Install the Wireless USB Adapter

Connect the wireless USB adapter to a USB port on your computer.
USB Installation

Note:

  • The wireless USB adapter is compatible with Windows XP/7/8/8.1/10, Linux, and Mac OSs.
  • After connecting the wireless USB adapter to a computer that runs Windows 10, you can click in the lower-right corner of the desktop and select a WiFi network to directly connect the computer to the network without installing the program in the CD-ROM.

Install the Tenda Wireless Adapter Program

For Windows

  1. Step 1: Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.

Note
If your computer has no CD-ROM drive, download the driver from www.tendacn.com.

  1. Step 2: Install the program.
    Access the CD, double-click Setup.exe, and click Install Now.
    Installation
    Wait for the installation to complete. After the installation is complete, the program runs automatically.

For Mac

  1. Step 1: Download the driver from www.tendacn.com.
  2. Step 2: Double-click Install.pkg, and follow the wizard to complete the installation.

Join a WiFi Network

For Windows

  1. Step 1: Select the WiFi network to be connected, such as Tenda_01.

  2. Step 2: If the WiFi network requires a password, enter the password and click Connect.
    If appears to the left of the WiFi network name, connection is successful.

For Mac

Click in the upper-right corner of the desktop.
Select the WiFi network to be connected. If the WiFi network requires a password, enter the password and click Join.

If in the upper-right corner of the desktop changes to , connection is successful.

Appendix: SoftAP Mode (Available for Windows XP/7/8/8.1)

After being connected to a computer that can access the Internet, the wireless USB adapter can function as a soft AP to enable nearby wireless clients to access the Internet.

Steps for Using the SoftAP Mode:

  1. Click SoftAP in the lower-right corner of the screen to access the configuration page, click Switch, and wait until the SoftAP mode is enabled.
  2. Enter the displayed WiFi name and password on your wireless client to connect the client to the wireless USB adapter.

Note
To modify the WiFi name or WiFi password, click Modify, enter the new WiFi name or password, and click Save.
