Product Usage Instructions

  • Installation
    • The cryo sauna installation should include the following:
  • An oxygen detection system
    • The detector should be installed near the sauna cabin
    • The detector should be installed in proximity to the occupant’s breathing zone
  • Alarm Activation
    • The alarm will activate when oxygen levels fall below the set point of 19.5% O2 by volume or sooner. The alarm provides both audio and visual notification to both the occupant and the operator.
    • Effects and Symptoms of Oxygen Depletion
    • The effects and symptoms of oxygen depletion are as follows:
    • Oxygen Range: 11-18 Vol % – No discernible symptoms can be detected by the individual. A risk assessment must be undertaken to understand the cause and determine whether it is safe to continue working.
    • Oxygen Range: 8-11 Vol % – Reduction of physical and intellectual performance without the sufferer being aware. Possibility of fainting within a few minutes without prior warning. Risk of death below 11%.
    • Oxygen Range: 6-8 Vol % – Fainting occurs after a short time. Resuscitation is possible if carried out immediately.
    • Oxygen Range: 0-6 Vol % – Fainting almost immediately. Brain damage even if rescued.
  • FAQ
    • Q: What is the activation point for the oxygen detection system?
    • A: The oxygen detection system is set to activate an alarm at 19.5% O2 by volume or sooner.
    • Q: Where should the oxygen detector be installed?
    • A: The oxygen detector should be installed near the sauna cabin, in proximity to the occupant’s breathing zone.
    • Q: What happens when oxygen levels fall below the alarm set point?
    • A: The alarm will provide both audio and visual notification to notify both the occupant and the operator.
    • Q: What are the effects and symptoms of oxygen depletion?
    • A: The effects and symptoms vary depending on the oxygen range. In general, there may be no discernible symptoms at first, but as oxygen levels decrease, there can be a reduction in physical and intellectual performance, the possibility of fainting, and in severe cases, the risk of brain damage or death.
    • Q: Is resuscitation possible when oxygen levels are very low?
    • A: Resuscitation is possible if carried out immediately when oxygen levels are between 6-8 Vol %.

  • Inert cryogenic liquids like nitrogen when vaporized produce a large volume of cold inert gas displacing air causing oxygen deficiency and may accumulate in low points.
  • Storage and handling of Nitrogen must meet the applicable requirements of NFPA 55, Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Fluids Code 2013.
  • Customers need to consult with local and state agencies on all building, installation, and usage permitting and licensing requirements.
