.
  4. Make sure that DEEBOT is charging. Reinstall the dust bag before use.

Mopping

Q: The mopping pad is too dry or too wet for mopping.

A:

  1. If the mopping pad is too dry for mopping, please open the ECOVACS HOME App and go to Smart Cleaning to set the water flow level for mopping to high and set the mopping pad washing interval to deep.
  2. If the mopping pad is a little or too wet for mopping, please open the ECOVACS HOME App and go to Smart Cleaning to set the water flow level for mopping to low or medium and set the mopping pad washing interval todailyor high-efficiency.

Q: The robot is struggling to remove some stains from the floor during moppi ng.

A:

  1. Open the ECOVACS HOME App and go to Smart Cleaning to set the water flow level for mopping to medium or high.
  2. Open the ECOVACS HOME App and go to Smart Cleaning to select the Deep Scrubbing mode.

Air-drying

Q: Setting up the drying time for the mopping pad.

A:

Open the ECOVACS HOME App and go to Smart Cleaning to set the drying time.

Installation and Disassembly

Q: How to uninstall/install the mopping pad plates and the mopping pads?

A:

  1. Turn over the robot gently.
  2. Remove the mopping pad plates, and remove the washable mopping pads from the plates properly.
  3. Wash the mopping pads if necessary and use after drying the mup.
  4. Align the mopping pads with the plates, then attach the mopping pads plates to the robot and make sure they are installed in place.

Installation and Disassembly

Q: How to uninstall/install the mopping pad plates and the mopping pads?

A:

  1. Turn over the robot gently.
  2. Remove the mopping pad plates, and remove the washable mopping pads from the plates properly.
  3. Wash the mopping pads if necessary and use after drying the mup.
  4. Align the mopping pads with the plates, then attach the mopping pads platesto the robot and make sure they are installed in place. Maintenance

Q: How to clean the waste water tank and the clean water tank?

A:

  1. Open the top cover of the station and take out the waste water tank. Open the cover of the waste water tank and clean up the waste water. (If the bottom of the tank remains dirty, you can use the cleaning tool to clean it up.)
  2. Open the top cover of the station and take out the clean water tank. Open the cover of the clean water tank, take out the filter assembly and clean the filter. Please put it back after cleaning.

Q: How to clean the side brushes?

A:

  1. Power off the DEEBOT, and turn it over gently.
  2. Remove the side brushes.
  3. Clean the roller and the entanglement on the brushes.
  4. Attach the brushes to the robot: Press down after aligning the side brushes with the slot.

Notes: Align the color of the side brush with that of the slot.

Q: How to clean the main brush?

A:

  1. Power off the DEEBOT, and turn it over gently.
  2. Remove the cover of the main brush, and take out the main brush assembly.
  3. Clean the entanglement on the brush. (You can also disassemble and clean the accessories on the both sides of the main brush.)
  4. Attach the main brush assembly to the robot properly. Tips: Please rotate the main brush after installation and check if it can rotate smoothly before attaching the main brush cover.

Q: How to clean the dust bin?

A:

  1. Remove the cover of the robot, and take out the dust bin.
  2. Take out the filter assembly accordingly.
  3. Clean the dust on the filter net.
  4. Tap the HEPA gently, and clean the dust bin and the sponge filter.
  5. After cleaning, please put them back to the DEEBOT.

Tips: If the components are cleaned by water, please use them after drying. 3D Map

Q: How to use the 3D map function?

A:

The 3D map function is available after the mapping is completed. Open the ECOVACS HOME App and select the 3D icon to set:

  1. Home Furnishing > Interior Furniture > Flooring Textures > Outer Walls
  2. Furniture Cleaning

Note: When the robot is cleaning, you may choose the furniture to be cleaned and end the current cleaning task by re selecting the furniture. AIVI

Q: AIVI sometimes fails to recognize obstacles or sometimes it is unable to avoid obstacles?

A:

  1. Make sure that “AIVI 3.0” function is enabled in the App.
  2. AIVI can recognize such items as shoes, socks, mopping pad, wires, and charging dock. In order not to disturb the home environment and to reduce entanglement, AIVI will avoid obstacles after recognition. While avoiding obstacles, AIVI will also be as close to the obstacle as possible to better cleanthes surrounding of the obstacles. However, there may be a slight contact, which is normal.
  3. AIVI works well when there is sufficient light, but the recognition will be affected under weak light.
  4. The background of some home environment is too complex, or shapes of some objects are unusual, which may also cause AIVI to take a long time respond, causing contact. For such special situation, it is recommended to set virtual walls or mopping restricted area in the App to isolate certain areas.
  5. Please upgrade your DEEBOT via the ECOVACS HOME App in time for better product experience.
  6. Try wiping the camera lens with a soft cloth to keep it clean and unobstructed. Voice Call

Q: What should I do if there is a disconnection or no sound during the voice call?

A:

  1. If there is a sudden disconnection or no sound during the voice call, please1) Make sure that the network for DEEBOT and the smart phone are good.
  2. Restart the App, and make the voice call connection again. Notes: Unstable network for the robot or the smart phone may cause voice call interruptions.
  3. If there is no sound on the DEEBOT side after the voice call connection, please1) Make sure that ECOVACS HOME App is allowed to access the phone’s microphone.
  4.  End the voice call, and try to check whether the voice function is normal via “Find My DEEBOT” in the App
  5. If there is still no sound, please turn off the robot and restart it after several minutes.

Q: What should I do if the robot or the smart phone makes a harsh sound during the voice call?

A:

There will be a harsh sound during the voice call if the robot and the phonestay in the same room. While using, it is recommended to put the robot and the mobile phone as far as possible from the wall or at a longer distance.

YIKO

Q: How to use YIKO voice assistan t?

A:

  1. Make sure the YIKO voice assistant is enabled in the ECOVACS HOME App.
  2. You can check the YIKO guidance and the voice commands in the App. Wakeup the robot by saying “OK YIKO”, and then say your voice commands, suchas”OK YIKO, start cleaning”.

Notes:

  • YIKO voice commands may be updated. Please refer to the voice commands inthe ECOVACS HOME App.
  • YIKO voice commands can be used after the robot is connected with the network.

Q: YIKO voice assistant doesn’t work or there is a response delay after waking up “OK YIKO”.

A:

  1. Make sure that your DEEBOT is connected with the ECOVACS HOME App and the YIKO voice assistant is enabled in the App.
  2. Please use more standard voice while saying “OK YIKO” to DEEBOT so that YIKO can understand you. You can follow the voice assistant guidance intheApp.
  3. If there is too much noise or DEEBOT is far away from you, YIKO may not recognize your voice commands.
  4. Make sure your home WiFi signal is good, and keep both the ECOVACSHOME App and DEEBOT firmware versions are the latest. Notes: YIKO voice assistant will not work while in video voice call. If the issue persists, please try to reset your DEEBOT and try again.

Resumed Cleaning

Q: Why won’t my robot perform resumed cleaning?

A:

  1. Check whether the resumed cleaning function is enabled in the App.
  2. Resumed cleaning cannot be triggered in Do Not Disturb mode.
  3. Resumed cleaning cannot be triggered if there is a malfunction alarm after DEEBOT returns to charge.
  4. When resumed cleaning is trigged, please do not restart or reset the robot. Notes: The function of resumed cleaning can only be used in Auto Cleaning mode.

Returning

Q: Why won’t my robot find or return to the base station?

A:

  1. Make sure the base station is not powered off or moved. The station needs to stay at the location that DEEBOT starts from.
  2. Check whether there are much water on the floor near the station or inthe cleaning tank. If yes, please wipe them with a dry cloth. DO NOT use other cleaning solution.
  3. Check if the robot is trapped or give any alerts during the cleaning. If yes, please help him.
  4. Ensure the way to the base station is not blocked.
  5. Place the robot in front of the base station and tap the Recall button onthestation to see if the robot can return to the station by itself. If this doesn’t work, please contact ECOVACS Customer Service.

Q: Why won’t my robot find or return to the base station?

A:

  1. Make sure the base station is not powered off or moved. The station needs to stay at the location that DEEBOT starts from.
  2. Check whether there are much water on the floor near the station or inthe cleaning tank. If yes, please wipe them with a dry cloth. DO NOT use other cleaning solution.
  3. Check if the robot is trapped or give any alerts during the cleaning. If yes, please help him.
  4. Ensure the way to the base station is not blocked.
  5. Place the robot in front of the base station and tap the Recall button onthestation to see if the robot can return to the station by itself.
